Everybody calls Sonic from Archie Comics, from Archie Sonic (in some cases I saw that there are people who just call him Archie), and the same applies to Fleetway Sonic, which to differentiate just from calling Super Sonic crazy/mad/evil, is more easy to call Fleetway Sonic. And it ended up popularizing that name of transformation. So it's kind of right to call him that.
