Shauf’s chord progressions in contrast to other artists’ sound somehow weird & new, and so warm & familiar at the same time; it’s like meeting with a friend you haven’t seen in 30 years. ‘The Party’ is just so nice.
It truly does sound like a song you knew about once upon a time and re-listened to recently, right? I think the album is a landmark for music, personally.
This guy has such a unique voice... love it! I keep listening to this over and over. The people that don’t like his voice probably know nothing about being unique and like the same old stuff all the time. This guy shows that he’s not a follower of others but wants to make his own unique sound. I think it’s great!
@@RicardoMontania you think so? I'll have to give a listen again. It's possible but I think the style is unique. I never use auto tune because I hate it. Less auto tune, more reality is what I say
@@RicardoMontania it is possible there is a small amount of auto tune compared to what rap uses.... But if you can sing crisp like me, singing it without auto tune works. I may post a cover showing so. I've played guitar for 20 years and sang for 7.
@@Kylegatzke1997 At 0:49 you can hear it when he first starts to sing, that kind of robotic note jump. But still I wouldn't discredit the use of auto tune, it's just a tool nowadays, it's just been polished to sound better I guess... It's still a beautiful song no doubt about that 💓

+Jeremy Head dude, this version has a whole different vibe to it. The guitar playing the trumpet part sounds so much more haunting. I frickin love this version. Amazeballs
+Jeremy Head +CunningHammer yeah, wouldn't say this version is better than the studio by *miles*, but it's real refreshing. seems like any time he plays anything live he's got different players, different instruments substituting for other things, different arrangements. real nice.

There’s a lot of Beatles influence here.
Very Mc Cartney & Wings
I'm addicted to this song. Glad that I found this live version
Telling my friends about the album "the party" is life for me.
Facinating expressions on his face!
love how the song harmony balanced between minor and major

I think it's great too. Such a lovely song this is.

mix sounds fuckin great ..so rare with these radio shows
His trusted bass player is always there by his side! Love this talented young artist

So inexpressive... but at the same time he transmits tons of emotions... Amazing interpreation, I pray for more music like this ♪
His voice sounds almost identical to the music video 😲

does any one know what that god damn snare is? sound greaaaatttt
this particular channel always has fuckin grade A mixes, you can thank the engineer. but yeah that snare is top
look like a early/mid 50s wfl mahogany snare
I find Andy's voice unclear and narrow. On NPR, with just a condenser microphone in front of him makes both his voice and the guitar very bright.
What are you listening through? Because his voice sounds clear as anything on my studio monitors.
Sennheiser HD-600 ! I don't think it's our taste speaking, anyway listen to the NPR recording and tell me which you actually find brighter
Damn, negan knows how to hit a snare
lucille kept punching holes, so he had to start using sticks to bash heads
Genius,with Gilbert O'sullivan voice
sounds just the same in the music video, what a talented guy
It would appear their drummer joined Team Zissou!
nice
Got a little crush on Andy Shauf...
最高
that face is beautiful!
fuckin masterful boys
Amazing performance as always but I wish the end were a bit heavier it felt like it maybe needed a bit more distortion on the guitar and bass
The album version of the song is a bit heavier, so i like that this has a different sound.
these guys are playing like they got a baby sleeping upstairs

Does anybody know what pedal Shauf is using? Some kind of Chorus?
Almost. I am sure it is some kind of Vibrato. Think about a Chorus but whithout the dry signal mixed in.
Anyone know what model the bass and guitar are?
GtrGuy99 Harmony H81 and Hofner violin bass
What guitar is that
Harmony rebel

He's from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. So no.
He said in interviews that he has trouble speaking, so he might have a minor speech impediment.
