    I would love for you to do the same for Ideology and Biotech.
    With Anomaly right around the corner, it seems like the perfect time to do so for new people who may come to the Rim now. And of course, once it's out, do one for Anomaly too.
    Also, with all the mods slowly updating to 1.5, this gives you some breathing room to do that while we wait for mods to be updated.
    Anyway, a very well put together video as usual. Good job!

    Informational video, love your style, if you're looking for mods to review, since there aren't many that have updated, big and small genes is criminally under explained for such a cool mod.

    I personally adore Royalty and don't get the complaints of it being a bad DLC.

      in my case i find it as 2nd on most complain on DLC (based on my feed in every platform related to rimworld)
      1st Ideology
      2nd Royalty
      3rd Biotech

    • @wagz781
      @wagz781 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The main complaints are because most of the dlcs are popular mods with the serial numbers filed off, worsened, and then released like they're some amazing new ideas. Which is not helped by the price points for what's actually provided for each dlc. Most if not all of the dlcs should be 10 dollars at most considering what they are. Not the 25-ish tynan is asking for.
      Really, the only dlc that's actually an improvement over the mods it's intended to be copying from is biotech. Misc robots is jank as hell and I think tynan actually managed to do better with how the mechanator or whatever the role is called. Children are... strange, but an addition I enjoy. And the combining of alien races and rim genetics actually works out rather well.
      Royalty is a massive downgrade on all fronts and is more of a framework for mods. The best selling point for royalty is vanilla psycasts expanded.
      Ideoligeon is unique in that it's not aping mods, but instead actually intended to fix a problematic interaction tynan had with the community for a while. Where he didn't like us playing the game wrong. So I've actually got the most praise for said DLC. However it's lacking in terms of actual quantity of content, as the items added are largely purposeless and the number of memes available is atrociously small.
      Anomaly's more of a side grade. Mechanically it's superior to the mods it's aping in many ways, but it's lacking in other ways. Mostly in actual quantity of content and (of a more personal opinion) it's a thematic sidegrade. However the modding potential is fucking insane, and I think if you give it like a year it'll be royalty but better in that you get it most for the mods.

    Pain causes faster Neural Heat dissipation and boosts psyfocus gain speed, so Mindscrew has a use. It also acts as a permanent mood boost for masochist pawns.

    My regular royal pawns don't refuse to do any work even the baron cooks and cleans. Only the psychopath and greedy traits make them unable to do work at higher ranks

    • @KausBumsen
      @KausBumsen 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have the same, but I play with mods. But I don't remember a single mod that would change this functionality. I've always seen that pawns with a title in the description can't do some work, but they did everything for me. This has been a mystery to me since the release of the DLC itself.

    • @EpicFace7589
      @EpicFace7589 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KausBumsen I think it used to be that all pawns with royal titles would start refusing work but got changed to only psychopath and greedy pawns refuse. I think non colony royal pawns(guest quests) are the only ones that still have royal title work restrictions

    I wouldnt say Royalty is a bad DLC, but it definitely has you doing a laundry list of tasks for what feels like a underwhelming reward. It feels more like its own thing that you have to specifically want to do. I think Anomaly will be the same thing - not everyone wants to have a colony where they devote their time to researching cthulu beasts and being terrorized by monsters that burst out of the ground to eat you. Ideology and Biotech however fit into any playthru, you can either go with a fluid ideology or a rigid one. You can either focus on being a vampire/mechanitor, or completely ignore that, and just enjoy raising kids and the new races.

    • @MysteriousFawx
      @MysteriousFawx  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I'd say royalty fits into most playthroughs too though. You don't need to interact with the Empire to get access to the majority of content added with the expansion, you can completely ignore the honor system. Techprints appear from other sources and factions, new weapons and gear will spawn throughout the world as rewards, loot and on traders, you can even earn psycasting by finding the odd neuroformer. The quest variety alone adds so much to any run.
      The point you made about you can focus or ignore for Biotech and Ideology works exactly the same for Royalty.

      I've said a few times it's on the list, but with Anomaly coming up I haven't got the time to properly dig into it yet.
      It isn't something I've used and the details on the mod page for it are super bare, so don't want to do a half assed video for it and get a bunch of negative feedback based on how many folk are requesting it. Once the DLC launch has calmed down and mods are updated/patched, will give it a proper look.

    I tend to skip most of the mechanics of this DLC the nobility and empire mechanics clash heavily with the cowboy aesthetics of the game IMHO. giving up room in my colony for a throne room and giving up a pawn isn't optimal. On top of that the rewards are lackluster. To me the Juice really isn't worth the squeeze.
    The DLC also ruined mechanoids for me with the clusters It would be one thing if you could just chose to sit back and expend resources and time shelling the cluster into oblivion but as it stands now if I forget to disable the mechanoid faction at creation and I see a cluster fall out of the sky I just god mode them out of existence with an antigrain warhead or 12
    Over all good video thumbs up
