Zach my friend. Why you don't use the Google translate app for communicating is beyond me. You can even get them to speak in the phone and it will translate it right before you eyes lol... Also when learning a new language do not try to learn sentences at first.. first learn your 123's ABC's, days of the week and greetings and farewells. Once you learn the basics they will help you finish and comprehend sentences...

While she was cutting your hair she was talking to you about a killer barber I could read the captions so I knew what she was saying. Not often. I don’t have a lot of time between work and sleep.

I work a lot too and am doing that with Korean. Again, I'm not trying to rag on you. I just want to encourage you.
