1:30 - Yes, Syama Pedersen. One guy, he did the whole thing alone. This was released in.... five parts, I think it was? And each part would take like six or more months to complete. We waited with great patience for each part back in the day and whenever a new bit dropped there was much rejoicing :)
He was then offered a position at Games Workshop and worked there for a couple of years. I did read he left GW and did the work on Secret Level under Blur Studios. His influence on the Secret Level episode is noticable.
To say he's left a mark on the Warhammer community is an understatement. Astartes is a masterpiece and a landmark event imo.
Edit: 5:04 - it's a big galaxy, there's a LOT of enemies out there, and the powerscaling goes from big-boy-with-big-gun to angry-god-punches-a-sun. 40K has a loooooong and rich history and a LOT of lore, and it's all a big fun mess of hyperbolic numbers and logistics and frankly becomes ridiculous sometimes. All good fun in the end, but yes, yes there are plenty of things out there that can overpower a Space Marine. Hell, the Imperium have their own big banana boys that make regular Space Marines look like chumps. Keep looking at 40K content(Bricky, Luetin, and more), you'll get the gist of it.
Edit: 7:04 - you can see the little mechanic gears and lenses inside his eye cover when he took that damage. His eye is fine, his cover took a hit.
Edit: 9:52 - good catch. Yes, possessed psyker. Big no no, best to eliminate immediately or reality might end up having a new hole.

I actually choked @ "angry-god-punches-a-sun". That's hysterical! You're the 3rd person to mention "Bricky". If this video does well then I'll look into doing more of his videos.
p.s. When i play Warhammer 40k Inquisitor/Martyr (so many names and words)....I always play as a Psyker. I have a flame wand(?) that sprays fire at close distance and shots fire-bombs at range. My character is still pretty squishy though as my armor isn't the best. Trying to figure out what aspects to focus on.

The good thing about 40K is that everything is so over the top that you get superhuman warriors that can crush a man's skull with one hand and wade through hordes of normal humans, but every faction is that over the top, so you still regularly have the supermen being turned into giblets by the dozens. Granted, this happens a lot more in the novels than games, just because you don't usually want your protagonist in your power fantasy to feel too vulnerable.

I've never heard the phrase "power fantasy" before but this series seems to exemplify that doesn't it?!?

2:57 Nope. That sniper was killed almost immediately after he was introduced. That scene _really_ requires you to pay close attention to understand what's going on. You don't have it in your edit, but when the sniper starts shooting through the wall, we see the marine with the black chevrons stop. The marine behind him turns around and starts running away. He's running to flank the sniper. We then see a side profile of the sniper. With every shot he takes the muzzle flash reveals a marine in the background getting closer. When he gets close enough, we see a shot of the marine shooting.

Yeah, it's hard to catch these little details on a first watch. There's so much happening in trying to take it all in and not sure where to focus. Thanks for watching
