  • Hello TH-cam! And welcome too part two. In this video we are talking about how to make your crunchy WPL full metal kit axles super smooth and running free in minutes. These tips work most of the time in my experience and can take out a lot of the frustration in trying to get the perfect transmission of power. I've used these methods quite a few times with some success so i'd thought i would share it. Enjoy!

Nice , Did the same thing , found too , to make them Super smooth ... I took the open end of the diff like you show in your video, throw a bit of molly grease in there AND then next hook up my Cordless drill to the Axle end AWHILE holding the housing run the diff for a few minutes at various speeds ( not overspending) forward and reverse .... and Wow super smooth ... like a Pre Run Brake-in ..
Clean out your grease ( to remove any brake in debris ) and grease with Synthetic grease so that in the cooler temps it wont thicken and take performance away...
Cheers 🥂 Great job frm 🇨🇦

I have heard of people running them in with a drill. I've built up quite a few now and nearly all of them have been to tight. I love WPL but the quality can be shocking sometimes. Even on the supposed upgrade parts. Thanks for the comment! 👍

Nice job on those, they can be a bit clunky

They can be a bit hit and miss with regards to quality I find. But a little patience and you can have them running quite smooth. 👍

My problem was the grub screws slide and within seconds no matter what I do the right rear wheel is loose, I ended up just putting the plastic tipped metal gear axels from the rtr in.. only for my rear. The from axel has zero issues with the metal tips.

I must admit that's a new one on me. Bi t of locktite on the grub screws not help?

@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 no I tried two types of blues and I didn't wanna order red just for that. I ended up replacing the front with the rtr axels too. My other one has the wpl plastic portals and it's actually pretty nice.

Another method that also work is add a thin layer of paper between axle housing and axle pinion cup, paper thickness may different from one to other

Yes I have heard of that method. I'm to lazy to make a gasket though! 😀👍

@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 hahaha yeah, also the paper wont hold for long term if you submerge in water too often

Can you put a shim on the opposite side you filed, to hold the mesh open without play?
