This recipe just totally works! It's simple, it works and it looks and tastes good. I've used it many times and everyone is just amazed how glossy my cakes looks. Highly recommended and thanks!!
hi mine was little thick..i followed the same steps..but when i pour on temp she mention it was really thick and after one hour it was matt...and other side i pour with little temp above than she mention because in that temperature it was not that thick and oki to pour ..and i saw that it was shiny after 1-2 hours..could u tell me whats your experience
I love how quick you're videos are, very straight forward :) other bakers have their videos too long, 20 minutes or more thank you for the amazing cakes
+Zaineb Zainouba Just use it exactly like you would use the sheets, except put them in with the 1/4 water instead of taking them out of cold water like with the sheets
Thank you... Thank you... Thank you!!! I have watched many many of these videos on Mirror Glaze Cakes and none of them were as good and detailed as yours!!! You put in essential steps that if left out would have ruined the process... Thank you so much! ;)
I made this. I’m not such big fan for chocolate but had to do this for my kids. This is very good recipe. I couldn’t stop licking off the bowl .. so good 😊
This is an excellent video, I really like the details (steps) you have shown for the novice baker (myself) that is always trying to surprise my family with something extraordinary. I will be making this very soon. Thank you
the glaze looks amazing, i was wondering do you add the chocolate right after you get the water and the sugar off the heat? or do you wait till it reaches a cooler temperature?
Thank you for the recipe! I tried this recipe with 10 g of powdered gelatin and also just semisweet chocolate chips. I also didn't have an immersion blender so I just sifted at least 4-5 times. Didn't really get the some of the bubbles out. And lastly, just before I get to the glaze, my candy thermometer broke so I had to go by see and feel. The temp was warmer than it should be so the sides looked like a drip cake instead. But nonetheless I think it's a great recipe. I'd love to do this over again with the right tools next time:) The sheen and mirror effect was still There!
hi what choclate did u use..she used some coverture choclate..i dont know where will i get it..was it sweet? and shiny..can we use mirror glaze on whip crea icing cake
Daniel Lee nothing is diffecult, how could you say its difficult if you didn try it in the past we were all beginners bet by bet we learn.never say its difficult until you try it,and im sure you will do just fine:-)
I love all your chocolate recipes. In addition I always enjoy the music u use in your videos. And I also love the style of your videos. Altogether not only informative but also relaxing to watch them. They are not overloaded. I like that.
I truly like how detailed you are with your videos! I learned so much from your content compared to other amateur baking channels on TH-cam. Keep doing what you do....thank you! :D
Hi, such a beautiful job! I´m from Argentina, and we don´t have gelatin sheets, as other person ask, what can I use instead? The non flavoured gelatine here is powder and needs to be hidrated with cold water (but it still stays like a liquid after that because it melts). Could you please help me? (Sorry for my spelling mystakes) I love your work! So inspiring!
+Victoria Ellenberg You can indeed find gelatin sheets in Argentina. Go to any repostería supplier and ask for "cola de pescado". It may not be easy, but it's out there! Suerte!
You are very talented and have a great creativity fairness in Arts... Am a Creative Director and knows that all your creations come to a level I HAVE TO GIVE YOU MY THUMPS UP & MY SUPPORT right here for you... Stay bless...
I have searched the internet for hours today but have not been able to get a definite answer. Can this kind of mirror glaze be used over a normal chilled buttercream frosted cake? Will the glaze just fall of the cake or will it look shiny just like it would with a mousse cake? Some people seem to say you can do it some not... Would really appreciate your answer.
ok.... okAY. sheesh...i'll subscribe. awesome-ness.... ness. you need to be careful. you made this (with patience...I know) look so easy I might just start mirror - glazing evvverything. chiiiicken (whole and fried), jell-o, soooap, corn cobs, my husband while he sleeeep....you know...just to see how it all looks! honestly, you made this look easier than any of the demostrations on here. beautiful work. new subby I am,
I'm guessing to use 10 grams of the Knox powder gelatin in replacement of the gelatin sheets but how much water should you use for that then? I know it would be less since she rings out the excess from the sheets. love this cake, it's amazing how it actually had a mirror quality!
No, the one I make is very similar to this, and if your mixture is warm enough, the gelatin will dissolve completely. I don't wait to add it, I just add bloomed gelatin straight in.
I should try this at some point. Also, that arpeggio in the stock music used is (nearly?) identical to the first one in the beginning of Burn, a song from Hamilton.
The cake isn't "covered" in anything actually! Mirror glaze is almost always used to cover mousse cakes. What you though may have been chocolate frosting was actually all chocolate mousse!
I was recommended this video by my fiancé. I know this came out before Dead Meat started the Kill Count but I swear I could hear James’ narrating over this because he uses the same music.
Hi , i have one question is this chocolate cake will be a little bit hard so i can decorate my fondant flowers,,its really amazing your video..best regards from Germany ...maria
wow now I don't need a mirror to do my makeup ;o)I love your pouring glass container ever more :D could you plz leave a link where you bought it from. thx for sharing the recipe :)
Very nice recipe and awesome effect!!! I have a question, any idea on how to storage the rest of the glaze you have left? How many days and which kind of recippient I should use? Many thanks!!!
Lovely recipe, can i use unflavoured gelatin ,instead of sheets, its not available freely, and what would be the proportion/quantity in place of 4 sheets??hope to get a reply, thanks
What kind of cake is this or can u use any kind of cake recipe for this? Also, what did u first cover the cake with? Is it buttercream or sth else? Thank you so much and eagerly awaiting ur reply.
Hi!!! For me looks the same... a cake covered with chocolate to bring a smooth texture and then to cover with the glaze. If not, will be a great idea and flavor.
This recipe just totally works! It's simple, it works and it looks and tastes good. I've used it many times and everyone is just amazed how glossy my cakes looks. Highly recommended and thanks!!
Pandora did u used on a butter cream frosted cake or on a mousse cake....???
Mousse cakes but I think it will work equally well on cakes with other types of frostings...
hi mine was little thick..i followed the same steps..but when i pour on temp she mention it was really thick and after one hour it was matt...and other side i pour with little temp above than she mention because in that temperature it was not that thick and oki to pour ..and i saw that it was shiny after 1-2 hours..could u tell me whats your experience

Svp veuillez me dire comment utiliser la gélatine en grains comment l'incorporer dans le ganache
Very good recipe, I added black food coloring for an extra dark mirror glaze and sprinkled with gold dust
Parisa Khan the buttercream must be very cold. The glaze cannot be too hot
ok.... okAY. sheesh...i'll subscribe. awesome-ness.... ness. you need to be careful. you made this (with patience...I know) look so easy I might just start mirror - glazing evvverything. chiiiicken (whole and fried), jell-o, soooap, corn cobs, my husband while he sleeeep....you know...just to see how it all looks!

+Autumn Bartels Sorry i've never used the gelatin powder with this recipe. I supose it has to be less quantity of water.
+Cakes StepByStep perfeita
1 tbsp. and 1/4 cup cold water,
good luck ✌
+Cakes StepByStep will it make a difference if you use milk or white chocolate instead of dark?
+Vince Menchavez thanks! Just saw this for some reason
So decadent and silky. Have to try this. Thanks. Xx
please tell me if there is a way to skip the hand blender process??
+Comunidad Cupcake I make chocolate glaze all the time and I never use a blender.
+Timmy G I do too, but I have never used gelatin sheets so im wondering if she does it just to dissolve them better.
No, the one I make is very similar to this, and if your mixture is warm enough, the gelatin will dissolve completely. I don't wait to add it, I just add bloomed gelatin straight in.
+Comunidad Cupcake it just makes it smoother. id recommend using a hand blender...they're cheap.
you don't need a hand blender. just take your smoothie mixer like a magic bullet or so :)
I should try this at some point. Also, that arpeggio in the stock music used is (nearly?) identical to the first one in the beginning of Burn, a song from Hamilton.
Omg. Im glad I wasn't the only one who noticed the arpeggio
grace idfk Yeah, me too!
Same I was about to start singing it and then it wasn't the right song lol

What kind of cake is this or can u use any kind of cake recipe for this? Also, what did u first cover the cake with? Is it buttercream or sth else? Thank you so much and eagerly awaiting ur reply.
Hi!! Can you explain the cover before the glace?? (The one that looks like chocolate) Thanks! Beautiful!!
Hi!!! For me looks the same... a cake covered with chocolate to bring a smooth texture and then to cover with the glaze. If not, will be a great idea and flavor.
I think it's a mousse cake, it doesn't have icing (mousses cakes are usually used for mirror glaze).
can we store it and reheat it for next day use?
Hi!!! Any 5 star recipe for the mousse cake or another that works great with the glaze?
