Ardillita Nini Ah ok. Yet her parents even if they were born in latin american countries are still considered not really latin and i as well as many others dont consider Alexis as a "latina". She is just a white person that happens to know the spanish language wich originates in Spain, a European country. But hey, we all have different views on things don't we? Peace.
No honey, she's actually Latina, look her up. I copied this from her Wikipedia: "Her father was born and raised in Argentina. Her paternal grandfather, Enrique Einar Bledel Huus, was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and was of Danish and distant German descent; Enrique was Vice President of Coca-Cola Latin America and the Coca-Cola Inter-American Corporation.".... "Bledel's mother, Nanette, was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and moved to Guadalajara, Mexico, at the age of eight; Nanette was raised there, and in Mexico City. Of her parents' upbringing in Latin America, Bledel has stated "It's the only culture my mom knows from life, and my father as well, and they made the decision to raise their children within the context they had been raised in". Bledel grew up in a Spanish-speaking household, and did not learn English until she began school; she considers herself a Latina." LOL, she's not just a white person that happens to know the Spanish language which originates from Spain, she's actually Latina and a good actress in these scene because I've heard her speak fluent Spanish in other videos where she doesn't act. I'm Hispanic: Latina and Spanish. I was born in Costa Rica, like both my parents, and my maternal grandfather was born in Barçelona, Cataluña, which allows my mother and I to have Spanish passports. English and Spanish are my mother tongues. I know what a Latin person is.
Well said. She's latina because she was born to latino parents and raised in a latino household and spanish is her first language. That's what makes her latina. I don't know why americans call latinas people like JLo or Christina Aguilera who weren't brought up into the latino culture but not Alexis who happens to be white. @acebunny17 I don't think any language is better than the others. They're all wonderful in my opinion--from German to Cantonese, the fact is that we have come up with so many languages. My passion for the English language is incredible. It was always my best subject; and this is coming from a Hispanic Spanish-speaker. In fact, Spanish was my first language. So please do not say that one language is better than the other and don't disrespect it, either. Both languages are beautiful in my eyes.

In Latin America people are either white, indigenous, black or mixed but there is no such thing as hispanic. It's just a term used by US Americans to classify people from Spain and Latin America.

Just because her mother grew up in Mexico doesn't mean that Alexis is Mexican because from her mothers side she has no Hispanic ancestry. So she's half Argentinian, half American.
in Hollywood's eyes she is a white actress
SF2014 Many hispanics are also white...
davlor86
I am sure they are seen as whites
Like Said Bledel is seen as a white woman in Hollywood's eyes
*White-American , since 'American' has no real color
KaiserFailed No nationality in the world has "real color"actually. Today, if you have the nationality of one country, you are from that country, period. One thing is ethnic group and other nationality.
I couldn't care less what her roots are, Mexican, Colombian, blah, blah, although she is of Argentinian descent, but what I think it is really cool and amazing is that she speaks Spanish fluently, that she is not ashamed of telling the whole world that her first language was Spanish
.....and that she continues to do so by speaking Spanish whenever she can.....funny that she had to fake the gringo accent in that scene.....sexy Argentinian accent by the way......she is a beautiful citizen of the world.....
Latina power🔥
i like how she speaks it! afterall, shes latina, argentinean father and mexican mother!
your mom born in united states
Love it
Emily Gilmore's reaction: Horrible! Rory Gilmore's reaction kind and sweet.
like the scene in friends where matt leblanc couldn't speak french but speaks it irl
Do people still think its impossible for whites to be considered Latino? I always hear people say Alexis looks white so she can't be Latino. Lots of people consider Latino a culture thing than race. I am Spanish(white) but many people in my family grew up around Latino/Mexican culture.
Latino is indeed a cultural tag. Its not a race. I've seen Chinese Latinos.
Madre Mexicana y padre Argentino
Aww she speaks like a baby
lmfaooo the fuck? They couldnt let her actually speak without that silly accent? Her first Langauge was spanish is of Mexican descent. This is weird. lol
But her character isn't.

Alexis speaks Spanish, Rory as a character would only know the spanish she learned in school if at all
KaiserFailed Argentinian.
i remember this episode = )
GUATEMALA!!!! WOOOOO
For years I had no idea that she was Latina. That just goes to show that not all Latinos are brown. My wife doesn’t know this about Alexis but I’m gonna tell her. By the way, I’m an American White guy and my wife is Dominican and she taught me Spanish ❤
she is not trying hehe, actually she is making it look like she is but she is not. she is fluent.
She is amazing. I have heard her speaking Spanish with no accent what so ever and we already know she has no accent for her English either. My daughter is like her, my wife and myself only spoke Spanish to her until she went to school in Florida and my daughter has an atrocious Spanish accent. .
News Flash: you ARE white. Spanish people are white Europeans. There is no such thing as hispanic. I'm Bolivian/Chilean/German and I'm white because we are descendants from Europe just like Alexis Bledel. Bledel is a German name. Her ancestors are clearly from Europe. In Latin America people are either white, indigenous, black or mixed but there is no such thing as hispanic. It's just a term used by US Americans to classify people from Spain and Latin America.
