I visit A Bike Thing and get my R1250GS fitted with a Jekyll and Hyde exhaust and Weiser Indicators

  • The standard BMW R1250GS indicators are not totally safe, the on all the time orange glow at the front can be confused by drivers thinking you are signaling when you are not. The rear indicators are difficult to see when braking as they are combined brake lights. The Weiser indicators sort this totally... So i visited Steve and Tom at A Bike Thing where they fitted not just the Weisers but also the most superb Jekyll and Hyde exhaust, now I can ride quieter than a standard R1250GS and at a push of a button much louder than standard... fen Tour is a Happy Bunny! Also why not check out my video from 3 years ago at A Bike Thing when I got lots of tasty Denali lights fitted to my R1200GS.

Oh no - you’ve spent that money so no K16 now! After so much time on loud Harleys, I really appreciate the sound of the stock 1250 exhaust. Are the 4 LED lights on the front Denalis? Great looking shop and nice ride through the villages 👍

K1600 makes the GS feel clunky, but apart from that the GS is still plenty fast enough, better for corners and still just the job for a passenger. The super quiet setting is nice as I can now trickle along listening to the birds, and yes the lights are Denali and at night work a treat.

I've just looked at Steve's website, over £1600 for an exhaust (admittedly fitted) is certainly more than a lot would be prepared to pay. Me being a cheapskate would just pick a higher or lower gear 😂 His stuff is top end though and he's posted loads on TH-cam for free that's very helpful (e.g
GS/GSA panel removal) so if you're after premium accessories for your bike he should be on anyone's shortlist. As for the indicators, that's a problem created (by the EU or BMW?) that wasn't there before as my 2020 GS has indicators and a brake light that work independently of each other which must be a tad annoying (and possibly dangerous) for those with the latest GS/GSA

yup it is not a cheap exhaust, and totally not needed... But I am very happy with the volume control, the quiet setting is becoming my favorite! The indicators are deffo a little dangerous IMHO, so £400 later it's sorted. But really it should be like it was as you say pre 2020. Cheers...

@@FenTour if they could make one to fit the wife/partner/husband he'd be a billionaire in no time! As you say the indicators are definitely not an improvement over the older version

What about some nice Denali lights on the Bonnie? Then you could sample the ride and grind too!

@@FenTour I'm same, have 2 of them, and an adventure bike for the pure comfort - but can't resist a big muscle bike, just love the gsx, reminds me of being young.
