Haha welcome to hinkley and i also got a lot of help from your channel before finding my first job as Civil Engineer here in england so it is good to have you here, congrats for the new job.
Hi Greg, Your videos are so helpful. Congrats on your new job. Would greatly appreciate if you help us with drainage construction details/setting out, landscaping setting out/checks and finally m&e setting out and checks. Please it would be amazing if you could make a video on these.
So Happpy to know you are here. I am here as well at the HBS Building right next to the North Plaza. How come I haven't met you on Hinkley Campus? anyway, see you soon.
Hi Kola! I am not there anymore, left before Christmas, few reasons. I was on the HR containments. I don't think I'll be back there but if, I will let you know so we can go for a coffee 😁
Hi Blaine! Will try to do some to explain more, but as you can see I will be dealing with different things now :) Will do my best anyway to upload something!
Section engineer on the reactor building. RC concrete wall with PT ducts and loads of embedment elements. I will be mostly involved in Temporary works, but just started so will see. Yeah, loads of rebar there :)
@@SITENG do you think you need a degree to get to your level? I’m working 4 days per week and doing my degree 1 day per week at the minute. Working on residential builds so it’s not as complex!
Blaine, that's great! Can't imagine better thing then working and doing degree at the same time. You will learn there a lot and then you will jump on some more interesting projects 😁 Degree is a degree, you need knowledge and experience, so that's what you're getting right now.
Hi Punit! It depends on job really. Typically site engineer is doing setting out, qa checks and all other things like TW, take-offs etc. The biggest the job the less area for engineer and on this job - Hinkley, setting out engineers doing setting out only and site engineers checking quality etc.
Haha I just had a chance to watch my friend... Yes it's massive project 😁 and very challenging. Very pleased to be part of the team of HPC Today I will do inspection entire slab
Hi Maxwell! I bet there is, but you need to apply and look for it. Surveyors have a big separate team there and they're using interesting things there including 3D scans, surveys etc. Hope you will find something there😁 Try LinkedIn and ppl who work there.
Was contacted on LinkedIn, but you can try www.laingorourke.com/projects/united-kingdom/hinkley-point-c/ www.bouygues-uk.com/ I am sharing the link right now on linkedIn - they're recruiting now, go and see :)
Hi! Apply as an engineer? You have to start looking for assistant engineer job. If you're looking for HPC job for your trade check: hpcjobsservice.edfenergy.com/go/Job-Vacancies/3773001/
If you're looking for starting engineer position is something like: www.cv-library.co.uk/job/215616893/Assistant-Site-Engineer?candidate_apply_only=MTIzOTMwMjc6MTY0Mjk2MzEwMTqtUUOcQVLuMyAltlUUwroZ2ebv2yoGr6Jl-p5eivRBaQ&s=103849&
You can, best chances are for junior engineer/assistant engineer. You have to remember that to start working here in construction you need to have your NI number and CSCS card.
well, I wouldn't call it green energy too, as it's green till something happens and unfortunately it happens. From engineering perspective it's really good designed, but I know that design is only good till something wrong happens and then there is a new better design - the price for this change is too high I must agree
Hi Greg
You are one of the people who made me like this job and get more involved in construction

Hi Hari! There is a lot of opportunities here and I can't imagine not finding a job, but I myself can't promise, or guarantee you anything.
@@SITENG thanks, Is it good for a Civil Engineer to do Msc Project Management compared to Msc Construction project management 🤔
I can't tell which on is better, if it's project management you want to do, go for it. I am an engineer and will stay as an engineer 😁
