Gotta say, I like everything about the old print better except maybe the DJ spine color. The undercover art is sooo much better than the champions group shot.
It's a pity that marvel don't sell the dust jackets separately sometimes
That would save much grief especially with those of us that have dust jackets that don't match the current printings.

I LOVED the original Miles Morales Ultimate series. Bendis did a wonderful job pivoting around events like Divided We Fall and Cataclysm to keep his story going. For me, the arcs got a bit weaker/rushed as they went on and I didn't love the transition into the main universe. The last Ultimate series felt rushed with plots that went nowhere (Spider Twins), a Deus Ex Machina resolution, and then the world suddenly ending for Secret Wars. Then his last run meandered a bit with unfortunate handling of race, the Civil War II detour, the Sinister Six never gelling, and Spider-Men II before Bendis' scary near-death experience and an understandable rewritten "let's just wrap it up" ending. That said, there were definitely some high points - that Szymon Kudranski issue is stunning, intense, and beautiful (I would have loved more like that) and the Latour issues of the Spider-Gwen crossover make that arc a fun read. I'm glad this beautiful collection is here for the fans that loved it. Thanks to your channel, I think I'll pick up the omnibus run before this one and leave it at that. Interesting, thanks as always, I will have to pick this up at some point. Got the second printing of the Ultimate Miles omni so I'll probably end up getting this even though it technically won't match with the "2" but I'm okay with that.

That gutter loss is pretty annoying, but I already got Vol. 1, so I'm all in on this one, lol.

Have the first ultimate spider man in the mail and getting this and miles volume 1 at the end of the month, don’t know if I should wait to read the miles run then go back or hold off in read them in order any suggestions?

I had both of the previous printings. But ended up selling them both when the price was high. I didn’t read them.
Now I’m buying to collect and read. I’ll go back to your original review to decide if I want to buy miles. I have the Gwen Stacy omnibus and have not read any of miles, yet.
While it slightly bums me out that I purchased the volume one because I missed out on the original printing, I got the original printing for this one and I will have to live with one saying Volume 1 and the other being different. Maybe I should invest in a custom dust jacket 😂 I digress, this was an excellent review so thank you 🫶🏽🫶🏽

Does Miles Omni 1 conclude and volume 2 starts a new story arc, or is omni vol 2 a direct continuation? I'd rather wait and see if I like vol 1 enough to get vol 2 but also don't want 2 to go out of print.

Does ultimate Spider-Man get revived by the Oz compound in this book? I know this is meant to happen after secret wars right?
That's in ultimate spiderman I think, he first appears in issue 200

@@BeastXGohanI can't remember exactly buy in secret wars, Earth 6110 is destroyed but in spider men II, which is in this book, you find out that ultimate peter returns to being spiderman

I had the tpbs and felt this Miles Morales Spiderman was not well written and rushed. Maybe im too much of a Peter Parker fan. He even died in this universe and was pist at that

much prefer the original boards and the colors look a lot better in some shots even on camera...boooo. not happy about the gutter loss but i'm already too far in with a new printing v1 :(
dust jacket looks great but what a down grade with the generic cover art on the actual omni. Original art is night n day wow. Marvel has to fumble it some where if its not the egregious spine and thin paper its gonna be the cover art.

Miles was miles better in the ultimate universe. Unfortunate.
This book is so bad, how many times are they going to reboot him in such short period of time since he was created...nobody reads it anyway, this title is constantly at the bottom of the charts as far as the sales go.
The previous volume sold out. Hence the reprint. So I guess someone is reading it. But yeah…. at this point Bendis was losing his steam.
@@NearMintCondition omnis sold out because a lot of people in this hobby collect then like pokemon cards. Was really talking about single issues...the numbers are dreadful, and has been since the initial run...and yeah, I gave up in it a while ago as well

You say that, but then he also gets people complaining about spoilers for things other people say to them aren't spoilers, so better to play it safe 🤷♂️
Man, I can’t even talk about stories 40 years old without some complaining. Every. Time. So I put spoilers up these days to make sure I don’t ruin The Death of Captain Marvel for someone.

There really is no such thing as "surprise" in comics or movies in this day and era. Everything is just about predictable in all media. The death of a character only means they will be back ln a few months or so. ALWAYS in the comics. I've been reading comics since the late sixtys and no matter what the millioniols or GenXers or whatever thy call them, it's All been done before. And more than likely they have heard of these stories if they've hung around with other comic readers. I don't care about spoilers because it all HAS been done before. There is nothing original out there. Thats the reason we buy REPRINTED material in an omnibus. Especially if the material is from an era with more originality. I know it's always been that way. But I'm old enough to know that there is no such thing as surprise, it's all predictable. That's why spoilers don't bother me.
You said it right there. Spoilers don’t bother you. But let me tell you, spoilers bother lots of people.
