Awesome video and tip! My 2020 GTI was always harsh to engage first and second gears, even after doing the standard dead center adjustment many times. Fine tuning the cable like this made shifting in those gears so smooth! Thanks
I actually have a Mk4 02j with a broken lock pin on the tower that is trying to figure out. I have all gears except 5th and 3rd is crazy weird trying to get into! Going all the way to the right in the cabin itself is pretty stiff but trying to go into 5th seems nonexistent.. any suggestions? I am desperate lol
Greetings! I’ve a Jetta 6, gear 2 doesn’t show on the dashboard, when I select great 3, the dashboard e displays that the car is in great 2.. what could be the problem with this car??
Yay, this fixed my issue! It was the other cable end that was keeping my 2nd from engaing, and making reverse go in way too essily instead of first, which is exciting at intersections.
Hi I have an issue with a 2016 Chevy spark the shift cable goes over a nipple type of fitting by the gearbox but it keeps popping off what can I do to fix it ?
In older video's you guys said when adjusting the cables you should "take the slack" out of them when locking them in place. I find this absolutely wrong. My shifter was always really notchy after doing my first linkage reset with your instructions. Today i did it the normal way and my shifter feels so much better. No more notchy feeling

We might be able to assist if you contact us directly. Sales@dieselgeek.com
Does this apply to the older style Sigma shifters on 02Js?
Applies to every Volkswagen cable driven shifter. They all work the same way.
@@dieselgeekdotcomthanks. I'll try it this Friday. My seat is hard to shift into first gear.

Yeah. Take the slack out can be interpreted in different ways.
@dieselgeekdotcom so how would you put it? As in would you pull on the cable or push the cable towards the cabin?
