Finally willing to travel post Covid and Iceland did not disappoint. What an amazingly beautiful country with some of the best seafood I've ever had and I'm from the PNW. We had the opportunity to eat fish I've never heard of let alone pronounce, which was simply grilled with a squeeze of lemon and it was SO GOOD! We had a short 3 day stopover on our way to Europe, it was too short need to get back there to explore the country more and hopefully see the northern lights. Loved the people, loved the food and more importantly LOVED the country.
Love Iceland 🇮🇸. We got totally lost exploring the outskirts of Reykjavik . Terrified & so hungry, we discovered the ONLY place open which was the volcano bakery You visited. While I detested the fishy foods at dinner, couldn’t even look at some of the fish cuisine. However Iceland’s BAKED GOODS WERE HEAVENLY. The Sulfur “scent” of the water everywhere, you just get used to. I still buy the Blue Lagoon bath soaps 20 years later. Amazing geology! Iceland... An amazing country & a tough, lovely people.
I can’t blame you at all, as I detest seafood myself (but I can understand their necessity seeing as they can’t grow too many things there). The thing that is most disturbing about their culture is their whaling though. I can appreciate so much about their culture, but that I simply cannot.
This whole series is amazing, this is one of my best Iceland, also Rykervich, Norway, I have watched this entire series more than 200times, as its my happy place, love Paul Hollywood, so down to earth , his stories are amazing in each country.
I loved icelandic bakeries! I went to different bakeries every week 😁 Sandholt was one of my go to bakeries when I lived there. I'd walk there every Saturday then explore Kolaportið flea market. Skyr is also delicious and was a staple when I was there. Everything was so expensive so skyr was one way to get protein lol. I would've brought crates of skyr, icelandic licorice and hotdogs to NYC if I could. The skyr sold in the US by the same company just doesn't taste the same at all. Anyway, Rúgbrauð is a must try as well as any lamb dishes!
I lived in Iceland for 8 years and I still miss their fabulous breakfast pastries where you pick what you want and then they cut off a slice of how much you want. Sigh…. I still love to teach how to knit those beautiful sweaters.
Poštovani gospodine Hollywood,želim Vam reci da izvjesno nikada obišla veliku vecinu zemalja da nije Vas.Hvala Vam .Veliko je uživanje s Vama upoznavati druge kulture.Bog Vas blagoslovio.💯💕
This is the first episode I've watched and loved it! I love baking, I am always looking for new things to bake on TH-cam. This is paradise for me as I also enjoy traveling. I'm stoked!
What a wonderful trip to Iceland ... Amazing Country and People ... Paul , you have an amazing life ... God Bless You ... Jim from Chicago ... I must visit Iceland some day ... Bye for now ... 👋
so far some oof my favorite bakers ive seen on thus show one wants to make a frenchman long for a croissant he had in a land of ice and another just wings it and somehow makes praise worthy bread while doing things as simply as possible love these guys
I so miss eating bread!!! I can no longer have it due to weight loss surgery, ( I have intense pain if I eat it) I love to bake and family gets to enjoy it. Love all of these videos series.
I was surprised they didn’t use any of the local berries, aside from the blueberry sauce. Even though they weren’t in season, I would have thought they would have them frozen or in preserves… I remember seeing them in a different program. Love this show! Paul is such a peach 🥰❣️
Woooow!!! i just had to go to Town today. had to buy all sorts of Bread's. ThankU!!!! I'm nearly falling of my chair. ThankU!!!! can't wait to Bake my own..
I wonder if they've ever tried the unique wheat flour used to make Krispie Kreme Doughnuts? I've heard that this is what makes them "better" than all the rest.
I am surprised Paul was squeamish to taste the liquid from skyr. 😃 It is an intrinsic part of soured milk of any kind. That is whey. This liquid is W I D L Y used in baking (in place of water) in Slavic countries as well as for drinking (sometimes). It is acidic and very rich in minerals.
Not sure where the 130.000 population number came from, but Iceland's population is 350.000 people and roughly 180.000 live in the greater Reykjavík area.
I love how in every one of these episodes Paul ends up baking some amazing dessert in the evening with a beautiful local woman, many times at her home.
"Geezers next door"...😂I'm SURE they back nice bread, Paul! Paul, in English, we say Geysers...like guys!❤ But I ought to mind my manners as I wish to buy the City Bakes cookbook. When shall we see it?
Loving this series. I find Paul charming. It’s so refreshing to watch something that doesn’t make me cringe.
Paul is lovely in so many ways...
I was thinking exactly the same
Hello
I love his enthusiasm for not just baking, but people and culture in different places
W
He is famous but so grateful for every experience. That is so refreshing!
Such a lovely personable man. He's gentle and always seems to be genuine, not pretending in any way...a great series....more please xxx
I am utterly addicted to this show! PLEASE!!!!!!
Do multiple seasons. I love how there is so much to learn in every episode
LMAO I SEEN THAT RIGHT NOW BUT I AGREE WITH YOU THIS IS SUCH COMFORT SHOW ❤

Wherever Paul goes ,he’s got to bake . Fantastic.

Simply gorgeous...the sights, the people, Paul's voice.
the landscape and the music from 4:20 mark made me tear up. i can't wait to visit Iceland one of these days!
When you go rent a car and camping equipment and drive the circumference of the Island. It’s fabulous!
I lived in Iceland for 8 years and I still miss their fabulous breakfast pastries where you pick what you want and then they cut off a slice of how much you want. Sigh…. I still love to teach how to knit those beautiful sweaters.
This episode is my favorite one, Iceland is one amazing country!
I now watched them all and I agree with you. This one is the best.

I was surprised they didn’t use any of the local berries, aside from the blueberry sauce. Even though they weren’t in season, I would have thought they would have them frozen or in preserves…
I remember seeing them in a different program.

Cada lugar que vejo, me dá uma vontade louca de sumir do Brasil.Obrigada Paulo, adoo suas viagens inspiradoras.
Really have been loving this show! Paul's a great travel host. Wish I could've supported it when it was airing, hopefully it'll come back one day!
Hello beautiful lady, how are you doing and your family, how is the weather conditions there?
What a great show! Thank you!!
I love this baking series!
Hello Beautiful
That sweater is almost as handsome as Paul. At this point I think this would tie with Saint Petersburg in amazing places he's gone. Thanks!
Hello Linda, how are you doing and your family, how is the weather conditions over there?
Woooow!!! i just had to go to Town today. had to buy all sorts of Bread's. ThankU!!!! I'm nearly falling of my chair. ThankU!!!! can't wait to Bake my own..
Love the bread at 37:30 . I'd like to try doing that to papadums! : )
Wow!!!! Iceland.. very nice!!!!! ThankU!!!!!
I love Paul how he deliberate things like you're in there and taste the fullness of every bakes 😂
Love that we saw your link on IG. Unique series.
Would love to visit Iceland some day. I hear many in Iceland feel they get too many tourists, though, so maybe I'll go during off-season.
would like to know the measurements, of the recipes
All so Interesting and not sitting on my chair properly just makes me want to go.!!! ThankU!!!!
What an adventure! I love how Paul is game for anything. Laughed when he said “geezers” for geysers. Where Im from a geezer is a cranky old fella ☺️.
I will do my best to watch every day.
In the video, Paul says "population is 130,000". It is in fact 364,000. You'd have to go back to the 1940s to find such low number.
I think he meant Reykjavik, not Iceland. I just searched and it said Reykjavik population in 2016 was 122K.
I am sooo setting up a bakery in Yellowstone!
You know I bought a sweater in Iceland and it smelled just like Paul's face. Now it all makes sense.
🤣😂🌟🏆
Island, woaw !!!! Such amazing views
The best!!! Lovely Paul...
Love the sweater on Paul,!
Come to Toronto Paul.
Toronto is the most culturally diverse city in the world!
Hello beautiful lady, how are you doing and your family?
Would love to find out the name of shop where his sweater was purchased. Anyone know?
Me as well
I wonder if they've ever tried the unique wheat flour used to make Krispie Kreme Doughnuts? I've heard that this is what makes them "better" than all the rest.
Paisajes hermosos y comidas deliciosas cuídate mucho se que lo disfrutas mucho y la alegría se refleja en tu rostro me encantan tus programas 😂🤣👌👌👌😍😍
My dad always said Greenland is snowy and Iceland is green. However; it didn’t look green, but oh so interesting.
He DID visit in winter...
Where can someone find this cookbook?????
August! What an aboslute legend 😂 i love his lack of pretention
Truly amazing how they’ve learned to work WITH nature! Love it! (Sure doesn’t hurt that Pauls attractive appearance helps draw you in… 😉)
Thank you
Best line: “I have sensitive skin.” LOL
I am surprised Paul was squeamish to taste the liquid from skyr. 😃 It is an intrinsic part of soured milk of any kind. That is whey. This liquid is W I D L Y used in baking (in place of water) in Slavic countries as well as for drinking (sometimes). It is acidic and very rich in minerals.
I hope this gets another season one day.
Oh those eyes of yours, Paul
Not sure where the 130.000 population number came from, but Iceland's population is 350.000 people and roughly 180.000 live in the greater Reykjavík area.
And please; Skyr is cheese, not jogurt
You need to look at the 2016 numbers for the city. That is when the series was filmed.
She is a beautiful woman, striking smile
Ah! the shape of the twisted treats made at 11.15 are the traditional shape of the south african koeksister
I love how in every one of these episodes Paul ends up baking some amazing dessert in the evening with a beautiful local woman, many times at her home.
barley!!!! wooow!!! that;s interesting.. ThankU!!!!
GEE-ZERS lol HAHA love it Def have that Liverpool coming out

Paul not taking a dip in the Blue Lagoon because he knows his man chest would cause catastrophic floods.
Icelanders are brilliant people.....they defeated and jailed the bankers!
"Geezers next door"...😂I'm SURE they back nice bread, Paul!
Paul, in English, we say Geysers...like guys!❤
But I ought to mind my manners as I wish to buy the City Bakes cookbook. When shall we see it?
I had a grandfather who was a "erupting geezer" as well...😬
I'm fall in love with the Skyr Girl...
I need recipe for that rye bread!!
