Thanks for watching, and may the dice be ever in your favor! 🎲
At 5:30, you knocked a 1 die to the 4 side. Great solo playthrough video, though, and quite informative.
Good catch! Mistakes are bound to happen. I try to do my best but things go unnoticed at times, especially when I’m providing commentary the entire time. I hope you enjoyed it otherwise!
I know it’s really amazing solo experience
it gave me a tension and replayability😍
good job on the playthrough as always👍
Thanks, dude! It really is an amazing game. More Doom Machine Playthroughs are coming very soon!
50:28 That 5 you changed to a 6 had just been rerolled, so you weren't allowed to modify it. Rules specify that a die can't be moved to a modify slot after it's been rerolled. You're supposed to resolve all utilities as you add dice to the utility slots and then leave them on the slots until all intended utilities have been resolved, then remove them from the card and reallocate them to shields or damage. It prevents any questions of if a slot was already used.
Good to know! I’ll try to do better on the next playthrough
That was brutal. It's always tough when you get a bunch of high damage parts to start with. It can really snowball if you get stuck playing defense early on. I try to focus damage on one part that's either going to weaken the machine the most or be easiest to take out and increase my dice pool. It's hard to fight the instinct to always shield up and block all damage, but it's kinda like chess how you gotta take a hit sometimes to have a chance to advance your own strategy.
For sure. I tried to keep that in mind. I did take damage at one point because it was advantageous to do so. I’m really looking forward to playing again!
I'm glad you did this playthrough cause it made me want to play it again and it was a lot of fun. This game can really get the gears grindin. In the end I had 4 life left and the Doom Machine at 10 sentience and 8 power but managed to pull out a win. Took out 8 of the 9 parts and did the final damage to the core by destroying the Infernal Power Complex.
Heck yea, dude. I’m going to record another playthrough of it tomorrow. I’m itching to play again.
Love this game!
It’s a fantastic game. I’m going to play it again very soon!
The maximum dice we can use is 10. That's the 5 black dice that we start with. And maximum of 5 yellow dice that we gain. Rule cards 'Page' 3: "...may gain up to 5 additional yellow dice...."
Ah, good to know! Man, you’re a walking rule book. 😆
This is one of my favorite mint tin games of all time. It's just so good.
It is super fun! I just recorded another playthrough today. That will be up on the channel very soon!
Doom Machine looks like a ton of fun! I wonder if there would be a way to make a game like this in Minecraft?
Only one way to find out! Simulating so many dice rolls would be a bit difficult. It would be a fun challenge!
Love me some Doom Machine. I find that focusing on a single machine part each round (if able) helps a lot in clearing them out. Doing 2-3 points of damage to a single piece in one round is huge in clearing out the machine parts.
That’s a good strategy. 😁👍 It’s such a fun, man. I can’t wait to play it again!
Amazing! IT IS possible to win it! I didn't though so myself. Man, this game gave me ideas. Thank you so much!
It’s a tough game, which is awesome because it feels rewarding when you manage to win. Highly recommend checking it out!
At 33:58 you reused the 4/3 that you used to damage the hard cycle storage.
Yea, I caught that when editing. Thanks for letting me know!
Wow, this game is brutal! If you're someone with crap luck... this game will absolutely murder you. Though I'm wondering if it's maybe a little too much giving these cards that many hit points, along with crazy powers AND requiring statically low probability dice combos to even hurt it and then do that 5 more times.... yikes.
Oh, and I got to say; I am a little confused by the misery extractor... if it's extracting misery that means it's removing it from them meaning it's making them less miserable... unless some parts of it are literally powered by misery and it's making people miserable just to power it's self... man that's dark lol.
I thought it was a bit too much at first too, but it ends up planning out. Some turns you’re getting blasted with damage and need to shield up, while other turns give you a moment to breathe and dish out some damage of your own.
I know one thing for sure; whatever misery the Misery Extractor is extracting, it extracts it all over you.
+1
