I would like to see more of the hydraulic clutch and more on easy pedal. It is harder to adjust a clutch brake adjustment with a hydraulic clutch if the system is not working well. I applaud your efforts to educate. Love to see more detail. I have used to train some of my young guys and your video helps. Thanks
The clutch adjustment itself of .500" to .560" (1/2" to 9/16") is the same. However the yoke fingers will actually touch the release bearing even with no pressure on the pedal. This is normal. However there should be little or no tension on the release bearing. Free pedal is dependent on manufacturer. There doesn't need to be as much free pedal as a linkage style clutch.
The easy pedal is exactly the same except for the way you adjust the clutch. Instead of a strap and a tool, there is a large nut with a loaded spring. You use a socket to push down on the nut to release it and allow you to turn the adjustment ring. Make sure someone is pushing down the pedal or you will strip the teeth. When adjustment is finished make sure that nut springs back into the original position, locking it into place.
The problem I have is with hydraulic clutches and release bearings that don't stay relatively plumb. I was baffled why a hydraulic release clutch had quik adjust instead of auto adjust, as well as how I would adjust it. The hydraulics don't seem to have free pedal and the "fork" gets in the way of my adjustment feeler gauges.
my truck hasnt had that cover on in 200k miles. the truck is shifting pretty bad. seems to be leaking fluid from the bell housing too. 06 columbia. typical scenerio of lackluster maintiance by penske whome which its leaded from
