Lol when they first redid the weapon codex shadow hands didn't work with it untill me and a few other back stabers had a fit about it. I like the intial damage bonus from arms over the bonus for tracking other then that and i switched to swords over fencing but this is the same build i have played for q few years and after all the stuff changed on out lands this is still a awsome gold farmer.
Fantastic build! I built a stealth poisoner but now thinking I made the wrong choice haha. What would you recommend as a quick aspect farming tip to someone vet to UO but new to outlands mechanics?
It levels pretty fast. Get in to a dungeon and start killing. Or get in a party with friends and follow them and soak up extra xp when your not wanting to play solo
Awesome video - learned the entire playstyle from this and your other videos. Especially the cooldowns - very useful. Question unrelated - how do you get the cool ossuary music ?
I think it has to do with the long spear having a larger variance in its dmg... basically it can hit the hardest but also lower. Also I think you get a bonus to to your backstab dmg because of the swing speed difference so it most likely does average better and now I have to go find a short spear :)
Okay wait a minute does tactics not scale into back stab damage? If it does is it not scale in the backseat damage as it doesn't normal damage? Because if so then it's absolutely ridiculous in my mind to run 80 tracking instead of 100 tactics. You're still there you should be hidden you shouldn't need tracking. You should be giggling as you watch PLs and their victims run right past your hidden self. Hell maybe if you get lucky you can plank one while there low on hp.
I have found that the damage from tracking without tactics is just as good. And being that tactics isn't necessary on the build I choose tracking just to stay a little safer in the dungeons. You'd be surprised how many times I make a hit and go to hide and a red runs through at the same time. One reveal and I'm done. 40k down the drain and 30 mins wasted. The build is strong. Safe. And profitable. It can always be tweaked.
From 0 to 100, tactics adds Base Weapon Damage * (-50% + (Tactics Skill / 200)) damage to each swing From 100.1 and above, tactics adds Base Weapon Damage * (1% * (Tactics Skill - 100)) damage to each swing Tracking only adds up to 25% damage bonus at 100, and that's based on you base damage. The Damage multiplier for Stealth Backstabs are +800% to +1600% (Scaled to weapon speed) Backstab damage is also scaled by (Backstab Damage * (Stealth Skill / 100)) So as.long we backstabs are multiplying the damage of the hit with scalars added in you would missing out on a HUGE chunk of damage. I will look more later but if you aren't seeing a huge difference then possibly neither skill is being calculated into backstab damage. If they aren't being factored in then I would certainly add poisoning or something else to the build to allow more finishing damage after the initial backstab hit. You should check out some of the Hallly bleeders poison builds by guys like blacklisted86. They're dropping daemons and even spectral terrors with ease.

with some links i find its negligible and i still one shot harder mobs

is forensic evaluation better for backstabbed damage than arms lore? Thinking of making a backstabber with swords and doing some research ;)
I take forensic Eval because it allows me to skin good leather and make more gold.

Would keeping Tactics & putting points in Ruffian give you 200 effective Tactics even before your weapon mod? I’m guessing not for some reason…

Shadow is amazing to level on the backstabber. You get aspect experience from the steal. And from the kill. Making it twice as fast.

Yes. Full plate set. Usually I'll use something that is of a decent quality due to the fact I don't die much. But use what you're comfortable losing.

Safety. I find the damage to be better with arms lore. But at higher tier levels of shadow I'm 2 shotting spectral terrors anyways.

Also with the ruffian perk in the thieves codex I actually have 100 points of printed tactics.
