There's gonna be free halftones, dtf, and simulated process type of apps and how to make them coming along next in this series.
Even with the more advanced products available I want people to be able to learn and get started for free... watching my videos is spending your time and I value that and think you should get something for it.
Knowledge is only possessed by sharing!

Hi! I love your work it’s really amazing. I am however having a little trouble in figuring out what program to use. I have a 4 color press and trying halftones for the first time. Is there a way I can a simulated process print with just 4 colors? I’m assuming I would have to print and design on a white shirt for the best results since I don’t have a space for an under base on a black shirt. Is there a particular video I should check out? I’ll be purchasing some of your packs once I figure out what I need to learn. What’s the main difference between the Screen Tone and Photo Tesselator?

Great software. I have a question about high white or also known as bump white. When we do seps is a vector base program, we never choke the high or bump white. can this be done with your program?

    • @MaxChromaColor

Currently the choke operation is only performed on the base in the Separation Station program, not on the other colors unless you run a manual choke or trap operation on them, but it does choke any color included in the base.
I could add an option to not choke a specific color, as I am familiar with what you mean where you keep the white layer lining up the same over the white since it doesn't need to be choked, so this could be useful to have a white base even for spot-color designs where you don't print the top-white or at least its the same without choke.

Hey what's goin on, I think it was kinda just too distracting for me and I felt like I should just stick with youtube and my website and keep making more videos. I've got a lot to keep me busy with the new software and really can't wait to start showing printing videos too. It's easy to contact me via e-mail or phone or through the youtube channel anyway.

Hey max, this is probably a dumb question, i should probably just follow my instincts. when you release an update, for your standalone software, whats the steps to properly update? Should the last version be uninstalled first? 😮 Can we expect an update function in the future? Loveing the work you have done so far, Thank you!

That's a great question really. I'm going to be setting up more specific download-pages on my website when you access the software... when logging in or going through the license-key portal. For the PC installers I will make sure they install separately and I'll be adding the different versions to the main download link of the webstore and then to the website download pages. It just takes a little work and I can make it so you won't need to go to the payhip webstore to access all the files or updates... I'm setting it so if you log in on my main website you'll be redirected to the correct pages that have links for you to download all the tools and resources and even videos that go with each tool, as well as see any updates available.
This way, you'll be able to access any version, and I'll make it so they can all be installed separately (without overwriting each other). Rather than make updates automatic or forced, I want to think about the best strategy for it and get user feedback about it like your question. The software runs offline and won't do any checks or connections online from anything it does, by design I want it to work this way. If I make some method to check for an update then it would be something where its trying to go to the website if you're online. I think it would be better to let the user click a button to check online for an update maybe, I suppose I could have an option if you really want it to auto-check or auto-update.
For the PC installer version I can set something up there as well, but I've got to set those versions so they install to separate folders for each version update and not overwrite each other.
On the login page for ScreenTone Eternal I just posted a new version of the Experimental Beta tests, and I will go over the update strategy and process in the video about the new test features. I'll have the version numbers now strictly set for any changes, but this way we can test and try new features in the experimental versions or beta versions without messing up the other installations. Before I make ScreenTone Eternal go to 1.0.5 with some of these new capabilities, I'll set it up so that each previous version is still available for installation and that multiple versions can be installed at the same time without a problem. In the beta test version I now have it working to auto-stitch the images together if we want really high resolutions or just make it easier when working with a lower resolution image.... and I've added a new Mono-tone mode and working with Alpha for some modes, and a Process-Blend color mode also, just to start showing the pace at which things will be updating and continually improving and the cutting-edge of what I'm exploring and what is possible when we try to work with color at this level.
You're going to see how the strategy and design of the application itself must work with the limitations and possibilities discovered in the process of testing what can be done with full automation versus user-directed control and the best blend of the two together. I've been holding back a long time just because I wanted to have things like these tools so it was just easier to teach the fundamentals about it all, whether we approach it manually and/or try fully automatic techniques.

@@MaxChromaColor sounds good to me, I totally understand 👍. I mainly just wanted to make sure I properly update while staying organized. My printer arrives on Wednesday so I'll be able to finally test my own images. Thank you for your response as always, Oh and if you end up making a discord server for your lifetime members it would be an honor to join.
