ive heard the stainless don't have anywhere near the same level of breathability (performance increase) do you have any actual test results to show the stainless ones increase the air flow ?

@@sp2074 straight up the middle, most direct route to give us more time at the top. Most of the places on the way we can visit again or have already seen, so hoping to have more time up the top on this trip. We’re going to take the caravan the whole way. Should be good :)

Can a fan be installed inside a snorkel and will it make any difference?

Wad or Wade? I thinking it's wad'e'ing. Wadding made me think you were excited about your snorkel.

    Snorkel on a petrol engine?🤔

    • @AussieVanAdventures
      @AussieVanAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Sure is. This ones been under water and the whole way through the old telegraph track too.. amongst many other questionable places. Would be silly not to have one on there and wouldn't have made it otherwise.

Biggest mistake and con ever perpetuated on the 4wd community.
I got sucked in and this is what i found.
I can tell you from experience that a snorkle sucks in more dust than anything. We ran up to the Cape, my GU Patrol with a snorkle and a stock standard petrol Pajero no snorkle.
I had a snorkle sock as well and at Cairns on the way home i done a filter. I took out a literal shovel full of dirt. The Pajero, you could've wiped his air cleaner with a white glove and not seen any dust what so ever.
That's the first myth busted. Suck in less dirt, BS.
Here's the second. How many times a week do you plan on crossing water above the guard line??
Once a yr? Once in the vehicles lifetime?
So you hack out 3/4 of a $100,000 vehicles guard for the sake of 1 trip?
Second, your float line is below the bottom of your wheel arch, how long do you think you'll be under water with water lapping your windscreen?
    Not long, if at all.
And again the stock petrol Pajero crossed the same water i did without a prob.
Nissan has pumped billions into R&D over the yrs and ppl from the bush think they know better. Yep Nissan fkd up.
All these talking points are fabricated by those who fabricate the snorkles in order to sell them.
But hey, if hacking out 3/4 of the guard on a 100k vehicle and finishing it off with some nice cheap pinch weld is your thing, Go for it ;)

As you would know its silent with the window up, but yes.. if the missus wants the window down, she is going to hear all about it! 😂 See how we go for a while and we can reassess when the time comes. Cheers though, love your car mate!
