This was so much fun to watch live. These kids nailed it, like all the kids usually do in YOYOKA collabarations. Before the session we hung out at Ellen's house in Hovak's studio. Hovak and Aki were having a blast talking about all Hovak's cool studio equipment. Ellen and YOYOKA were giggling, like girls do, and drawing pictures of each other in Ellen's room, and I was playing fetch with their dog....LOL Very cool families (SOMA's and Alaverdyan's)! Hovak also set up all the lighting, using his own equipment, AND did the filming!

@@chrisegbertky Yes, it was very cool! All of them got along great as well. I paid all of their expenses while here so I got to attend the Silk Sonic concert with them and sat in on their studio practice sessions. I took them from where they were staying to all of their appointments, sessions, etc. AND because I was with the Hokkaido Hammer I got to meet Anderson.Paak. He was very nice to us and wants to do a session with YOYO in her L.A. studio.

Glen, you are so very, very fortunate. I _am_ envious. Was that Hovak's studio? Did Hovak have a second camera operator, or did you do some of the filming? Did Hovak set up a fixed camera so he could make a 'behind the scenes' video? That would be interesting to see.

All these kids in this video give me hope for the future of rock, but Yoyoka and Ellen are the baddest rhythm section in rock.
Man, I saw this for the first time a couple days ago and was just blown away!! Ellen's bass riffs are spot on, Yoyoka's drumming is freakin' amazing as always, and Mateo has the guitar riffs down to a tee! .. and 17 year old Eva.. holy crap this girl can wail! I've been sending this to everyone I can think of! Evidently her Dad did most of the producing as he is pretty accomplished at editing and production besides being a great musician himself! Seems that this is Ellen's first experience with playing in an actual 'band', and she definitely nailed it!!😍🎵🎶

I don't think Yoyoka performs anything unless she feels she can improve on the original. At least since about age 9 that seems to have been her policy, because I haven't found a counterexample (judging by whether I think she actually sounds better), except maybe Rosanna but that was a necessary piece in her skillset.

It is inevitable that these amazing young folks will undoubtedly become better than their predecessors. This is evolution. And needed to counteract the shite of drum machine auto tuned 10 writer pop music drek that is the scourge of music today.
I said this on her site I believe that Yoyoka has found her bass player! My first time seeing Ellen. Like Yoyoka, she is incredibly proficient at such a young age. What a future these kids have!
Gev Delano could also be the bass player for her group. Add Petty Rock on guitar and you've got a pretty awesome band instrumental band. Just add a singer and you've got a future band!
For me this was a too good to be true moment. Yoyoka having that rhythmic chemistry with Ellen was a pleasure to listen to. Thank you Hovak for showcasing the entire band and the talent and joy for music they have.

We all know what Yoyoka is capable of but the confidence and application of Ellens' play is inspiring. Eva and Mateo also did a great job. Ellen and Yoyoka blend very well. Loved it. This tastes for more! Hovak, Ellens dad, knows his shit resulting in a great sound.

Agree 100%. We got to hang out before this session at Ellen's house in Hovak's studio. It's awesome, and as you say he knows his shit. Ellen and YOYOKA were "being girls" and playing in Ellen's room, giggling and laughing like crazy. Ellen is quite the character. They drew pictures of each other. Actually both of them are great (drawing) artists as well.
The sound really was epic!

Another great performance from Yoyoka and his friends. It's been a long time since I wanted to see how Ellen was going to behave with high level artists like Yoyoka, it's really good as a presentation. I've been a fan of Yoyoka for a couple of years. She's amazing, of course. But I was also blown away by Ellen! Wow! What a combo! I wish I had known they were playing in Vegas. I would have tried to see Yoyoka play. Great job by all, including the producer who was Ellen's father.

What a reaction and awesome cover. When Yoyoka visited Ellen, they had a little Q&A. Turns out Yoyoka might move to the area where Ellen lives, they defenitely like to make more stuff together.

Just been switching between this and LZ at Madison Square Gardens. I am not sure that LZ did it better. Certainly the mix on the kid's bass is more pronounced, and better for that.

The oldest one, the singer, has the least amount of talent. I know Plant is not easy to copy but she’s a mess, losing her key and mostly flat below the notes. The kid musicians are amazing though.
