I’m impressed your kids eat salad! Tonight my husband and I had romaine, grilled chicken, red onion, cucumber, sprouts, hemp hearts, and sliced strawberries with a creamy balsamic vinaigrette.
I like beans on my salads. Garbanzo, kidney, black, doesn't matter. Also those french fried onions if I have them. Love sliced green onions, too. If I don't have croutons, I've been known to crush up some pretzels or crackers, especially cheese it's. Yum.
always an inspiration. i did chicken breast fillets (cut them myself) with a bit of tomato-chicken bullion after browning them and added some rays bbq sauce (the no sugar one by the same person as sweet baby ray), let them simmer. pretty good. kind of pseudo-bbq, very tender.
Put leftover baked potatoes cubed in bottom of salad bowl. Then put lettuce and all you other toppings, add dressing to top . When you get to the potato, your dressing has normally settled to the bottom. Delicious with oil based dressings
For a different kind of salad, how about diced peaches, diced mango, pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, diced pears, strawberry, black berry, or raspberries with walnuts and a fruit juice vinaigrette to top your salad greens? We tend to receive these quite a bit at our drive up pantry. So instead of throwing them into smoothies or yogurt, we will top our salads with them. Grapes are great with apples and chicken in a salad with a few chopped almonds on top.
Salad ideas.... cucumber, bell peppers, carrots, celery, any kind of pickled pepper, artichoke (Aldi's has jars of this), olives,....I love everything salad!
My salads seem to be like snowflakes, no two alike lol. They usually have a lettuce/greens base but not always, sometimes it's just vegetables with meat and a vinaigrette. Leftovers play a huge role. Fruit is good depending on your dressing. Also, marinated vegetables add a nice topper like artichoke hearts. If I have leftover green beans I'll marinate them for a couple days with Italian dressing, it's kind like a quick pickled green bean. Chips, snack crackers, etc, can be crunched up like a crouton.
We like to add arrugala, spinach, carrotts, cucumbers, red cabbage, chunks of cheese such as fetta or cheddar on occasion, any kind of olive we have on hand frenches fried onions...to name a few lol
I like a "summer salad" from time to time chicken with strawberries and little oranges, or apples and pecans or walnuts even either of those candied with like cinnamon sugar, when I have avocado I like to do salsa corn and black beans, other regular items sweet peppers carrots black olives, cucumber tomatoes, pickled red onions, feta cheese anything almost
You could try making your own egg wraps - I do understand that it may several attempts etc. On the seed front - you could make your cheese whips and top with seeds etc. It’s crazy what they charge for a small amount of baked cheese, on website it was like £2 for 25g / slightly less than an oz
I like taco salad, meat, beans, corn, tortillas, onions, peppers, red sauce, salsa. Also like Big Mac salad onions, pickles, cheese, crackers, meat, and thousand island. All leftovers are fair game.
If your family liked the big Mac salad, try a "pittsburgh steak or chicken salad" here, we put fries on everything, yes, even salads and it is delish! Tfs
For my salads I also like to add rinsed/dried chickpeas or kidney beans, dried veggies (I get from the food bank sometimes), banana peppers, raisins (or other dried fruits, I like sweet with vinaigrette dressings). Everything always looks so good!!!
Shredded carrot on a salad is good and I'm guilty of eating the bacon I need for a recipe as I'm cooking it too so I just cook the entire package and freeze the rest..lol
How do u stay motivated when you get a small pantry haul, during the summer heat when u take cranky younger ones? 😢 my 2yr old, heat and not looking forward to standing outside for an hour or wait in the car for an hour plus
That is frustrating. When it comes to little ones in line... outside: play games with them. I-spy and Mother-may-I or Simon Says type games. Bring a cool drink. You could even do an ice pack in a towel for them to hold while sitting in a stroller. Inside: similar games can be played, bring books and toys (especially ones that are just for the car so they stay special), fun snacks, a kids music CD or on your phone.
Pickles on the side for salads...also, how did you do the palmini noodles that time? Just throw into boiling water for 10 mins? Rinse first? Mine are going to expire before i ever get brave enough to try them...lol
Likes of vegetables like cucumbers onions all of it carrots
Great dinners🥰 We love salads , my favorite is cucumber salad 😋You and the family have a great week. Greetings from Virginia Breach , Ingrid
All your meals look 👀 so yummy!!!
Yummy for the tummy 🎉
I've seen salads where they've added sliced, cooked potatoes, green beans and sliced beets. Also canned anchovies or sardines.

Salad toppers peanuts, French fried onions, pickles on the side. Croutons. I love things that are crunchy.

Cucumber, bell peppers, sliced mushrooms, olives, cubed ham - some additions for salad.
We were camping and ran out of fresh veggies. Had lettuce and an apple. We love apple in salad now. Dried cranberries and nuts good too.

I love cottage cheese on salads sometimes, sunflower seeds, tomatoes, cucumbers, crispy onion or jalepenos, onion, I'll eat anything lol
I make nachos for myself using roasted zucchini in place of the chips. You gotta cook them first. Give it a try. It’s pretty good!

I did the boiling for 10 minutes and they were quite good! Pretty mild in flavor but for sure needs a sauce like spaghetti or alfredo.
That’s lovely. I have one that doesn’t like any vegetables but peas, corn, and potatoes. He’ll eat spaghetti but not Mac n cheese. Picky eaters!😂
Meanwhile none of mine like spaghetti much. 🤣
Pepporni and then onions and diced meat and cheese and crotons and salad dressing with salt and pepper and then maybe some fried lunchmeat
