This is the embodiment of all stereotypes. Black man on base, a nerd(wearing a Zelda t-shirt) on keyboard, the over-the-top wanna be extreme sport drummer, and the nerdy guitar player. Regardless, they kick ass and good for them. I approve.
This comment section is cancer. A group of musicians performs a piece that most of you would never be able to pull off and all you have to say about the entire performance as a whole is the guitar was slightly out of tune? Fuck that. Killer medley, guys. Hope to see more from you all in the future!
yeah it's due this fall... just cause we go to berklee doesn't mean we ONLY play songs we write. What do you learn from that anyway? You play other people's stuff that suits you and makes you feel something and then infuse it into something new. Ok berklee isn't the "instant get famous" solution some people thinks it is, but were not all stupid hipster wana be pop stars or jazz snobs who don't give anything a second thought. We like good music, we play good music, and we write good music.
hey samuel thanks for the killer performance dude, it never eases 2 amaze all the "hyper critical" keyboard warriors out there! one day i will get to ur level, but until then, im goin 2 get my axe and jam "enter sandman" lol
I know from experience how hard those pieces are to play on guitar and they did an AMAZING job at executing it and nailing the feel and energy of those passages!
I suppose you don't play any instrument, those covers aren't just covers, have you ever realized how many skill you need to play these "covers"?As a guitarist who studied some books from Berklee and from G.I.T.,I think they did a great work!!Rock on guys!! Ciao from Italy!!!
Trust me, we're learning more everyday about that. I'm no stranger to hard work. You think I didn't have to practice my ass off to get this out of a performance? Most of these shows are not 100% well planned and in this case your probably also looking at about 80% playing ability of all of us because of the heightened adrenalin and nerves from playing in front of our peers. If you have a problem with the out of tune guitar check out my in tune band at aviations.bandcamp.com Thanks for listening!
2:25 When the best part of paradigm shift would come, you guys changed the song... I was waiting so much for that part and then wow 4:46! awesome cover!
a former berklee student, and short time employee there told me that it has always been a problem with the majority of the student body that they want to go from 0-60 without understanding how the engine propels them, or how they can fine tune the engine and make it more efficient, so it will work for them rather than work against them....
It's a nice cover but 2 problems: 1- Strange guitar tone 2- At most parts that keyboards should go with the guitar, it didn't But nice song choice, LTE is by far my favorite band ever, and it's something rare to see fans and covers
The guitar on Paradigm Shift was awesome, though I really wish the keyboard would've played the fills at some key parts. Acid Rain was a little behind the tempo, but the cojones necessary to play this song live makes up for that. You sir are a badass.
If you take your comment and translate it to another profession...you're saying that professional basketball players aren't allowed to play pickup games or a game of horse. Dumb. Plus, if they can play LTE, they've beaten 99% of the population already.
I get what hojima's saying though. I don't know why people think Berkeley is some sort of "special" thing to do with your life. Theory, Composition, in all honesty anything musical you can learn on your own, or from a teacher for considerably less money. I know there's a lot more to it than that, but there tends to be two sides to the argument: Berkeley alumni who will argue that it's the best thing ever, and people who see it as a waste of time and money.
Well,we should see what kind of ideas you have and how you play, but if you don't care, why criticizing?Anyway, any artist in music schools started to play covers and having fun,and those covers are a great step,if after years of music studies, you play just covers,it doesn't so good, but they are young musicians having fun, before to criticize, you should prove you can do better things,or maybe do you just envy those students?Enjoy music without criticize so much.
I love this school but it is expensive and i dont have alot of money... i make do with what i have and what i can get. When I feel the need to play something that costs more than the place im living in now i'll let you know :P
Dude 2nd semester students ... I've been trying to play at least a little part of those songs for years ... ! just think about it , the skills when they graduate !
I play guitar bass and drums. I know they take skill. I dont really care about that, I care about being able to externalize musical ideas. Nothing more.
I have noticed that a lot of YT videos don't play back at the correct speed making instruments sound out of tune. I hear a bit of a warble all the way through this performance.
That's strange that the guitar is out of tune, that's an Agile Interceptor 7-string and even though they're fairly cheap guitars they usually sound amazing
Congrats guys! Great song choices but with great songs comes great responsabilities. You should work on the timmings. Out of sync many times! But overall great work!
Maybe its cause its a 7 and not his main guitar. Agile guitars are really nice though...Agile & Avatar are where its at for bang for the buck, no contest.
Nice video! But you should show the drums more often, that is a handsome and well-to-do beautiful drummer who deserves to have the world revolve around him at all times. That is all. P.S. Percussion was great P.P.S. Loved the drummers facial hair Also, more cowbell
I dont think that it makes you famous. I think it produces a lot of solid musicians that go unheard of, but theres definitely a prog or jazz fusion stereotype that pervades it.
Relative to your level of performance, I should be impressed if it took like 2 weeks to prepare for it. It would be hard to justify if its longer than that. You guys might have missed some parts and the keyboardist needs more metronome practice, overall you're heading in the right direction with your chosen DT/LTE influence.
dude were all 2nd semester students... we're just having fun playing music we love.
Nah, i think it was the video and audio quality. you did fantastic.
You can't expect these guys to sound like LTE, come on, there's few people in the world that can play this perfectly. I thought they did a great job.
This is the embodiment of all stereotypes. Black man on base, a nerd(wearing a Zelda t-shirt) on keyboard, the over-the-top wanna be extreme sport drummer, and the nerdy guitar player. Regardless, they kick ass and good for them. I approve.
base
Keyboard player is actually the weakest link, or should I say "Link"
i think guitar needs to be tuned properly
It happens. He still did a great job. Not ready stuff to play. They pulled it off beautifully
This comment section is cancer. A group of musicians performs a piece that most of you would never be able to pull off and all you have to say about the entire performance as a whole is the guitar was slightly out of tune? Fuck that.
Killer medley, guys. Hope to see more from you all in the future!
It is a fact. The guitar is way out of tune. Can't escape hearing that.
Well.... If you know you cant pull it of, maybe pick another song?!.
yeah it's due this fall... just cause we go to berklee doesn't mean we ONLY play songs we write. What do you learn from that anyway? I think it would be quite hard to transition into Acid Rain, if they started playing that part.
This is awesome. The virgin Dream Theater/Petrucci/LTE fanboys need a reality check. These guys are kicking ass for what this is.
Tune your guitar man! Otherwise good effort.
A Downbeat Exegete are you fucking deaf?
i think you are .. @@nino9273
McLovin on keyboards
Donald Glover on bass
Ericandroy oh my lord
Lmao
Btw the album is out now and you can listen here on this channel!
Yeah if you want to hear our music check out this youtube page for my current band!
To have the balls to cover LTE... hell yah.
a former berklee student, and short time employee there told me that it has always been a problem with the majority of the student body that they want to go from 0-60 without understanding how the engine propels them, or how they can fine tune the engine and make it more efficient, so it will work for them rather than work against them....

Assolutamente incredibili!!! bravi !!!
Wow man, I've got to say, Petrucci definitely makes it look easy playing this song because obviously these people are great musicians lol
If you take your comment and translate it to another profession...you're saying that professional basketball players aren't allowed to play pickup games or a game of horse. Dumb. Plus, if they can play LTE, they've beaten 99% of the population already.
Interesting 7 string guitar. It looks as if it has a shorter scale length? I guess 25 inch.
you guys seem like awesome dudes! good job! killer playing
Great job guys!

fuck... let me berklee in!
Good effort guys ...well done ...
Hey Great Cover and playing. I´ll be going to Berklee this fall. Perhaps we´ll be seeing us around. Cheers!
I love this school but it is expensive and i dont have alot of money... i make do with what i have and what i can get. When I feel the need to play something that costs more than the place im living in now i'll let you know :P
Awesome!

really good ! all of you'l were perfect, on time and killing it expect for the keyboardist. I thought he wasn't tight enough.

Dude how have I never seen this! Killin!
I love the keyboard guy's shirt!
I didn't expect such an awesome cover, congratulations!
Epic
thats a really nice looking guitar
whoa! Awesome!
amazing
The way it should be.
Paradigm Shift? Have these guys been playing Final Fantasy XIII lately, or has Square Enix been listening to these guys? lol
I'm using the Eleven Rack

Freakin' awesome man!
horrible execution,good tone.
Can I please have a broom and bucket for all these bricks I just shat
dammit i should have went to berklee..
that was for hojma
I feel your energy my home at 2 a.m in my home. Your tempo is great, you are great but not like petruccies crew by nature maybe:)
Lol that was my floating bridge... and me pressing down on it too much.
sounds good keyboard player's tone
Jesus Christ, you guys fucking slapped. Nicely done.
aw thanks :)
I have noticed that a lot of YT videos don't play back at the correct speed making instruments sound out of tune. I hear a bit of a warble all the way through this performance.
Amazing performance man!!! What are you using to get that great sound !?
Muy bueno, la verdad es dificl tocar esto hay que tener agallas ee!!!
What's the brand of the guitar you are using? Thx!
LTE only are one.
That's strange that the guitar is out of tune, that's an Agile Interceptor 7-string and even though they're fairly cheap guitars they usually sound amazing
Its an Agile. Speedy guitars
Congrats guys! Great song choices but with great songs comes great responsabilities. You should work on the timmings. Out of sync many times! But overall great work!
nice :)
The Triforce
I know this is 8 years ago, but one criticism I have - besides the tuning issue - is not modulating from Paradigm Shift's key to Acid Rain's properly.
Surprised to see him playing an agile, would have thought something a bit more expensive tbh
Maybe its cause its a 7 and not his main guitar. Agile guitars are really nice though...Agile & Avatar are where its at for bang for the buck, no contest.
Envy please?
Bass and Guitar OK.
we have the same last name
Nice video! But you should show the drums more often, that is a handsome and well-to-do beautiful drummer who deserves to have the world revolve around him at all times. That is all.
P.S. Percussion was great
P.P.S. Loved the drummers facial hair
Also, more cowbell
DAT LEGEND OF ZELDA SHIRT THO?
rythm ...
Nice energy but I think the keyboardist could have done much more
metronomoooo porfa!!!!!
1:05 - 1:08 Zelda Shirt FTW
Where is the guitar intro?
At the beginning...they started Paradigm correctly...no Acid Rain intro though
there'ssomething wrong in the guitar at the beginning...
I dont think that it makes you famous. I think it produces a lot of solid musicians that go unheard of, but theres definitely a prog or jazz fusion stereotype that pervades it.
So so
I spy an agile :D
rack eleven on and axe fx off? wtf?
....🤔
Drums were lacking
Wait!!! No Not Him!!🤣
minor mistakes.
I have no issue with your skill. I question how good of an idea it is to do a dream theatre cover.
ouch, my ears....
Well you COULD get a tuner :D ... but I know that during a show it's not always easy to start tuning your guitar :D
meh
