I rented a 2024 Altima this yr. As soon as I opened the door, before even sitting inside I thought to myself that it felt like a basic rental car. It looks stylish on the exterior and has decently comfortable front seats, but even a Kia Forte that I rented in 2021 felt much nicer to be inside of, it had a nicer console and and even seemed premium compared to the Altima. The gas mileage on the Altima was very good - you wont notice the gauge moving much driving on the highway. While it gets up to speed adequately on the highway, it drones and feels like you're driving a car that doesn't have a great relationship with the road or with the driver in terms of responsiveness and feedback. I viewed it as a car that's certainly worth paying 13-15k for which is why leasing this for 3 yrs. would be the most realistic thing I'd do as it would be nearly half of the MSRP or buying a CPO one if I didn't think that I'd have to fret about the CVT breakdown and costs. I wouldn't be proud to own it new by saying that I spent 30k on it.
I have a 2023 SL model from what I'm seeing from the 2024. Nothing really changed. I might as well stay with my 2023 paid off only 20,000 miles. I'm good.
Drove a 2024 SV trim as a rental. This is the most uninspiring vehicle I've ever driven. Feels ultra cheap, doesn't ride particularly comfortably and the materials feel like they were pulled right out from the budget bin. The CVT makes the engine loudly drone under load and the vehicle feels more sluggish than a 2011 Corolla we once owned. For a brand that advertises 'performance' and 'sportiness', this thing is an embarrassment.
