@@chanteadams4826 I just started the She Scent It line which has no protein. They are a few dollars less in price than Miche which I was first contemplating in buying until I saw so many good reviews for She Scent It. If this does not give me the results that I need, I will get Miche. Thanks for the look out, sis.
I like the video BUT please list yourr products. I had 12 inches cut off due to this protein overload, thank goodness the bob is in style. I still deal qith breakage because every thing has some form of protein in it. Even relaxers have protein in them.
Thank you Kierra for this video, coz protein overload is where i'm at right now, but as my hair is already short i'll just be going to the Barbers again soon and cut it all off. But your tips are excellent. Gonna go through my products right now and check for protein. 👍
Oh no! Do you know your hair type, Such as, if it’s low or high Porosity? Because my hair is low Porosity and my hair hates shea butter based, coconut oil based, and glycerin, heavy oils products... it causes my hair to break off and feel dry
@Jerrard McMillan I'm dealing with protein overload to. I've been using Jamaican BLACK Castor Oul line and every product from that line has protein in it. I got rid of those products and only using protein free products now except for my hair mayonnaise I use once a month or every 2 months. What's been helping me is hot oil treatments and moisturizing/sealing. One week I seal with oil. The next week I seal with grease that doesn't have coconut oil in it. Coconut oil has protein in it. I seal with a oul mixture with Jamaican BLACK Castor oil in it to help with thickening hair and edges.
Clarify with sulfates, I’m using the Pantene repair and protect weekly. I’m skipping conditioning and deep conditioning because that is keeping the protein sealed in. The extra protein will naturally fall out, the shampoo will help. The conditioning and dc will just keep you in the cycle, I found that after 2 months of deep continuing with a dc that Included oil it did nothing for my hair. So I just moisturize with water and shampoo once a week. It’s the only thing helping my hair heal.
@@timewithkie we are besides ourselves We have washed twice since and her hair is feeling great and detangling is literally minimal... wash day right now 90 min to 2 hrs before it was 3.5 hours because so tangled!!
@@Pestopasta_ I had her on she moisture products for low porosity hair then didn’t realize shea moisture sold off their business where it was no longer blk owned and many or most of the products here in 🇨🇦 are loaded with protein leaving her hair stiff dry brittle.. I’ve detoxed with treseme products and re moisturized with Aussie as with a magnifying glass I see no protein products in these two. It worked! I watched many TH-cam videos before I realized how to recognize protein sensitive hair types and best products
De Rizos en Rizos yes wheat proteins too. Also panthenol (B5) and anything with “amino acids” in it. Although I’ve heard that hydrolyzed proteins are often tolerated by protein sensitive folks but I didn’t want to take the chance.
Personally, I've found that my hair does NOT like wheat proteins. My hair prefers silk proteins, amino or hydrolized. I try to remember to read the labels (I am a product junkie to the bone :( ). So maybe try using only one type of protein and see if you see a difference. Also, over time, diet and vitamins/supplements might make a difference too. I just tried the pull test earlier today and my hair would NOT stretch nor would it break, it was just a SUPER strong strand! It freaked me out! I've been taking hair vitamins and gelatin for several months and just now noticed a difference. Before, my hair would stretch a lot and then break. Check your meds too. I think I have some protein overload because back around February, I tried a DIY black rice protein pack and I used black rice water for a while and my hair texture and feel have never been the same since. :( So here I am on TH-cam and googling for advice. HTH :)
The problem is finding protein free products. None of the videos give recommendations.
I use the generic Matrix Biolage conditioning balm and it is very moisturizing
L’Oréal has a live in without protein, check the entire range for more.
S. Jones Miche deep conditioner is amazing!
S. Jones TGIN Honey Miracle Mask too

@Jerrard McMillan okay my hair doesn't like coconut oil either. It dries my hair out.

Girl yes! You have to learn about that protein because that’s the reason why some people hair is breaking and dry... Thanks for tuning in ✨❤️
