December 1968 ♥ ... < my mom (14 years old) was attending! She worked backstage to earn some money for her flight to the US (Woodstock 1969).

John does a great lead guitar on Get Back. One of their best guitar solos

1968, what a year. My first 2 concerts were Jimi Hendrix and Cream. Cream I believe had already played their last show by the time this was made.

John says they all played much better in the late 50s and early 60s. Once Beatlemania started all their playing abilities 'Went to shit" as John put it. Lennon is definitely one of the best rhythm guitarists (all my loving is known for the patterns) but John would always say, "Whatever I can play, George can play better'. Plus, Paul was a great guitarist too. George was good enough to audition when he was 13 years old to a 16 year old John, and impressed him enough to say, "you're in" on the spot. George eventually invented his own slide style that is so distinct, nobody can mimic is properly. The best showcase for the Beatles guitar playing is the song "THE END" on Abbey road. It Starts with George, then Paul, then John, trading solo lines (plus Ringo's ONLY drum solo) all 3 excellent at the blues pentatonic scale. Ringo was by far the most "technically gifted" on his instrument, The 3 on guitars and "C" piano" were intermediate but not technical masters of their instruments. (admittedly ). They were great songwriters and all 4 were lead singers. They were great at inventing simple, memorable melodies and great imagery with the lyrics.

This was 1968, John claims he officially left the band in Sept. of 69, but he band ended in APril of 1970. Clapton played a few Gibson's in the 60s, including "Lucy" the Les Paul he played on "while my guitar gently weeps". George Harrison gave him that guitar. It was later in the 1970s when Clapton started leaning towards the Strat on a regular basis. There was no such thing as music "videos' at this time but bands did make their own movies. "Rock and Roll circus" had quite a few acts in it, plus, The stones, the Beatles, Clapton were all good friends who toured England before any of them were international acts.

Lennon used that Casino as pretty much his only guitar from Revolver all the way to the end of the Beatles (And beyond). It was original a sunburst but John stripped the paint in early or mid 1968

Tony Iommi played with Jethro Tull at that time too.
