A couple of comments: 1) If you don’t burnish your masking tape you should. Any where that you may have two or more colors meeting you should burnish the area. Using a 1” wood or rubber roller. The burnishing technique can also be used anywhere that you need a crisp line between a painted and a non painted surface. One use use smaller items for smaller areas, like vents or rivets. 2) I think 3Ms blue painters tape uses a water reactive adhesive that helps stop bleed through. I also think 3M makes a low tack tape in there blue painters tape line of tapes. This may help you on your metal pieces, where you are getting unwanted pull off.

Hi Rick, thanks for the suggestion. I used Tichy masking tape, I figured out later that if it dab it on my shirt a few times it was less tacky and fixed the issue. It’s very thin which works well. Unfortunately I tried traditional non-hobby masking tapes and they’re okay for large areas, but difficult to work with for paint lines or fine details. I’m not familiar with burnishing, but will look into it! Thanks again

In HO scale model railroading a t h e r n always made undecorated version so their locomotives so if they did not paint one into seeing that you like you can always pay for it without having to strip it and saying what was underneath when it would bleed through sometimes

Excellent video- good sound, nice shots, good color match between engines...decals seem often very hard to find, what vendor?

Looks cool ...maybe paint the stripe first then mask that off, then paint the main color second. Less masking that way. Still ...great work!
