Well done ! Your making some good ground on the welding. As for your rust on the welds moisture is a demon for fresh metal. Once I'm happy with a welding repair I spray epoxy primer mainly because it seals the work.
Thankyou! Yeah it’s taken a little bit longer than I first anticipated these stags aren’t easy when It comes to panel fitment! At least there’s a rough guide out there on TH-cam now!
My favourite sports car , your a brave man taking it on , hope head gasket is OK, triumph should have seen sense and in installed the range rover V8 3•5 then it would be perfect, great video 😊
thankyou! I’m going to get some weld through primer for the back wing on this side, the other side I used grease between the seam, soo using one on each side can be a test for which is better (in another 40 years hopefully!😂)
@@jameskimmerson5548 I aim for fortnightly but it often goes wrong! I work full time around playing with my cars soo it can be difficult, this month I’ve had the dash out my 944 which I decided would be too hard to film, my mx5 got vandalised.. but yeah just as often as I can without putting out bad videos!
I also have a Stag. It's not as rotten as this one but it does have some issues. There is always the temptation to sell it as-is and buy an XK8 instead.
@@Boothsmotors I'd have a Jaaaag !!! 😁 There's also a temptation to try to get an 3.2 AJ26/27 V8 in a Stag but friggin' the ECU may be a bit tricky, even it it does fit. The worst that could happen ? @@lewis72I’d love to do a crazy engine swap one day! Wouldn’t do it on a stag though they’ve already got a v8! Maybe something in my mgb or a supercharger kit!

Ahh okay I’ll look into that I’m guessing it’ll go between the actuator inside the welder and the torch? And stop that sudden surge off gas when you first press the trigger? I set my gas to ‘4’ 🤷♂️ on the regulator as I was told to by one of my dads mates.. not a clue if that’s correct or not!😂

Hi, I was really looking forward to the stag videos series, but I had to stop watching this one and the last one because of you camera work made me fill dizzy, hope it’s something you can sort out for future I’m so sorry for bringing it up hope you understand 🫨🫨🫨
Ahh don’t worry I appreciate any feedback! Which bits is it when I’m holding my normal camera and talking? Or my 360 camera that I’ve used On a stick under the car?
Great progress, once the sill is done , rest is straightforward ,
I hope so! Just the front end to worry about! Worst case scenario 2 new front wings rather than the second hand ones!
Always so interesting and boy have you (and your Dad) done tons of work!
Thanks 😊 I can’t help feel like it should be further ahead though! These stags are a real pain with regards to panel fitment!
The Stag is coming along very well, You are doing a fantastic job on the wreck of a car. Nice to bring it back to life. All the best Bob
Thanks Bob slowly slowly I think I’m past the worst of it now !
I'm very impressed with what you've achieved. Such an iconic design, The Stag. Stick at it, keep going 😊
Thank you! It’s taking a little longer than I first thought but I’m sure it’ll all be worth it!
Brilliant job, like a phoenix slowly rising from the rusty ashes. Thanks for sharing
Ahaha love that glad you’re enjoying 😊
Good progress there 👏 👍
Thankyou! 😊

Never used epoxy primer before but I do plan on getting some for the external bodywork allot of people swear by the stuff now!
LOOKING GOOD WELL DONE
Thanks 😊

Amazing dedication. When they finally raise the titanic I'm sure they'll give you a call to fix her up ! !
Thankyou once again for the kind words!
I recommend Upol 2# Zinc Rich Weld Through Primer -better than that red oxide.

Stag V8 in a TR7 !
You should consider to buy a gas saver.
These devices are quite effective with spot welding as you stop and start welding again and again.

Modern red oxide is crap you should look at a epoxy like jotun 90.
Thanks I’ll look into it 😊
