      Hi Hailey, Thank you for your comment! Prepping cloth diapers and inserts opens up fibres to ensure adequate absorbency, and whether you are using pocket or cover diapers, it's important to always make sure that you are prepping your both the shell, and the inserts. So excited to be apart of your cloth diaper journey!

    When prepping diapers & washing 3-4 times before use, do you use detergent with every cycle except the last to just rinse?

      @@NorasNursery the link you provided does not answer the question above, which I wanted an answer to as well. Do you use detergent with every cycle when prepping the diapers for first use?

      @@idesiraev5156 Yes, you use detergent with the first three washes with new diapers. Good luck mama!

    You can reuse both cloth diaper and the inner insert ?

    • @NorasNursery
      @NorasNursery  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You want to follow the rinsing/washing recommendations from this video, and make sure you are washing your diapers/inserts every 2-3 days, but yes, when using reusable cloth diapers, both the diaper, and the inserts are reusable!

    just got my diapers delivered and trying to get a wash routine in place before baby is here (hopefully soon, i'm overdue lol) but i'm wondering how much detergent to use? some resources say to follow what's on the packaging of my detergent. is this what you recommend? thank you!

    Why is hot water not recommended? Doesn't the heat kill bacteria?

    • @NorasNursery
      @NorasNursery  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello, thank you for your question. We recommend a water temperature of 95F for regular routine washes. For heavy soiled cloth diapers, we recommend a temperature of nothing higher than 115F. Extremely high temperatures can cause damage to the TPU (water proof) layer on the diapers, affecting absorbency.

    So when you say ‘rinse solids’, you mean when the baby starts eating solid food? Not new born poop, correct?

    • @softkitten0139
      @softkitten0139 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      From what I have read, if your baby is exclusively breastfed there is no need to rinse the diaper at all. It can be thrown straight into the wash no problem. Anything besides that- whether formula fed or a toddler transitioned to solid foods, may need to have their diaper rinsed before being put in the wash. Hope this helps!

    • @NorasNursery
      @NorasNursery  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is correct!

    No way I'm washing new diapers 3-4 times before use, it says wash once before use - I don't understand why such excess.

    • @NorasNursery
      @NorasNursery  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      This is an initial step that should be taken to rinse away any natural oils found on fabrics. Prepping cloth diapers also opens up fibres to ensure adequate absorbency. It only needs to be done once and can be done with other laundry.
