What about Kyle Larson in 2022, just 3 wins compared to 10 in his championship winning year, inconsistent in the regular season, ify in the Playoffs and doesn't even make the final 4, finishing 7th in the standings.

Kurt Busch sounded like he was on the verge of tears when he was talking about not being in the car for the final races of his time at Roush Racing. I guess what the team said about them not being "Kurt Busch apologists" anymore is a way of showing their displeasure at the way he handed in his notice to head for Penske

Kurt Busch’s 2005 season is an interesting one to me. He won 3 races and made the Chase, so he obviously was running great at times. But he also had a number of races where he was collected in a wreck or lost control of the car. I would call it a “Feast or Famine Hangover Year.”

Looks good on him. He bit the hand that fed him in Jack Roush. Lost all respect for him after he thought driving the Blue Deuce would make him more "popular". He wasn't half the race car driver Matt Kenseth was.

If Kurt had a better shot at winning the championship Rousch would not have pulled him out of the car. But they figured Kurt was not going to win so they used the wreckless driving as an excuse to get rid of him early since he was heading to Penske and there was already a lot of bad blood.
