What's it about?

An old 13th century folk song from occitania.
It's been a long year slaving away in the fields to earn a few pennys .
Then at harvest time we see the tax collectors and rent collectors and find we have little to nothing left.
So it's back to work to start all over again.
It is said that the Wolf, the Fox and the Hare represent the King, the local Lord and the Church
all dancing around the flowering or fruiting tree.
Times change but people stay the same.
