Looks like Chairman Raj Singh got twitchy and decided to dismiss JA...I know Hartlepool are 17th and not in good form but JA has a good record and what he did with York was sensational so you'd have thought he'd have been given at least the season to get them playing...That's football these days I guess though 🙄🤔
Since you're a Sheffield Wednesday fan, one of my earliest football memories (not the first but not far off), was coming from 0-2 down to beating Wednesday 3-2 on the final day of the season in 1991 to become division 2 champions. Last minute penalty, pitch invasion, amazing scenes.
@@aroundthegrounds1 Yeah, Oldham 1st, West Ham 2nd, Wednesday 3rd for automatic spots. Notts County won the playoffs. West Ham were already celebrating because they thought they were champions since Latics were losing, pulled it back to 2-2 and then a penalty in 92nd minute, given away by... of all players... John Sheridan.
Great fan culture in this league Lee. Too many big teams fighting to get back into the league mste. Have already voted for yourself and Matt in different categories so good luck with the awards. Will be watching Wednesday later this afternoon on my stream, after the Gills of course. Having only just turned my phone on, will watch your blog with Matt Boosey later. Healthy new year mate, and congrats for already reaching over 5000 subscribers. All the best Dave
Love the National League as u know Lee as I see it as an extension of League 2 with the quality of alot of the players, clubs, grounds etc etc...Great vlog to sign off 2023 pal and I know 2024 is gonna be an even bigger and better year for u and the channel my friend!!!... B4 u know it that 10k subs mark will be smashed and the fact you get recognised wherever you vlog is proof the channel is growing week on week!!!...Well done pal it's totally deserved 👏🏻👏🏻 My first footy memory was watching the mighty bantams beat First Division Everton 3-1 in a league cup game (littlewoods cup back then) at VP in Dec 1988...Was only 9 then and my love for the bantams has never dampened since!!!...UPTFC 🐓🐔⚽️😍
@wobblybobengland with your history and our history in the league I'd agree but I'm speaking as a collective when I say I Love the National League...it's a far cry from the old vauxhall conference days and it's meant as a genuine compliment to all that partake in that league...Best of luck to you Latics for your promotion push this season and never say never in 2024 u could be back playing in League 2!!!...Happy New Year All...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 UPTFC 🐓🐔😍

Oldham fan here first ever was Southampton v Liverpool at the Dell in the Archers Rd .Then we moved North and I found Boundry Park and the Chaddy end..
Happy new year Lee mate! Its not my first memory of football that stands out the most for me, I was already playing at the time - both at a club as well as on the pitch just 100 metres from home. But here it goes. My dad used to go games and when the weather was decent enough he drove to town on his Laverda 500cc and fact is he never "forced" it upon me, nor did he tell me what club to support. But one day I asked if I could come with him, loved going on trips on that Laverda with him and I figured it was time to go and see the club I in some way supported already. Still remeber walking up them steps to the upper tier of Ullevi Stadium, massive f-ing ground for a second division team btw. The air filled with hot coffee, hot dogs in buns, cigarette smoke. And of course winning the game and me being a bit surprised since we played the reserves keeper. That season we went on to win that division and return to the top tier, smallest possble margin and on an over time penalty shot. Our local rivals were playing away and their game was already over and they were promoted for a few minutes. Looking back today it's hilarious!! And later that year I got a nice little book with all the autographs from the players. It's still around somewhere after 40+ years.
top vlog again mate you need gloves in August at Oldham be glad when they are back in the efl where they belong it was always a good local away day with plenty of rivalry . My first foot ball memory not sure what age i was year it was but my dad took me to city from being four year old so 1965 onwards i remember being in the Bradford end a Tuesday night match and we were stood to the left of the goal Norman Corner hit a shot and it was that wide it hit my Dad bang in the middle of his forehead, Happy new year told you that you would get 5k for Christmas keep it up
