Wow, this is so bias it hurt, like all of your example beside maybe the commentary are in specific spot that will have that dialog, pause any other time in the game that isn't the invasion they won't say anything, harper doesn't have a much backstory because they needed to replace Kenny thank to justin roiland controversy, the gatterall is a tutorial so of course they add lines if you don't immediately give him it to him, the same can said for the aiming, seriously this is such an unfair comparison for a character that really only exist because they can't really use kenny anymore.
You make valid points here, let me counter. I wanted to give specific examples where Kenny's humour was displayed, i.e., creative writing. The moments I selected were the main ones I could recall, as I previously created videos with those and they did well, also popular on TH-cam (by other creators). In my haste did I overlook the tutorial aspect, yes admittedly. However, that's why I gave further examples as the video went on, such as the waiting for Douglas example. Kenny was programmed to make funny dialogue multiple times while the player was afk. You can see evidence of this on my most popular video (if u wish). The aggravation with Kenny was he talked too much, but it was largely witty dialogue.
This is the crux of my argument, Harper has Zero witty dialogue, nothing. In fact the military joke shows the opposite, she's unfunny and after being casted with a SNL comedian, that is odd. The other thing I failed to touch on more in the video was that there's no emotion to the story, besides from Knifey. All the guns wanted G3 destroyed in the main game and this made for a funny experience, as interactions between them were constant. In this DLC the other guns won't even talk to Harper, I have a video of this, she's like "hey guys".. and nothing.
Being a replacement doesn't mean a copy, but honestly at least make her interesting. She is ex-military give her PTSD or something, nah "I have no empathy..etc". Please tell me, what is interesting about her, or appealing? I honestly want to know. Btw, this isn't a guy hating on women thing, not at all. I love Sweezy, she's funny and edgy, my go to gun tbh. I just expected more, that's all, and imho Kenny is better. Thanks for the comment 👍

Problem with Kenny Is his voice. JR in his famous usual way just slap familiar voices on new character and act like it's somebody brand new. But hearing Kenny talk just feels like he is just Morty, but a gun. Even stuttering like Morty. Voice of the character is as much important as personality. If i'm going to close my eyes and hear both of their voices then at least i can recognize Harper while with Kenny i just say Morty. Same thing was in previous game of this developers where JR used his Rick and Morty voices for other characters without much of the change.

Agreed, It doesn’t seem JR has the range to be someone else than a Rick and Morty character. However his humour is missed here, it does push the limits of vulgarity though 🤷♂️
JR is obviously an asshole but this citicism was always stupid, plenty of voice actors sound the same all the time like Patrick Warburton.
Modders, that's actually not so hard to do: Change back the 3d model of the new female gun and do a Morty voice deepfake with her voice lines. I loved High on Life but i'm not playing this one if the gonna ignore the previous gun protagonist, idc if Roiland is a creep.
They could just do like Rick and Morty and hire that one Tiktok guy that does Roiland voice impressions btw

The JR aside and focus on the characters Kenny and Harper. Kenny had a lot more personality and Harper is just so generic and boring

@@FancyEgg I would love Kenny to return even with a different VA but same humor. DLC would be a way better way to bring him back rather then just write him off as the hunter just happen to drop him.
Gonna be honest, Harper is slightly better than Kenny, mainly because she isn’t talking for majority of the game and is also chill. But for gameplay purposes they both play exactly the same; there should be no complaints for the how the game plays. Other than that Kenny just isn’t fun to have to listen to every time

Let me blow your mind then. There’s a black ball item that mention a possible future dlc called ‘New Orleans’. Also in the files the dlc folder is labeled ‘dlc1’ indicating future DLCs. Also dialogue from gene in the dlc insinuates that Lizzie is in some trouble. Now with the negativity Harper gets due to her character being boring (intentionally) in comparison to Kenny, I think this all leaves the door open for JR to sort out the court drama and get back to being Kenny in dlc finding his sister in New Orleans.
@@FancyEgg I believe that they had all that planned but I just don't see them bringing JR back. The stuff he got himself into is serious shit and no serious company can be attached to that. Investors, medua companys, advertisers, etc wont want to work with them if he is there unfortunately. Same thing happen to my favorite podcast recently Last Podcast on the Left. One of their hosts had allegations made about him and the show had to unfortunately cut professional ties. It sucks but its about protecting the future business.

I honestly prefer Harper. She's one of the few characters who don't drone on and on, and never seem to shut up in this game. Less is more. I also like that she looks like an axolotl.
