Diamine Inkvent Calendar 2023: Day 14

- Hello my friends, it's that time of year again! Diamine released their Inkvent calendar for 2023, and it's purple. As usual, my plan is to upload a new video every day of each new Inkvent bottle of ink, with swatches of that ink on a variety of papers, and when I have time, I'll also provide some writing samples and maybe some art work (such as it is) if I can manage it. There is a real chance this year that I will be too busy to finish the calendar, so wish me luck.
Diamine has added a new type of inks this year in the Inkvent Calendar, and they've taken one away as well. I'll cover the new one when we get to it, but the missing category is "Sheening Inks", which was probably my personal favorite, so that's a bit of a shame.

On the first day of the Inkvent calendar I watched four presenters, on day two it was three and by the fourth day your videos were the only ones I was watching. Thank you for doing it again this year! I love your presentations and production values and the Christmas music really helps get me in a cheery mood for my day.🎄
Your videos continue to be such high quality! This one surprised me, I was expecting more purple from the label. I think it’s quite attractive though.
Out of all the inkvent videos yours are the best. hands down. This one is pretty! I should have bought this inkvent. darn it.
I love your Inkvent videos. It helps that we are in the same region and share a love for blue inks. I prefer to watch the unboxing and then purchase the inks I like in the footed bottles when they become available. Your art style is beautiful as well. I started making my own swatch rings (CA Snow, og TR68, and CA Light cream these days) after watching the first few of these last year, it makes so much sense! Thanks for that awesome idea!
Woah...was not expecting that color...reminded me of a tropical fish or nudibranch...very pretty.
Anything purple leaning is going to be a favorite for me. I think the demo showing the chameleon effect was effective, you could see how it changed from pink to gold. Maybe at the end you can make one picture with your favorite inks. 😊 See you tomorrow.
My dad taught me about colors by putting things next to each other so I could see how they looked different. His turquoise Ford Galaxie was a fun one to play with and he would park it next to blue or green or gray cars so I could see how different it looked each time. I'm reminded of that in how you do your samples. Not just the same-ish ones, but ones we might know that are a little different so we can see HOW they are different. That is super useful. Even if somebody hasn't seen any of those inks in person, they know where it falls in a range. Anyway I just love that and need to go buy a couple more violet inks...
Hi again! No feathering here! :-) and I second all the other comments! Your productions are really best of all about inkvent. It is both hard work you put into it but also visual and storytelling talent! Use it plenty for us and for your own benefit!
And I can see you took a note about chameleons.. I think I may have been into something producing this short few days ago! ;-)
Thanks! Glad to hear that you didn't get any feathering. It was odd that I only had a bit for a few words, so I assume that it was washing solution on my nib. Now that I have an idea about how to see the chameleon effect better on camera, I want to go back and test the other chameleons again 🙂
Awesome video and some nice similar inks (looking at you Krishna Overcast Deep lilac 2:14 and Robert Oster Monsoon Clouds 2:40). I noticed the missing apostrophe on this ink too. I will admit that I wrote down the ink's name as it was written on the bottle and had a hard time not adding the apostrophe, hahaha. Thank you for the videos!!
I have no interest in this inkvent calendar but still keep watching, don't know why. Eagerly waiting for your beautiful tales about pens & other inks. ❤

This is such a beautiful and interesting shade. I love the pink glitter it matches the purple really well.
Your inkvent videos are the best its how I found your channel last year ( it was in a reddit post on the fountain pen subreddit). The other ones are nice but you have a very high production value and your narration makes it feel like a friend showing off a new fun ink even though we are on opposite parts of the north and in different countries and have never met. The internet is a weird place.

Actually not too far from Jacaranda, just rather more saturated.
The ink name I choose to interpret as a somewhat fatalistic statement about how everything must end, even rainbows. :)
I think 'chameleon' means the glitter color sort of matches the ink color, rather than being gold or silver. Too bad, 'cause I was hoping the glitter in this ink would be some sort of rainbow/holographic glitter. Anyway, love ur video reviews Matthew!
It is a nice shade of purple. Perhaps this one of the best of the Advent Calendar so far. I like Moon Beam, too.

You are correct. Bril, sulekha and Krishna used by me which are close match to this colour.

To reveal the truth, I don't bother with the other InkVent reviews. This "Rainbow's End" would be more appealing to me without the glitter. I like this blue, at least on video.
What is the second paper you are swatching on please? When you say it, I don't recognize the name! Thank you!
The second paper is Iroful. "Iro" is "color" in Japanese, and they combined it with the "ful" from English as a bit of word-play. It's pretty available, now, but it's quick and easy on Amazon.
