Glad you are keeping the van! That’s a smart move. Rent keeps going up. I’m a 62 years old a single woman living in Dallas in a one bedroom and my rent just went up again this month to 1900! I feel like all I do is work to pay my rent. You are doing a great job as a caregiver. I did the same for my mother for many years. No help from my siblings. What a blessing you can live in the van and still be close by for your mom. Thank you for being so honest about your finances. It’s nice to see I’m not the only one just trying to keep a roof over my head. Sending you good thoughts and prayers.
Congratulations to Truly for the cat clock. I am glad you , Keith, and John are only taking a break and didn't break up for good. I love the way you three are goofy together. I'm glad you are still with Charlene. And I am glad it's still Ad-van-tures over 50. You all are alot of fun.
I am so happy for you! I do have my own home, however my son and his wife and new baby moved into it after my husband died in October. I still have a room in my house but my van "She Shed" is my salvation! I park it on the side of the house, plug in and sometimes I don't go into the house for days..... I love the solitude. Just me and my two naked cats living life on the side of the house.... I love your relationship with Joy. Makes me miss my mom so much! Stay Blessed pretty lady!
Yay, Charlene to the rescue! I'm glad this realization happened before you sold her because imagine trying to buy another van?! 😬 It's unfortunate how expensive it is to either buy or rent a place is these days! For me, I think living with anyone else would be difficult being that I've lived alone for several years now. Plus, I love my alone time and being able to retreat to my own space. Granted, this is me who lives in a small house. Now, if I had a huge multi-millionaire's house that'd be a different story, and in that case, I'd even invite you to live there too! 😁😊
I guess Charlene was not ready to leave you! I’m actually happy you are keeping her. Perfect apartment on wheels! Maybe some stream of income will increase for you. Manifest it. Congratulations to the clock winner!
Life can get so challenging. I have followed you many years and watched how you've overcome. Know what? You are still here! You are a survivor with style. I have no doubt you will overcome todays battles too. Just know you inspired many others to hang in there and battle on. Thank you for your story and hope there is a better tomorrow.
Go Charlene!!!! I personally think that is a perfect plan! Less money output for you, you have comfortable/familiar place to lay your head, and very close to Joy in case she needs you quickly!! The "less money output" for rent is 1 less thing to stress about!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
You are keeping your comfy sanctuary that provides you such freedom. Rent goes out the window and is gone forever. But just having the privacy of your own space and resting place is everything. Chuck must be doing flips😁👍
I'm so glad to hear you are keeping your van. As long as you have a safe place to park it, it is the best thing to have your own home. Renting a room is expensive and never pleasant!
Yayy all things happen for a reason! Thank goodness you had that option. I was afraid you were going to regret it so I’m glad you didn’t sell it. Everything will work out for you.
We're on such parallel tracks! I just joined my local gym and hired a trainer to help me get back into lifting. It's going OK so far, but man is it humbling!😁😁 In my area the going rate for a room rental is between $1,000-1,600. That used to be the amount for an entire apartment! 😣Parking for the van is why I ended up moving back in with family last summer, and just using the van as my daily driver (terrible idea because I put a ton of miles on her). It was just too hard to find safe, allowed overnight parking. I'm super grateful that I have a family home I can stay in while I figure out what's next for me for housing, so I completely understand what you're going through. I'll be selling my van too, but she's not on the market yet. Staying in Charlene isn't forever. You'll figure out the next right thing to be able to be near Joy and Jessie and have comfortable, affordable housing.
Life’s twists & turns...things happen for reason. You have lots of options, mostly because you make them, keep going with the flow. Love Joy. And your authenticity.
I completely understand you are going through difficult times but so glad you have decided to keep Charlene. Charlene is your salvation and know eventually you will be back on the road...Keep the faith and follow your heart❤
You are not the first TH-camr to report that they have not gotten TH-cam check yet this month. But I'm glad you may keep the van life. Love your channel.
I love you, I assumed you had looked into rentals before this. Actually, I thought maybe you were going to reinvest in a tiny home and a small piece of property. Maybe a tiny home would still be a possibility for you and Joy? Maybe just not as tiny? Yes, I am happy you're keeping Charlene because it's how we "met"! I think you'll be glad you did. I've been looking into tiny homes myself to put on my son's property. I couldn't do it otherwise, you wouldn't believe the prices people are charging tiny home owners for lot rent. Much more advantageous to buy an acre of land or an empty lot in town and not have to worry about it. Things have a way of working out, as a van lifer you have learned to roll with the punches. Congratulations to the cat clock winner. I've never wanted to win anything so much in my life, except the lottery, of course!😊❤
I know when I saw that sofa, my first thought was "maybe it more comfortable looking when it's let out into a bed'. My first sofa was a sofabed because I lived in an efficiency at that time and it was hard looking too but when let out it looked just like a regular full size bed😆
Yay, Charlene stays! I have a van too. It’s a conversion van and yeah it’s not really a daily driver and it’s gonna cost a bit to fix but I don’t want to get rid of it. I have a one bedroom apartment which I turned the living room into like an Airbnb type hotel room with my queen bed in it, but I make it every day and it looks good as long as you keep everything neat… then turned the bedroom into an office/guest room, and I wanted to put a daybed in there for the bed but someone gave me a bed for free. However, I’m probably going to get a daybed frame. My guests will feel comfortable and modern, even though my living room is eclectic and granny chic, very comfy and cozy.
Tracey itll be so cool to see you on that show. Ive watched it a couple of times. If you get on it ill definitely be watching.Keep on keeping on. Your a warrior!!!!!Ps i used to work at Walgreens all over the store!!!!
Oh girl! I can relate to your situation. I'm 57, FT remote worker, and primary carer for my 88yo dad. So glad I did NOT sell my house and move in with him 3yrs ago! You need your own space for your sanity! It's so important to get those breaks. Blessings to you. Best, Maria.

Here in Texas we have people who live full time in their RVs or vans at a camp ground. Its cheaper by the month than renting a sticks n bricks. No extra utilities at some campgrounds. Then drive a car back and forth to work. Youll figure it out.
I'm not sure whether to be happy for you, concerned about you, or just entertained by you. This time, probably all three in equal measures. I think the good news is that although you think you almost made a big mistake selling Charlene, you would do just fine either way. The big cash infusion would have easily made up for then having to spend more on a room or apartment than you think is reasonable, for a year or two. During that time, other good things would happen before you could ever end up broke and vanless. Keeping the van actually puts you in a more precarious financial position for a while, but I think you'll get through it just fine. The upside of keeping the van is that you know perfectly well how to use it to live well. Becoming a roomie or renting an apartment, is a big roll of the dice into the unknown, by comparison. Keeping the van helps you retain more control and certainty, I think. Selling it will remain an option by keeping it. Getting one back after selling it would be more difficult, and put you through the whole "fixing everything that's wrong" gamble versus having one that you've already gotten to be how you wish. Sorry I've not been watching/commenting lately. I spent April on a road trip to the eclipse in TX, visiting my friend Dee in Quartzsite, getting dental work done in Mexico, hiking in NV, and driving the 7500+ miles it took to do all that. Oh, and a highlight was having Kansas troopers make a bogus traffic stop, have a drug dog make a bogus drug alert, and have 4 cops do a warrantless search of my car loaded with eclipse expedition equipment. The only good thing I can say about them is that they were polite while trampling my rights, and they at least didn't plant any drugs in my car as I was almost expecting them to do. They just rummaged through from all 5 doors for maybe 15 or 20 minutes of a 40 minute stop, then said "You're right, there's nothing. Bye." And took off to leave me roadside repacking the Tetris puzzle that was my car. Don't EVER drive though Kansas, now that there are pot states (CO and MO) on either side of it, and KS is taking a "zero tolerance policy" as a reason to make bogus traffic stops and bogus "probable cause" alerts from puppet drug dogs, on anyone passing through.
Really glad you are keeping the van , to damn hard to replace stuff nowadays under the current ways we find ourselves with the economy . Best to wait an see how things pan out . :)
You made a good choice. I rented a room for 2 years before moving into my van. Living with several other people and dealing with a landlord like that can be hard. You'll be so much happier living in Charlene and not paying $750 a month.
I am sure that Charlene is ecstatic, and Chuck is going to party like its 1999. Finished my plans for taking zilla to L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site, where Leif Erickson landed a 1000 years ago in Newfoundland, in July. Can't wait.
It is the “ perfect “ solution. Don’t fight it. I know the $35k was gonna be a welcome money but this really does solve some apartment/ residence issues. Start looking for a place to permanently park like a friends driveway where you could pay a little rent and have a little semi permanent living space. ( Daughter’s driveway ? Al’s driveway ? … etc ) but you can really have the best of both worlds. Hanging with joy - taking care of her and cooking healthy meals in her kitchen and then getting away to your own space. Yesterday was my birthday so I’m glad the realization happened on my birthday
I’ve seen Deal No Deal Island. That would be so cool to see you on that! Now you can mark off ND if you haven’t been there yet. Think ND is the less visited state. It’s always the one state that people haven’t been to. I’m excited you’re keeping Charlene! Get the boys to meet you out west in the winter. I think you would enjoy Charlene more if you got to see new places! Drive the coast of California! It’s the most beautiful part of the country I’ve ever seen! Arizona would be great for winter! There has to be more to see than the Wrinkle Ranch! 😆
Ha! I traveled all over the two winters before. I was in Sedona for a month each time and went through Utah, Montana, etc. sooo beautiful. Yeah, won’t spend a whole winter in just one place again. Especially like the wrinkle ranch 🤣🤣
You will be SOOOOO glad you kept your RV ..... I sold the most wonderful '95 Rexhall motorhome for a 5th wheel and I've missed it terribly..... it;s a terrific sense of independence......
Cha-Ching! Yes, it all adds up! Also, it has been very hard to find a place to store my van where I can still have access to it (only found large garages where I end up with all kinds of other vehicles). I have bought a couple handheld vacs for my van and I returned both. If you find one that actually works, please let me know! Going to try out my first ebike in a couple days!
Yes, it’s not just living in the van that’s hard, it’s everything to do with the van! I tried to find storage during the snowstorm when I first got back and couldn’t! Let me know how the Ebike goes!
@@AdvanturesOver50 The ebike I tried was the kind that you have to still pedal. I really liked it. I need to try other kinds before making a decision. Probably can't afford one this year anyway, too many things I need to get for my van yet!
Oh wow Tracey.......Friend to friend-too many projects and moving parts happening. You, Charlene and the road. get rid of everything else, even the waste of money trips to the camons. We love you and 100% support you!
Wow that's great news Tracey !!! I love my van but I also love my little cabin on the lake when I want to go home !! Maybe buy a building lot out in the boondocks and put a shed on it and park Charlene next to it !! I am so happy you're keeping the van, you've gained a lot of confidence in that van ,I guess it's kind of sentimental !! You're doing what I want to do except for the makeup thing LOL I would love to make travel videos !!! I know you don't do numbers but I'm a numbers guy and you have been steadily increase in your subscribers from the beginning because you are genuine !!! And you're easy to look at LOL 😉✌️♥️😎 PS you can start another channel call it fickle van life LOL 😂
Awww, thanks 💜 would love to get a little piece of land but that’s what I was going to do when I sold Charlene! Now that I’m not, I don’t have the funds. 😁
So glad you are keeping the van. You could have been paying $750 for just a bed since you had to share everything else and it might not have even been comfortable 😢 Who knows, you may take us along on some more adventures. Hang in there, you are doing great! Love your videos!
So glad you changed your mind about Charleen. The thought of her belonging to somebody else seem to be just wrong! For a quick second I did think about buying her, but it didn’t feel right she’s yours! ✌🏻💕
So glad your get to keep Charlene. How much do you see those e-bikes for? Ild really like to get one. But also I’m In Florida . So idk how much that would cost. Anyway if you can lmk I hope I could buy one. Love you guys ❤❤❤
I totally understand you need your own space. After a day with my Mom when she was still here, I would be so tired. It's like she took all my energy. Vampires.....😂🧛♀️
Do you have a friend that might let you and Charlene stay in their driveway? Aren’t there any programs that will pay you for being a caregiver for Joy?
Goooooood afternoon tracey, thats the best news ive heard all day, your keeping charlene thats great 😅 i dont think youll be sorry, everything is just to dam expensive now, imagine what it would cost to buy somethimg even comprable to charlene, good move tracey say hi to joy!❤❤
You're keeping Charlene!?!?!?! Mixed feelings I'm sure. TracEy I'm a "crab" when I don't get good sleep too. I would put (rent payment) money in a savings account for Charlene repairs and upgrades, tires, etc. Hopefully the Summer will bring good things! Congratulations to the cat clock winner!
I would love to buy the trike!! It would be so good for my health. How do I go about trying to do this? Thank you! So excited you're a van girl again!!
$700 to rent a room where you are, and $ 2500+ here in So Cal. It's insane. Plus, you'd have roommates, no real privacy. Glad you're keeping Charlene 👍
I use to own a Hyundai..its so cute listening to you say it. I'm going to let you in on a secret on how to remember the correct way to say it...this is how the dealership told me to remember it. HYUNDAI(HUNDAY) RYHMES WITH SUNDAY. 😉❤
Sucks your plans had to change but I’m sure there is a reason behind it. Maybe it wasn’t time for you to part ways with Charlene. Is it bad to be happy that you’re keeping her? lol cheers from SC.
I’m not sad but I had it set in my mind with the money I was going to start looking for a tiny house. No worries, just pivot and it will all work out 😁💜

Great job slowing down your decision long enough to have "no regrets" Very glad to hear you're keeping her. 🎉
You've put so much of yourself into Charlene and she has been your haven. The decor is beautiful.
Thank you 💜
Yay!!!! Soooooo glad you are keeping her!!! I think ots the BEST decision!!!
So happy Charlene is staying! ❤
Glad Charlene is staying in the family. ❤🚘

So you build trikes?, motorcycle trikes? If you do, would love to see them!!! Hang in there! The adventure never ends!!!😊
Smart move keeping Charlene. I was gonna be sad to see her go.

Glad you’re keeping the van Tracy!!!

Keeping Charlene is the best thing that you can do for yourself. Trust me I've went through the same thing and it was a huge mistake

glad your keeping Charlene! keep on truckin babe!
Awesome you’re keeping the van, you should do some adventures with it for the summer. Maybe a weekend trip nearby…
For $700.00 @ month you can probably rent a monthly space in an RV park. Check it out.
I paid 1800 for the year, water was shut off for winter months. However, they might not allow a van….
Everything will work out.. rent is KraZy! Keeping Charlene is a good choice in my opinion.

I am sending love from Newfoundland Canada . I wish I was living in Charlene with you.
Hey beautiful looking great, hope you're having a great day, ❤❤❤❤
Oh wow Tracey.......Friend to friend-too many projects and moving parts happening. You, Charlene and the road. get rid of everything else, even the waste of money trips to the camons. We love you and 100% support you!
I’m sorry the Living situation didn’t work out. But great that you didn’t sell Charlene! Hang in there!
Job for 25 years, now has come to an end in July, so we never know. Moving forward.
💜
Wow that's great news Tracey !!!
I love my van but I also love my little cabin on the lake when I want to go home !! Maybe buy a building lot out in the boondocks and put a shed on it and park Charlene next to it !!
I am so happy you're keeping the van, you've gained a lot of confidence in that van ,I guess it's kind of sentimental !!
You're doing what I want to do except for the makeup thing LOL
I would love to make travel videos !!!
I know you don't do numbers but I'm a numbers guy and you have been steadily increase in your subscribers from the beginning because you are genuine !!!
And you're easy to look at LOL 😉✌️♥️😎
PS you can start another channel call it fickle van life LOL 😂
Awww, thanks 💜 would love to get a little piece of land but that’s what I was going to do when I sold Charlene! Now that I’m not, I don’t have the funds. 😁
So glad you are keeping the van. You could have been paying $750 for just a bed since you had to share everything else and it might not have even been comfortable 😢
Who knows, you may take us along on some more adventures.
Hang in there, you are doing great!
Love your videos!
So glad you changed your mind about Charleen. The thought of her belonging to somebody else seem to be just wrong! For a quick second I did think about buying her, but it didn’t feel right she’s yours! ✌🏻💕
That was a close one….lol🤠
So glad your get to keep Charlene. How much do you see those e-bikes for? Ild really like to get one. But also I’m In Florida . So idk how much that would cost. Anyway if you can lmk I hope I could buy one. Love you guys ❤❤❤
I totally understand you need your own space. After a day with my Mom when she was still here, I would be so tired. It's like she took all my energy. Vampires.....😂🧛♀️
You are a lovely hot mess Tracey. I have to say I got a little anxiety from this video lol. I love u girl.
Imagine how I feel! 🤣🤣
Yeaaaaaaa .I knew you'd keep her lol
Deal or No Deal challenge is a great opportunity!! I do hope they select you.
What do you do for work? I would love to do the same things you are doing plz let me know.
Do you have a friend that might let you and Charlene stay in their driveway?
Aren’t there any programs that will pay you for being a caregiver for Joy?
Check-in your area for subsidized Housing. They go by your income as far as the amount of rent to pay
I am glad you’re keeping Charlene. Rents are very expensive.
Hang in there :)
Goooo
I would love to buy the trike!! It would be so good for my health. How do I go about trying to do this? Thank you! So excited you're a van girl again!!
Charlene is now in TOP condition now........ that's important
You can list it on outdoorsy for rent. I know a few vanlifers that did that with their first rig they built out. PASSIVE INCOME POTENTIAL IS HUGE!!!😊
Ahhh, good idea. I’ll be back living in it but I could stay with Joy for a bit to rent it out. Thanks!
