When is the best time to plant AUTUMN CROCUS?

Autumn Crocus are starting to flower now, but when is the best time to plant autumn crocus? Dry autumn crocus bulbs are in garden centers and nurseries now.
When should they be planted. There is a whole range of new hybrids available including doubles.
Select firm bulbs, they will appear a little shrunken, look for flower buds forming from the sides, but if they are advanced, then they may be lost if planted in the soil this year. Watch out video for our top tips on growing autumn crocus snd when to plant the bulbs.

I got a pack of autumn crocus and a few packs of saffron crocus to plant. They are so stunning. The autumn flowering crocus are poisonous though, also poisonous to pets as well so be careful
