- This was NOT what I expected...
A new player experiences the Hildibrand questline in Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn for the very first time. After playing through the base game and completing the FF14 ARR 2.0 main story quest (and having the MSQ break my heart) I decided it was time for a break from the serious pace of the story and try out some of the more light hearted, funny and frankly incredible side story quest content in Final Fantasy's MMORPG.

Having played MMORPG's for over 20 years and being a long time World of Warcraft player from vanilla classic up to the latest expansion The War Within, I have seen and played A LOT of different types of quest in games over the years, but nothing at all has ever come close to the Hildibrand questlines in FFXIV.
This is my first time playing through the entire Hildibrand Episode One questline in FFXIV: A Realm Reborn, from start to finish, live on stream with all my honest and genuine reactions as a sprout, a New Player experiences Hildibrand for the first time!

The Hildebrand quests are like a fusion of every great detective comedy of the 1900s. There’s DNA from Ace Ventura, Pink Panther, Naked Gun and others while also managing to have a compelling and workable mystery at it’s core.
Oh thank god someone finally told a streamer to start with these quests it makes it so much better

If you like these, you should do a video on the Delivery Moogle quests. It includes a segment with the same vibes as the Godbert introduction.
"How do Lalafells get on tall mounts?" You have to remember that lalas can jump twice as high and far, proportionately, as the other races. And they've got upper body strength to match a Highlander. (And, sometimes, they get a Roe buddy to throw them up onto the mount. XD )

Want to hear a funny bit of lore? It’s canon that Lalafells fling each other to grab fruit from tall trees that they can’t reach. It’s hilarious.
@@acgearsandarms1343 Given their history and biology, I think it's reasonable to guess that lalas were an arboreal race at some point, back when they lived on the South Seas isles. That is, they lived among the jungle treetops and jumped and swung between them. A lot of things about lalas make more sense if you put them in that context.
13:30 if you wish to see Hildy flying to Dalamud, check out the Hildy 1.0 quest lines. It was the final quest we were graced with before the servers shut down in 1.23b lol.
The amazing thing is that they just incrementally make each new episode MORE insane and whacky than the last... Hildibrand is the gift that keeps on giving.

I’m honestly impressed, not a lot of people know that The Monsters of Bronze Lake and The Case of the Fainting Blacksmith are secret parts of this questline

I hated that questline sooooooo much.... I did it on one go from ARR to EW, and gosh that was a slug. It's not at all my humor, and i ended skipping most of the cinematics at the end.
i mean its optional content if its not your thing you dont need to do it
