      Can confirm. Amazing quality at this price point. Pretty light, good quality plastics nothing brittle, canister and filters can all be disassembled by hand.
      Not sure what the reviewer is going on about it not being a sealed system. It appears he is applying positive pressure to the inside of the vacuum? If so well no shit its gonna leak because its not designed to work like that, so gis conclusions are wrong. When it is operating normally, everything inside is under negative pressure, so the whole test he is conducting is invalid.
      The weird double vortex seems to work quite well at capturing dust as fine as baking powder on the inside vortex.

    I've been using this daily at the liquor store I manage on Berber carpets for almost a year. Haven't had any issues with anything breaking other than scratches. I'm picking up mostly fine dirt so it does bypass the cyclone quite badly, but nowhere near as bad as the two Tempos we also have, and the performance is acceptable. For the price it's not a bad vacuum that has stood the short test of time I've used it.

    I just purchased one of these 2 days ago and it is the BEST vacuum I've ever owned. I have, over the years, owned Hoovers, Eurekas, Electrolux, Bissels and 2 very expensive Kirbys. I paid $54 for this one and it is, by far, better than all the rest combined ~ even comparing it other Bissells. When using it for the first time, I didn't know whether to be excited or ashamed at the amount of dirt and hair it picked up. Trying it on a small area of carpet ( 6' x 6' ) I filled up the container. If it continues to work this well I will be one happy camper.

    I love this vacuum . I have had it 3+ years and it’s still going strong. Started kicking out dust which was MY fault in only today deciding to take apart and clean the filter. Which was super easy so shame on me. meaning even with neglecting this vacuum for three years it still was working. EVERY single time I vacuum I let out an audible “wow” when I see how much it picked up. (I have three dogs)
    So this is a great deal for first apartment, college, even long term bigger homes if you are on a budget. One day I’ll sink the money into one of those $300+ vacuums...maybe.
    And even if it dies tomorrow I will have felt I got it’s worth out of it.

    • @vidchic18
      @vidchic18 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, when it kicked out dust was it the filter?

    • @erintraicene7422
      @erintraicene7422 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      vidchic18 yes you have to take apart to clean your filter regularly. I was just really lazy with it.
      But it’s a simple fix and no fault of the vacuum. It just has no where to go with the dust it sucks up if your filter is occluded.

    I have had my Bissel Powerforce Helix for since January of 2018 (when I moved into my apartment). I have carpet everywhere except for my kitchen and two bathrooms (Two bedroom apartment). I can say, without a doubt, this vacuum is pretty decent for the price. Some people might get a bad unit and it losses suction fast, but mine has been going strong since 2018. I use mine at least once a week when I do my weekly cleaning. Most weeks, I use it twice just to keep up on the carpets. Not bad for the price. You're mileage may vary.

    For the money, this is an excellent vacuum cleaner!
    ---The suction hose is tangential (without any 90 degree bends) to the dust container, a good design which prevents it from clogging, and makes it SUPER easy to take apart if you do manage to clog it. (I picked up pecan shells and scattered string, which did actually manage to clog my machine. I was using it in the shop, because it's the only vacuum I have that can remove metal shavings from the concrete.)
    ---The upper filter is also easier to deal with.
    My old vacuums were a Bissel big green clean machine, and a Hoover Wind tunnel. Never have such big vacuums made such weak suction.

At first, I thought it was going to be great to vacuum but it just recycles the dust back out on the carpet and floor. We bought it at Walmart, my husband liked the price, so he bought it. We usually research the product before buying. But this time we didn't. Either I clean the whole thing out and return it
    or find a way to keep the dust in the machine. Thank you for this video.

    I have 2 Bissells:
    1...a 12B1 Powerforce Helix. On this one, I put Gorilla Tape on the upper clear plastic (above the dirt cup) at the point where it meets the dark plastic to eliminate or at least reduce dust blowout. I also wear a mask when vacuuming. I don’t have asthma but I do have allergies. Do the tape and a mask help with eliminating blowout? Or am I kidding myself?
    I also have:
    2...an 82H1 Cleanview Helix. But I can’t figure out how to fix the height adjuster on it. Have you made a video on how to fix that? I think you made a good video here.Thanks.

    I have the Helix Turbo Rewind, so this vacuum with just a couple extra bells and whistles. It's *fine*, but it seems to be allergic to its own belt. I've never had a vacuum just eject its belt from the motor as often as this one. I swear it used to happen half a dozen times every time I tried to vacuum our one bedroom apartment. Now, after replacing the belt, it happens less, but still often enough that I don't bother screwing in the bottom plate. Wonder if maybe it just needs a good cleaning? Maybe our model is defective? I dunno.

    I have a Bissell Powerforce Compact that initially was used when I lived at home with my mom, then my sibling and I roomed together for five years, and now he has moved out of state and I still have it. I don't hate it's cleaning abilities, but the container for the dirt has a broken latch, meaning if I don't remember to pick it up from the bottom/mouth of the contsiner, everything I've vaccumed will just barf back onto the floor. Because I also inherited this vacuum late, putting its pieces back together after emptying it has always been a struggle without having experienced them new. I always end up pulling a chair next to the trash can to work on cleaning it out and fitting it back together and I get a lot of dirt and dust on the trash can.
    Because Bissell unfortunately doesn't just offer a replacement cannister I can just buy, I've now bought the vacuum you reviewed here. Except for my bathrooms and kitchen, all floors in my apartment are carpet, with a rather thick rug under the couch. Seems this vacuum will be great for my needs. I had bought a cheap Bissell Turbo 3-in1 vac last night, but once I was home and could read reviews, I saw that stick vac wasn't going to cut it with lots of carpet and was best for simple hardwood jobs.
    I've not tried it yet, I'll be using it tomorrow, but I think I'm going to enjoy my Powerforce Helix.

    I had the Turbo model as my first vacuum when I moved out. It served me well for over 2 years, although it loved to eat through belts. I ended up wanting something more versatile and more reliable so I ended up restoring a Kirby Ultimate G as selling my Helix Turbo. But for the 60 or so bucks I paid for it, it served its purpose and i certainly felt like I got my use out of it.

      I've heard good things about Kirby vacuums, but their business model being that of an MLM makes it so I would never support them. Honestly, it sounds like with the favorable reviews of the devices, they really ought to just do away with that, but recruiting new victims into the pyramid is lucrative, so that won't be happening anytime soon.

    Even though I only have hard floors in my home, I actually own the bagged variant of this vacuum known as the Powerforce Bagged 1739, and I also have the older Powerforce Bagged 71Y7-V.
    I use both of them all the time, they still scatter debris from behind, but I don't mind that at all as long as the end results is a clean home, I use the Clean Fairy Fabric Filter bags in the 71y7-V and it does a good job keeping the air nice and clean, as well as the inside of the machine, which usually gets dirty from the normal paper bags.
    One big complaint about the 1739 is definitely the motor exhaust vent placement, which is notorious for blowing everything away from the front of the machine, and that was never an issue on the 71y7-V. Also, I don't care about what bags I am using in the 1739, so I am using the Febreeze bags, and yes, the inside of the machine isn't the cleanest.

    Weird because I have this vacuum for my townhouse and it works excellent picks up everything from my hardwood floor downstairs the turbo brush is great for my stairs the height adjustment works and it picks up tons of hair/dust out of the carpets. About it not being totally sealed you can easily fix that problem with attaching your own custom rubber gasket, gives it even more suction as well!

    Can you explain your leak test please? It looks like you are doing a positive pressure test. That would be irrelevant for when it's operating (in terms of dust escaping), and it's not clear how much dust would fall out while this vacuum is not in use.

    • @VacuumWars
      @VacuumWars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have another video explaining it. Basically all the vacs that are supposed to pass this test (sealed system hepa vacs) pass it and all that are supposed to fail (either not sealed and no hepa) fail. The particles are at 5 microns. Hepa filters are .3 in the US

      The difference is noticeable. Our recreation centre went through three bissell powertraks in three years. All of which spit dust out many times just from powering on. You can smell the dust in the air from cleaning area rugs not good for breathing for sure. Then we got a shark nv800 and now we don't smell the dust or see it spitting out of the vacuum like previous ones.

      @@stonemagic540 They are not much heavier than any other high-end or mid-range unit on the market. I have owned about every one in existence. Plus, they are self-propelled, so you do not notice any weight at all during use. You do not have to purchase all the extra attachments, though the hose kit is nice to have and I do use them. I am not saying that I agree with any of the sales tactics or whatever, but the unit itself is excellent.

But yes the brush will spin even if you are using the hose attachment method so you can’t leave the brush roll on the carpet while you clean with the attachment, you gotta pick up the bottom of the vacuum from the floor so you don’t burn your carpet from friction

      No it’s just not possible for them to manufacture the vacuum that cheap and have that feature, takes too much R&D. When I bought this vacuum 1.5 years ago for my first apartment I had no idea about the particulates flying everywhere thing. At the time I had a full time job and I should have saved up for a better one with a hepa sealed bagless system but I’m doing it now instead on a college student budget. Now I’m selling this vacuum while it is still as functional as possible so someone else can take it to a good home and get some use from it.
