Dude!! As a player of 47 years I find your tutorial to be so awesome because you are thorough, accurate, and attentive to the nuanced details of what gives the guitar part(s) their signature sound for the song. Thank you for your expertise!! We're in the 3rd month of rehearsals for an old school R&B band. You are so helpful!

I learned to sing back up of this song in 1978. My two older sisters at the time were 18 and 19 and boy could they dance and sing. This song was taught to me by them at home just singing around with a hairbrush and the broom or mop as mic's lol. Never the less they played it loud and made sure I knew the essence of such a demanding song from the gut and soul of disco. They lived and loved this song and everything about it. I respectively sang back up for all of our goodtimes singing and get this I was only 9 years old!! My point being here with you is I want to feel the song dynamics besides just the vocals I am delighted for this lesson as it pulls me even deeper to the execution of this classic. Thanks again.

That A11 chord is genius. Nice transition chord usage. Thanks for the lesson.

Dave, we must have similar musical tastes, because you often have something I'm looking for. I love the song and the guitar parts. Thanks for the great lesson.

I could not agree more with your assessment of what is out there on-line with regard to much of the dance/disco/funk band era tunes and others attempt to replicate or capture the guitar parts. They are "covers" or personal versions of the tunes, but mostly they lack the precision, tone or vibe/nuances of the original recording. I admire them nevertheless, but Dave, your instruction and narratives are always spot-on. There is a fellow in the UK who has had an affinity for the USA dance club/disco era artistry and he is very, very good in his guitar tutorials. I believe he is also a Dave. In any event, I wish I was younger and less compromised by age/neurological/arthritic conditions to leverage all this wonderful learning material. It is pure therapy and enjoyment and makes me think and want to keep exercising.

Yea that guy you referenced is an arrogant clown, who post songs that are not played correctly!! He laughable and should not advise anyone about playing songs! He's sickening!
