Your GF is so amazing! Hello! Nice to meet you! Aye, this has been a great journey seeing all the reactions. I bought WoW in December 2004, one month after it came out. I missed a little bit of Battle For Azeroth due to a car accident, but been playing non stop almost all the way through. Seeing the main characters grow has been incredible. Unlike FFXIV, we're an unnamed hero who helps the story go forward, but we have over a dozen named characters like these who progress the main story itself. As a role-player on a role-play server, we say OTHER heroes did the main stories and we walk in their shadows. It's fun!
I LOVE how you've come back to this initial pull that brought you into the crazy world of warcraft. Genuine reactions every time, with fantastic coverage over features, shots, compositions, acting etc. Top tier as always Philip

Happy birthday again. This was so much fun in stream, we gotta get her addicted to the lore and the game. It's amazing to see the enthusiasm you both bring to the stream and watching something that I've played since 2008. My adult kids got me into it and I've never lost the love for the story, it's why I play. And she's got to go back and see things like the Legion story with Varian. And, I can see her do Sylvanas and you do Varian. THAT would be good cosplay.

16:34 In the Warcraft movie, Thrall was shown as the little green Orc baby that was born as soon as Durotan, Draka, and the rest of the Frostwolf clan were urged through the Dark Portal from Draenor to Azeroth by Guldan (an infamous Orc Warlock who is depicted in many times throughout the series as a villain. In the Warcraft movie, Guldan is the main antagonist).
Draka, Durotan's wife/mate and Thrall's mother, went into early labor due to the stress of the situation as well as being exposed to the immense Fel magic that powered the Dark Portal when it opened. This is the main reason why Thrall was born green. The Fel energy "corrupted" him while he was still in the womb just before Draka gave birth to him.
I'm not sure why the other's were uncorrupted, so to speak, but I am glad that you mentioned the movie. I watched in theater with my now ex-boyfriend and his mom, and let me tell you, it is an incredible movie to watch, and I loved every bit of it 😁😍🥰☺

Poor Anduin he went from a starry eyed kid believing in the good in people and he's literally spent the last 4yrs (since the beginning of the previous expansion) in HELL literal warcraft hell, being broken and used against his will...not a surprise to find him like this now, it wouldn't be believeable if he was still shiny

You know that funny situation in films/series where someone goes to watch a film with another person who has already seen it? And who, unbearably, destroys the character's immersion by speaking every 2 seconds? That's literally what happened here.

I don’t know if you know Philip but the « light » in wow function a bit differently then you might think…
« The light » isn’t good or bad, it’s a power mostly used by priest and paladins but those wielders can be the the most horrible killers ever (scarlet monastery) but if they believe 100% that their cause is just the light will respond.
On the other hand if you start second guessing your actions, « the light » can and will abandon you as it did with arthas a stratholme and he turned to « darkness » (frostmourne)
Its so sick that they dident even use motion capture lol, Blizzard is def one of the masters of all of the "cinematic world" in Video games. I played World of warcraft sense 2005. I literaly start to cry almost every time i see anduins facial expession, its so fking real its crazy.
Thats exactly the type of expressions a person would have thats been thrue alot, has PTSD or something, and are just "lost" in themself , everthing about this is a 10/10, the lightning, expressions, dialogs, just the eyes alone tell so much.
Man blizzard is so fking good at cinematics, This one is probably my favorite world of warcraft cinematic ever, i seen people shit on it cause it has "No action" all i say to them is BRO u dont need fking action to make something good. I like that your girl friend gave creds to the composers aswell. the cinematic team, and the composers of the music in World of warcraft has carried this game sense 2005. WoW has allways had sad, good, awsome fking tunes. The theme about the music to me sound like some oldschool stuff, that has alot of meaning behind it. The sound alone express every single thing u are seing with your eyes.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the cinematic! Blizzard has always been cutting edge with their cinematics and storytelling. It's fun to watch people discover and appreciate this rich world that the players have been invested in for decades. Plus the two of you being filmmakers yourselves offering insight into the techniques they use only deepens our appreciation of the hard work their team does.
Azeroth is a prison by the titans, they prison everything. Sargeras put the sword in there to free it. (just fan theory atm)

it is quite nice to see your reactions to the cinematics when u first see them. But it is basically just you saying they are amazing, which really appeals to people who are already WoW fans/players. I think the reason people have jumped on these reaction videos is how complimentary you are of them. I think it would be more interesting to see some actual analysis, instead of you just saying everything is amazing all the time. that might just be me though.
Check out my other reactions, I always go back and do lots of analysis of every shot after my initial watch, if used to pause it and analyze on first watch but many people got upset so I try not to pause until I’ve seen the whole thing

I remember back during Shadowlands youtuber Accolonn interviewed Anduin's VA multiple times. He's a super cool guy, even tho he was one of THOSE Balance Druid players that was oneshotting ppl with Convoke The Elements in random battlegrounds XD.

I'm so looking forward to the rest of the cinematics of this expansion. It wasn't a good expansion in terms of gameplay, but they did really good when it comes to cinematics and story telling (a lot of CGI cinematics as well). I don't know if other WoW players feel the same, but to me, Dragonflight has been awesome in terms of gameplay, accessibility, and laying the foundation of the core mechanics that we are going to be using in the future (playing alts and other specs has never been better). Yet... It was lacking so hard in the story telling and cinematic department... I can't really pick up a moment that I found memorable, and even though I mostly lurk in the M+ world, I love the lore too much and I'm currently taking my time off the game to join a few months before the Worldsoul Saga begins.

I am not sure about this, but most of the music in the past was composed by Neal Acree. He was involved in Star Gate as well.

Old soldier is a 3 part series that i do recommend. as well as the other legion in-game cinematics that tells more of the story of the blade.

I think Blizz said that Shadowlands time operates on a different scale or rate, which is pretty consistent with how most game universe's. They seem to have backtracked on that for player character aging within the Shadowlands; but perhaps that Maw Daylight Time has aged Anduin prematurely as much as his having been dominated and experiences thereafter. He definitely does not look his age as counted on Azeroth. Dude is grizzled. Hot, like hot mess messy hot, but hot nonetheless. It amazes me this cinematic was completely hand animated. They did such an amazing job on so many details, I had assumed that they at least imported live action. I'm truly impressed.
IIRC it's been 5 years since the beginning of Shadowlands to the start of Dragonflight. I'd reckon another 3-5 years between Dragonflight and War Within.

They used motion capture in Battle for Azeroth opening cinematic (th-cam.com/video/CXiUFuEjSHo/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=yeagmako), so I'm pretty sure they used it here too :) Anyhow it's still incredibly done 🥲
