I remember this picture in a friends house . I was high and drunk and it had a big impact on my life. I took it as He is knocking on my hearts door and thats a good thing. Had i thought oh Jesus means the church not me i would have been left unchanged
I just love that picture. The Lord revealed to me, it is a revelation, not a prophecy. It is a real event, that happens when you put your effort to be in His companion. And those are DOORS OF ONE'S HEART! He stands at the door of the heart and knocks. Hallelujah!
Thank you for this. This verse is very profound and deep. It is not actually talking about salvation, but speaking to the already saved. So, he is asking us, who are saved, to get back to the initial love that we once had with him? Examining ourselves and allowing him to work in our hearts. I am also reminded of Galatians 3:3. 'How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?'
Prayer for revelation 3 20 Lord I have heard you knocking at the door of my life iam opening this door . And I welcome you in Come in and make your residence within me Do your wonderful work in my Soul ❤
It means He is knocking at the door to your heart. He always is and always will be and always has been. I was a non believer of Jesus Christ but I began slowly in the last 4 years showing more interest in God. I didn’t know what God but I knew I wanted to believe in God because as we get older we can’t help but think what’s the point of all this? Why am I working? Why am I living? Why don’t I just end it? What’s my purpose I’m sick and tired of following “my” purpose and it gets me nowhere constantly. I’m spinning tires and nothing seems to work. Until one day I woke up one morning and opened the door 🚪 and I was guided to a church and I’ve experienced Gods love and Jesus presence over me I never felt such love before I instantly knew it was Him because He felt so familiar my soul connected with the Creator from wheee I came from. it was amazing and ever since this verse stood out to me the most because He really is trying to connect and build a relationship with us but He just knocks He will never open because He respects our free will. I love you Jesus thank you for saving me ❤
I love that you bring context to this verse. I do feel though, that you overemphasize the "invitation." Christ does desire relationship, that really is the whole point of the Bible. Because He is standing at the door and knocking, the extent of the invitation would be, "Come on in!" Thanks for bringing out the context.
Amen 🙏 and Thank you 🙏 brother for speaking the will of God and not leaning to our own understanding. This has open a door for me that I didn’t understand.
God gives us life a right to live and a free will. one way or another he knocks on our door because we are the church. . Even though the scripture is talking about the seven churches, we are one of them , as a group or by ourselvrs . Receive this message as a serious warning ⚠️, or he dwells in each and every one of us whether you like it or not. And this does not take away any of the free will that you have here in this world. Use your free will to choose either you enter the kingdom and reign with Jesus Christ or suffer eternal condemnation.
We need to recognize our sin, and with a repented heart ask forgiveness, and the Holy Spirit will do the rest. We can do nothing without the Holy Spirit of God, we couldn’t continue in our salvation if it was left up to us. Our flesh has proven that over and over. Revelation 3:20 is a sweet and loving verse, it demonstrates what a patient and loving Savior we have.
God does not need our permission to save us. God is totally sovereign, and this includes in salvation. I do not know of any theology that claims that God forces someone to love Him. God is good and His ways are so much better than ours. He is worthy. God must give us life, and grant us faith, and repentance, before we have the ability to love Him. Apart from His special grace we are spiritually dead enemy's of God. We do not want Him, nor can we seek Him.
Right, God doesn't NEED our permission. He can do whatever he wants. But he chooses to wait for our permission because he wants a relationship, not subservience.
Yup, God always initiates, not us, we only can love him because he loved us first. And God needs no permission , before we have faith, he regenerates our hearts, taking our heart of stone and giving us a heart of flesh.. Ephesians 1:4-5 [4] even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love [5] he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,
❤ hey man God bless you my brother you are amazing. Thank you so much for doing Gods work and sharing the good news. I pray our Lord, protect you in Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Relationship definition: To know someone. The Bible tells us to Know God. Think about it. You can't know someone without talking to them. Now insert talk in place of dine in the verse. People talk when they dine. A really cool understanding of this verse is God is always wanting to talk to us. If we hear his voice and invite him in as you say, then he will talk to us, back and forth. Thats how a relationship is built. The verse also tells us how we hear God; "in to him". He talks in our mind. Hebrews 5:14 "have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Talk to God. That's a relationship. That is available to everyone- no conditions. That is the abundant life Jesus came to give us. Everything else is just knowing about God.
It's so common to view this verse as being addressed to the unbeliever. Yet when we view it that way we miss out on the significance of this passage for us. Glad you were able to learn! Thanks for watching!
I personally wouldn't use the word "Permission" Jesus really doesn't need our permission as if we are the ones with the authority Jesus is sovereign and does whatever He pleases We are the clay and He is the Potter We can't say to the Potter why are you molding me this way? The clay can't say I give you permission instead to mold me this way. It just doesn't work that way Jesus is sovereign and we are not I rather prefer using the word "Recognize" I believe that Jesus is gently knocking on a persons door to come back in If Jesus was here today He would be ringing a doorbell I first have to recognize the sound of the doorbell before going to door and opening it Jesus is gently knocking on the door so that you can recognize the knocking sounds He is making on the door Recognize that we are lukewarm recognize our sinful pride of not needing Jesus in our lives Recognize that we are sitting on the fence of compromise There are many sins we can have because we don't really want Jesus as Lord of our lives Jesus said "Why do you call me Lord Lord but do not do what I say" So recognize that without Jesus we can not do anything Bring Him Welcome Him back in your house fully repent confess turn from your sin of I'll do it on my own attitude "YOU BETTER RECOGNIZE" that He wants to have true fellowship with you He is still your friend even though you were the one who put Him outside
I think it's irrelevant what the verse stands for. I think what the point is, is that. If Jesus comes to us and we answer, He will be with us. If we reject him. He will reject us. The reality is He will answer all the way up to the point that we take our last breath. But the minute we do, there’s no other chance.
Revelation 3:20 also prophesied the end time work of Jesus return when we invite him in to express truths to us to cleanse us in the last days. This is the secret work he is already doing so that he can save us from the great disasters before he appears on the Clouds (Rev 1:7)
One thing I have learned, that the Bible is not just for the unbeliever, even thought some who were not, became, cause of it. In a way the Bible is a instruction manual. From one of my favorite song writers Burlap to Cashmere; BIBLE: Basic, Instructions, before, Leaving, Earth. It is God instructing us on how to use our time on this earth to spread His love to all who will listen and or accept, before our life, vapor blows away.
💯 agree ... glad you did a video on this. I’ve never taught it’s Christ knocking on an unbelievers heart, that is so misleading. Great work on this brother!
Thanks for watching! When we ignore the context in which something is written (not just the Bible) we can quite literally make it say anything we want.
During meditation, I heard a “knocking” within me. I opened my eyes thinking someone was knocking on my bedroom door. I don’t think your version is correct. I have family that are Jehovah Witnesses. They literally go knocking on doors…. I feel there is so much more to this parable.
So… believers needed Yeshua to come in? Isn’t the implication that they had the outer forms of faith, even professed it, but didn’t have the substance (Yeshua)? That is, they weren’t truly saved? If this is the case, then a broader application to unbelievers makes sense, assuming you aren’t a Calvinists of course.
Good question, but I think that considering believers, because for unbelievers, Jesus stands behind the GATES, I think that some believers invited him to the court or yard(mind and intellect) but not to their house (heart and soul), that's why he knocks, because he wants to have an intimacy with us. I hope my opinion will help you brother)
I don't follow.. you say he is knocking on the door of saved people? So salvation has already taken place but he is still inviting them in?. I really don't think he is waiting for our permission man..
Notice WHERE Jesus is standing. He is OUTSIDE the church with the door closed to Him. This isn't about you. This is the seventh letter to the seventh church. The church is the subject. Jesus is not INSIDE the church. Yes, Jesus asks you to allow Him in your life, but you are not the subject of the sentence, the church is. This verse states that the Laodicean church will have a form of Christianity but without Jesus as the center of it.
I listened to much of your video before noting the Andy Stanley book on your desk. This makes me distrustful of your words, as it shows an apparent lack of discernment on your part. At the very least, you ought to publicly denounce Stanley as an egregious false teacher who now promotes demonic doctrines, although there was theological smoke long before the dumpster fire that is now his teachings.
That this passage isn't written to non-Christians who haven't accepted Jesus into their hearts. Rather it's written to Christians who have become stagnant in their faith.
There are so many different versions and re-translations of the Bible. People can and will have different understandings of the verse (and the Bible as a whole). Also, I’m not sure why you felt the need to bring up Jewish people lol

Permission is sacred. Very humbling that Jesus knocks, then waits to be invited into our lives. I've been living in Laodicea...😥
I just love that picture.
The Lord revealed to me, it is a revelation, not a prophecy.

This verse was helpful in me coming to salvation. In January 2010.
The church is people. Jesus always wants a relationship with us
He wants us to want Him.
Yes I do believe that it is addressed to the church to me and you hallelujah
Thanks for watching!

Jesus is a gentleman. He doesn't just barge in... ❤️ I subbed. Great video!
Thanks for the sub! Glad you are here.
It for us today also his words are spirit and life, and he is speaking to people in a church like me and you keep speaking his words!
Extremely helpful. This revelation was a great reminder and makes me even more grateful for Jesus
YES YES YES JESUS PLEASE COME INTO MY HEART I NEED YOU BAD
Thank you, Amen . Really saved me for being stuck in misunderstanding, misunderstanding is horrible and horrible 🥲
The 3 perspectives are very good 😊👍
What a teaching,im happy now no need to explain why.... GOD is good.
Thank you God for this man!

Thank you so much for this! ♥ This really helped.
Thank you, thank you. Appreciated.
You're very welcome!
Your explanations are so clear and concise. I love watching you. Thank you, and blessings for continued success in spreading the Word.

Excellent message

Good stuff ❤
I am so glad to learn about this. Thank you. I honestly thought it was meant for unbelievers.
It's so common to view this verse as being addressed to the unbeliever. Yet when we view it that way we miss out on the significance of this passage for us. Glad you were able to learn! Thanks for watching!
He's talking to the churches. Unfortunately there are a lot of nonbelievers in it. Laodecia is what modern Christianity is today.
Muy Bueno gracias

If the people in this church were actually saved. Then why would Jesus be knocking on the door, trying to get in?
Maybe they turned to their own understanding and strength instead of God's

Calvinist are constantly making post hoc rationalization so the Bible supports their man-made system
I keep seeing number 320 everyday . A least 3 times a day , anyone knows?

I would like to see a video on the common misuse of the word "pastor."
And " reverend"
But does that scripture goes both ways both for the Christain and the Sinner man.
Interesting presentation... check out this guy "Rightly Dividing with Ron Anderson" on this verse as well.
Isaiah 65:1

This is the video that explains jesus
but people say jesus is fake when hes not
Respectfully, I don't think Proverbs 21:1 accords with this idea. 🤷♂️
Jesus is a gentleman and certainly not a Jehovah’s witness knocking at the door
I don't follow.. you say he is knocking on the door of saved people? So salvation has already taken place but he is still inviting them in?.

That this passage isn't written to non-Christians who haven't accepted Jesus into their hearts. Rather it's written to Christians who have become stagnant in their faith.
Revelation 3:21 is written about one man. The son of The Christ.
First off, you used a counterfeit version of GOD'S HOLY WORD and not HIS actual word, the KING JAMES VERSION. Jews today are "pasty white". SO, FAIL
You got me...
There are so many different versions and re-translations of the Bible. People can and will have different understandings of the verse (and the Bible as a whole). Also, I’m not sure why you felt the need to bring up Jewish people lol
Dude! Turn from your pastiness and spray tan or something.
