    This is why he chose to leave the NOI, not because he cared about Elijah's affairs but because he wanted to become more politically active.

    • @potentially__9445
      @potentially__9445 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      nomibe2911 I honestly thinks that's the truth of his split from the NOI that is RARELY talked about.

    • @theresamahfouz790
      @theresamahfouz790 6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      He didn't voluntarily leave the NOI. He was put out of the NOI by Elijah Muhammad. He initially wanted to stay, but later detested the NOI so much that he wanted nothing to do with it, and didn't even want his image to be tied to it in any way. Nevertheless, that does not mean he was willing to stay with the NOI remaining as it was. While in the NOI, Brother Malcolm had been trying to change the NOI in several ways, which is partly what angered Elijah Muhammad. Still, for the longest time, Brother Malcolm had cult loyalty to Elijah Muhammad and had credited EM for saving him and believed him to sincerely be divine. It is very difficult to completely break free of that, so despite his grave disappointment with Elijah Muhammad's hypocrisy and immorality, Brother Malcolm initially had difficulty letting go. His half-sister, Ella Collins, was the one who helped him the most in finally psychologically breaking free from Elijah Muhammad's stronghold over him, and she even paid for Brother Malcolm's pilgrimage to Mecca. Further, if you listen to Brother Malcolm's later interviews and read his Autobiography, you will see that he absolutely did care about Elijah Muhammad's affairs a lot, to the point where learning about the affairs had made him physically sick for weeks. However, he had initially chosen to remain silent about the affairs and about the real reason he had split with the NOI because he did not want to spiritually harm any of the persons who were still in the movement. That said, if you read his Autobiography, listen to all of his speeches and interviews, and read books that go into detail about all of this with actual facts, what you will find is he had split with the NOI for the following four reasons: (1) Elijah's immorality and the immorality of his heirs as well as those he placed in power in Chicago such as John Ali and Captain Joseph, (2) Wanting to become politically active, (3) He had begun moving towards Sunni Islam for a while before Mecca, which a lot of people don't realize; and he had already started to question several of the NOI's teachings about W.D. Fard being divine and white people being "devils", and (4) Elijah Muhammad's heirs had become insanely jealous and attempts were already being made on Brother Malcolm's life the beginning of 1964 while he was under his suspension. After Mecca, Malcolm X completely denounced the NOI as racist, a cult, a "criminal organization" ... and even went as far as to call Elijah Muhammad a "religious faker" and to say he wasted 12 years of his life and that he is glad to be free of the organization. Brother Malcolm also testified in court against the NOI in a case where the tax exemption status of the NOI was being threatened. Further, Brother Malcolm convinced some of the women Elijah Muhammad sexually exploited to file lawsuits against him, and Brother Malcolm helped them with their lawsuits. In the end, Brother Malcolm was sincerely trying to live the life of a true Sunni Muslim and became an orthodox Sunni Minister, and Elijah Muhammad actually saw that as an even bigger threat to the NOI than Brother Malcolm speaking out about his immorality. Likewise, Elijah Muhammad called Brother Malcolm a traitor to black people and hypocrite for preaching white-black unity after Mecca. So there are many reasons Brother Malcolm split with the NOI.

    El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, nacido como Malcolm Little y conocido como Malcolm X (Omaha, Nebraska; 19 de mayo de 1925-Nueva York, 21 de febrero de 1965) fue un orador, ministro religioso y activista estadounidense (la X en su nombre representa el apellido desconocido de sus antepasados subsaharianos). Fue un defensor de los derechos humanos y de las libertades civiles de los afroestadounidenses, un hombre que acusó duramente a los estadounidenses blancos de sus crímenes contra sus compatriotas negros. En cambio, sus detractores lo acusaron de predicar el racismo y la violencia. Ha sido descrito como una de las personas más influyentes en la historia de Estados Unidos y como uno de los líderes más importantes del movimiento por los derechos civiles.

    Loyalty, is it a misguided tool we never learn how to use? Or is it a word we learned how to say when we are in dying need. Is culture part of loyalty, or do countries stand by loyalty. Do you remember like I remember, when fakes had taken full control of the people minds, and lying came from all kinds. Where submission came from all kinds, and pain were issued out so proudly. Where people were being introduced to it as the way of life. Yeah I remember when everyone were being carried like a sucker, made those who wasn't believe many took it as a style. Yeah I remember when a whole group sold death, but didn't have the heart to bring one person down. Yeah I remember when one person came to them all, and could not believe they were all scare to make him fall. Yeah I remember they play around a person while he was sleep, like animal do with lions, but when he woke everything went silent. I myself believe people have misunderstanding of what loyalty is. Because after all is said, the only loyalty is king of the land is the dollar bill. One might be confessed saying something else, but their action will show different. Culture was overthrown because of betrayal, organizations were destroyed because of betrayal. So tell me what is loyalty, when it have no root to hold on firm for support.

These are the people whom Malcolm referred to as all being members of the Democratic party and he accused both the Democratic leadership in the North and as well as the South of plotting and planning against the agenda of equal rights for Black folk in America. He was accusing even the Democratic President John F. Kennedy of being one of the biggest Hippocrites who claimed he wanted equality for all Black Americans. Malcolm was trying to show that even though many Black Americans were putting forth diligent effort to put the Democrats first,they were equally putting forth diligent effort to put Black Americans Last! The disguise was that they worked hand and hand. The goal was to promise the world and give crumbs. So the northern democrats would point to their brother in the South, the dixiecrat and say we support the negro, but the vote came up short again, we'll keep working on them.
