Thanks for taking the time, man this was an excellent video!! I thought I had to use a friend with a press, but I’m definitely getting that kit from O’Reilly. For those reading the comments and wondering the current rental price for the kit is $369 which is returned to you when you bring the tool back. So it’s a free rental.

You said it didn’t matter which way you put the bearing in. With a wheel speed sensor it does matter. One side of the bearing has a magnetic ring the other side does not. If the metal ring is not facing the speed sensor then the speed sensor won’t work.

I've followed your methods and used the exact hub/bearing puller tool loaner from O'reilly Evertough kit # 67213. The difference in method was that I sprayed Kroil kano oil on everything then waited. Everything came out very smoothly. To remove the snap ring I had used a 90degree needle nose pliers. Also i had made two cuts, opposite of each other on the race. Thank you for your video

Excellent. I like the way you used the bearing removal tool. It went smoothly and no hydraulic press needed.

Buying the impact wrench and compressor was well worth the money.
Machine shop pressing a bearing was 90 bucks, ten years ago where I live.

Props to you. I just watched this and walked through the install. Helped me a ton. Although mine is a 2011, it's the same process. O'Reilly's rented free. Best program ever.

Thanks for the video. Now I know the tool use for this tough project and where to borrow. For the 2013 Sienna the bearing won't come out like that. Some part of it belongs to steering knuckle. So, to replace the hub or bearing, you need the entire steering knuckle. Duralast Steering and Suspension Knuckle DL698431

Thank you for doing this video! You did excellent job on explaining everything, showing all the steps and what parts you were using! Helped me out a ton on my 2010 sienna! Although I still needed my press to get them out cause my gun wasn't big enough or they were really stuck on but went back together great with that kit!

Mine were seized 6 hours for one side. I will opt for the whole knuckle with bearing already pressed on thanks tho!

Thank you for this video. I particularly appreciate you stating the pieces that you used and assembled to perform the steps while pulling and installing both the hub and bearing. This allowed me to fetch the appropriate pieces from the tool kit and assemble while listening to the audio by itself.

Center the axle spline so that the cutout for the dent in the hub nut is between two-wheel studs and not underneath a wheel stud.

  • @bubblerings

With O'Reilly tool, hub came out fine...
Even with my pneumatic 400 ft pound impact wrench, Bearing is not moving. WD-40 went in an hour before..
Retaining plate and snap ring are out.
Plate L fits into recess... Support ring U and plate H are as shown.
Any idea how to loosen this bearing??

My 2004 sienna is making a similar noise on the driver side. It gets louder on the highway. When I exit and park, the rim feels hot, and the disk brake is burning hot. Could it be the same problem? Just had the calipers and disks replaced, still doing the same.

Wow that was a lot of work. Reminded me of the rear wheel bearing repair I had to do on my old mountaineer. If I never had to do that job again it would be to soon.

    • @tedwu9354
      @tedwu9354 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I would just buy the whole assembly. I don't have a shop like this. All work done on this video is just to save the knuckle, I would save some time and headache after I spent time to remove the whole assembly from the CV axle.

It would have been better to "break" loose the bearing first with a VERY long extension before removing the knuckle from the vehicle . After that the impact wrench would have been more effective in continuing the removal process once the knuckle is off.

Excellent job. Alternative method unbolt knuckle from strut, this gives enough room to slip out axle. Then you can just use the bearing tool with the knuckle still attached saving several steps.
