The wheel and tire setup is not the only reason people, pick the FW trim - it actually has better off-road chops with the tranny cooler, longer springs and better gear ratio for more power at slower speeds off road
Picked mine up yesterday. Thought about the wilderness Outback, but my driving style/patterns do not match up with a turbo. Specifically, it takes me maybe 10 min to get to work each morning. So, I’m not letting the engine warm up much. Lessons from my last turbo.
I hope Subaru has fixed the woeful bluetooth system on the Forester where your apple watch bluetooth interferes and needs to be disabled before you can play music from your iphone. This is a long standing problem.
Why he doesn't mention the different gear ratio in the Wilderness? The Touring model that I drive, is same price, same engine with better fuel mileage and better looking upholstery. If you are actually going off roading a lot, is the only reason to go Wilderness Forester over Touring. But for the smaller and lighter Crosstrek, I would go Wilderness no matter what I was using it for. Just my opinion after putting 25,000 on my 2022 Touring.
You can tow more than twice as much. Then suspension and skid armor, lift OEM. But towing is made better bc they use German parts for the wilderness and the other Fozs are in house with Subaru but they can’t tow
@@ImaYam I am from the construction industry and know too well the dynamics of towing weight. In where these vehicle manufactures are promoting towing weights that simply do not work in real live events. Yes, they pull the weight as specified. The fact is, and I have seen it more times than I would have liked, is if you are towing too much weight in proportion to the weight of the vehicles towing, it will push that vehicle off the curve. The idea that you can use a 3,500 pound vehicle to tow 3,000 pounds is totally ignorant. These Subaru vehicles and other weight matched vehicles are not built for towing much of anything. The CVT is certainly not designed to pull weight as a gear drive can. The other stupid idea is using less displacement to pull weight. Why did they call it horse power to begin with? Yes, you could hype one horse up on drugs to get it to pull more weight, except how long will that that single horse live doing that?
Quick question, is subaru behind technology or did this guy just forget to mention if the subaru comes with Apple carplay or Android auto wireless? Or does subaru not include em?
@ImaYam can you drive in deep water with the touring? I live in florida and we've a lot of floods, so I want a car that's high enough where I can drive through the water without it messing the air intake or flood my engine
@@masterking905 keep the water below your gas pedal, but the concern is getting wet carpets and drying out the interior. The carpets are a solid 14-16 inches off the ground.. also the rear diff needs to vent so I’ve seen people stick a long plastic tube to the diff to let it vent that reaches high
Excellent review. It was the final deciding factor in making my purchase. I bought a 2024 FW a week ago in black.
Hey buddy, that was a great job you did on the wilderness. Thanks
Black makes it look clean and sleek. I still think I prefer the Outback wilderness but this is a huge improvement on the Forester. Nice review!
Couldn’t have said it better myself.. thanks for the comment! 👍🏼
I bought the FW over the OW today. I’m 6’4 and had much more room in the FW. It was also cheaper OTD and cheaper on gas.
I wonder why they wouldn’t have gone for a 65 or 70 sidewall. There clearly is enough space and it would look even more off-road worthy
I have 65’s and it fills the gap much better

Onyx Limited is better

When I saw that center screen, I thought they kept the CD player for the Forester.
…what’s this thing you call a “CD player”?
The 23 doesn’t have those hooks for a hangar anywhere except that 2 weird spots in the trunk
Insane new Subaru Forester I wanted to buy.
Forester wilderness also have a extra cooler for transmission and a larger moter for radiator. All 2024 forester s took away the Cd Player.
"took away the Cd Player" weight reduction, nice :)

Would have been nice to have an option for a geared transmission then add a low range for off road enthusiasts
Great review as always.
Thanks Tim! 👍🏼
Love the roomy interior but I went with the Outback Wilderness with the turbo motor, more towing capacity and sunroof for a little more $.
and worse gas
Forester has a bigger sunroof
Just not ready to move on from my '15 Forester XT yet. lol
Great review , thanks.
Thanks for watching! 👍🏼
Very nice video bro!
Love everything about this car. But I wish it had diff lock.
WTF, are thies the best reviews or what!
Glad you like em! 👍🏼
Really great suv❤
I can’t give up my 2015XT

I haven’t had that problem
Between the Forester Wilderness and the Outback Wilderness, which would you say feels quieter and more refined for highway cruising?
I drove both. The Outback felt more sedan like. Nether good nor bad. The Forester rides smooth, easy and reasonably quiet after you get up to speed.

Wonder why they made the headliner black.
Doesn’t show marks from eg muddy bike tires and muddy people!
sport mode?
It's Nice, And I Like It, But I Like My Paid For 15' Outback!
I doubt you will find one for 35k or under.
Too bad Tony Stout left Subaru of New Port Richey.
The 2024 phone cubbies don’t fit 2024 phones, e.g. my iPhone 15 max
Not bad
The new subaru wilderness is horrible byer beware
