@@reneepope-munro8115Lovett is smart and quick and funny. Have watched PSA and Lovett ot Leave It for years. But my friend, come onnn. a SAVANT? eyes rolling so hard.
I won’t be surprised to find that Jeff designates Jon as the narrator of the series. He has such insightful and funny takes on people and strategy. I really hope he goes deep in the game, bc he’s going to be so entertaining to watch. From the first confessional they teased last season, I can tell his storyline is going to be a ‘fish out of water’ narrative when it comes to all the survival in the jungle skills. He’s so relatable and adorable, I can’t wait for this season of survivor.
When I found out he was on it, I immediately started watching Survivor for the first time ever. Finished all of the new era and can’t wait for the season to begin!
I wanted him to win since I heard he was going to be on. But now, I just want him to win the final immunity so he can drop that line when he tells Jeff/the Jury that he's keeping it and 2 other people are going to be making fire. It's such a good line!
I certainly agree with him, but his admittance that even that can be valuable to certain juries. If you get the impression you need to "dazzle" the jury with a move because that's all everyone talks about then you have to do it. This meta analysis is something I can certainly geek out about!
I’ll be honest, I’ve been a Lovett fan for years. But this interview? Knocked my socks off. I’m so excited to watch him play - he seems to be so thoughtful, rational, and bringing new insights to the perspective of a player in the new era. I hope he goes far!!
When he’s talking about the three ways he approaches the game it’s the exact same as a building a campaign plan. You vs opponent You vs you Opponent vs you Opponent vs you This is a great way to think about it! As someone with a campaign background it’s awesome to see Jon!
I've never heard of him before (I'm not American) but he really impressed me in this interview. Choosing Penner and Sophie, and especially what he said about big moves.
i'm a big fan of lovett or leave it, and i'm excited to see him on the show. not only is he charismatic and funny, but he's always delightful when he allows his guest to lightly bully him, and is always prepared to be the butt of the joke. aka i feel like he's gonna be very good while suffering on the show
I am so looking forward to seeing Jon on the show. I remember thinking, way back in Season 1, in a year when our presidential election was decided by nine people in black robes, that it was remarkably similar to how Richard Hatch's win came down to what was, essentially, a coin flip. Ever since then, I've watched Survivor as a very entertaining reflection of the political climate. So, I'm beyond excited to see an actual political operative play the game. I hope he goes far, but I'm worried about his ability to get through the physical/survival aspects of it.
I feel like if he tells people that he is apart of a podcast they will cut him right at the end, like a 5th or 6th place finish. Nobody is going to want to sit at the end with someone who talks for a living.
I live in a blue state so I drove for hours to a purple state to knock on doors for Obama. I love Obama. But listening to Pod Save America for years made me love Obama even more, knowing that he had someone as intelligent, wonderful, funny, and amazing as Jon Lovett on his staff in the White House.
I love lovett. I cant omagine jim missing the whole election season. I hope he goes far,but otjink aysha is my winner pick. I love bherbon thebpodvasts also.
Yes!! The language I was looking for…performative gameplay, has felt disingenuous perhaps? Something I personally don’t like either and have noticed from some players. Rather - just play & strategize.
Really impressed by Lovett here. I loved the part about how you’re playing against yourself at the end of the day. Certainly extremely thoughtful
I love seeing this side of him. So impressed!
Staggering intellect x the facility to articulate it precisely
Lovett has always struck me as the most brilliant of the CM crew. Not *smartest* necessarily, but that his intelligence has a savant quality
Two more sleeps!! I absolutely cannot wait to see Lovett on my favorite show!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Jon Lovett is scary smart. I cannot WAIT to see this.
Not many people know that he was a math major before he became a presidential speech writer!
When I found out he was on it, I immediately started watching Survivor for the first time ever. Finished all of the new era and can’t wait for the season to begin!
Hope u enjoyed them all!
You have to watch the ol' skool Survivor, when it was good. this new era is crap.
"Nobody fights an extra battle just to prove they're good at war" love(tt) lol!

“Performative strategy” is definitely a good read on the current set up.
So happy to hear a contestant say it! Resume building as theater!

i loved that he pointed it out! fingers crossed he becomes a game changer and performative strategy won’t such a big thing anymore!
As someone who consumes mass amounts of both RHAP and Crooked media offerings this is so cool
Media Diet Twinning!
*waves hello from the same little niche*
Same same 💙

😬
@@rinlikescoffee I knoooooooooow!! 😭 Smaller guys on the losing tribe in the new era have a rough road, that’s for sure!!
@@Maestra48 my hopes for the season, is that the idols don’t get totally wasted like in 46
This crossover is crazy at one point in my life the only two things I listened to were RHAP and Pod Save America
I dont even know what RHAP is. Real Housewives A Play? Dont care enough to google, and thats reallly not caring
Unrelated - but whoever is doing the Survivor graphics for the thumbnails designed them so well! Those are really appealing.
Agreed. They’re stunning!
PLEASE PLEASE I need Jon to make it far. He’d be so good

I do find it pretty funny that this is all about the podcasting and nothing about the fact that he was a speech writer for Obama.
And Hillary :)
Mike Bloom is so good at his job.
I've never heard of him before (I'm not American) but he really impressed me in this interview. Choosing Penner and Sophie, and especially what he said about big moves.
I couldn’t be more excited about my 2 worlds colliding, I really hope Jon does well. I’m busting for this season to start!
I still can't get over the fact that we got Jon on Survivor before Monét =)))
Thank you! I am wild about Jon Lovett!
Very interesting to hear his take on the game and see a different side of Jon. Going to be fun to see him play.
This will be the first time i watch Survivor lol
Seasons 41 and on are not worth it; go old school.
I watched part of t first season and found it ridiculous, stressful, and even unkind. i'll watch bc Lovett. We'll see how many eps I get thru.
@@thunderousapplause Guess 1, Jon was first boot!
This is the first time it’s felt like I know a cast member 😂
I am going to LOVE this crossover episode!
Rooting for you Jon!
Watching s47e1 so excited to watch Jon Lovett, he's going to be hilarious. Already, I'm dead because of his every facial reaction😂
so…what im about to say might shock you.
Great casting. I can’t wait to see Lovett on Survivor ❤❤❤
Im two favourite podcasts collide. LOVE Jon. You dont want to be sitting beside him in the end.
Cheslea Handler? Perfect. I love Jon Lovett SO much!
The theater of strategy 😲

Sorrry for typing errors in my last comment. O am recovering from a stroke.

Lovett is a national treasure ❤
Chelsea Handler was an interesting off-the-cuff answer!😅 Love her!
Wuuut Lovett on RHAP - didn’t expect this cross-over; but also can’t believe Lovett gonna be on survivor!
he seems to have a great game sence if he can get a foothold and isn't targeted for being a big name i can see him going very far
Lovett is so adorable; and equally brilliant
I feel like if he tells people that he is apart of a podcast they will cut him right at the end, like a 5th or 6th place finish. Nobody is going to want to sit at the end with someone who talks for a living.
What is this Tropical Zoom Background..
It’s the only way he feels comfortable now, he’s an outdoorsman
This might be a dumb question so please help me out.. Are these interviews actually before they play or after they play and before the premiere?
Before they play

Survivor has already been taped; he’s back doing podcast episodes again. We just won’t know how far he got until the episodes air!
so excited to watch John this season ❤
i wouldn't be shocked to find out Lovett talked his way to victory. he's been looking kind of smug since he came back lol
Yes!! The language I was looking for…performative gameplay, has felt disingenuous perhaps? Something I personally don’t like either and have noticed from some players. Rather - just play & strategize.
The concept of the show is disingenuous gameplay, no?
I like Jon a lot, idk if I see him winning. He’ll either go early, or deep in the end game, couple see him in ftb, but not winning
I am hoping for some epic confessionals, though.
None of his skill was used beneficially
Ha! Jon didn't even make it to Day 4...LOL
Meanwhile, Jon knew he was first boot during this cast. Could be a saving grace; this season looks like the usual new-era flop.
Sod is in denial
This is the least profane I've ever heard Lovett be. I wish he could be like this on his own podcast,
