I discovered LoveBites after watching a reaction to them last November, and I immediately started to kick myself for not starting sooner. This sort of power metal is really my jam, reminding me of Angra and Vandroya from Brazil, Unleash the Archers from Vancouver CA, Frozen Crown from Italy, and of course Dragonforce from the UK. You noticed that guitarist Midori is ripped.. well, she's also a competitive bodybuilder. The other guitarist is Miyako, and she studied classical piano before studying guitar, so she's a world class musician with both instruments. The name of the band comes from a Halestorm song, reportedly the one singer Asami sang at her audition. This video came out last Christmas, and introduced us to their new bass player, Fami. The old bassist Miho was a founding member of the band, but she decided to leave. Fami is only 21, 20 when she joined, but I think she's only made the band better.
Ladies are very tight. Sync duo guitar is incredible. Vocal is amazing. Drums electrifying. Bass is deep and harmonizing connecting all section. Beautiful reaction. 😊 👌👍 This band is a sheer phenomenon. 5 professional female musicians, of whom at least 3 are musical prodigies in my opinion (Haruna/drums, Miyako/guitar, Fami/bass). They have the time of their lives, lots of fun, but they also work hard to get better (if that is possible at all). Not 1 bad/weak song on 4 consecutive studio albums. Umpteen excellent songs, Metal without remorse, and lyrics worth reading. To me, Lovebites is the best newcomer Metal band in the world, 40+ years after Iron Maiden. Now I just wish for a Lovebites "mania" in the (Metal) world, and that their management loosens their chains at last, and lets them get in touch with their global fanbase ("The Wolf Pack") "personally". Love Bites reminds me of Deep Purple from the 60s. Their overlapping harmonic guitar leads are very similar to Deep Purple’s first album. These girls are really churning up some old man’s memories. We really had the greatest music. I’m almost 67 and I’m still playing.
