- Uphill drag race between Fendt 933 and John Deere 7280R, Tridem joskin trailers equally weighted with 20 tonnes of sand.
Both running 710 75 R42 Group 49 rear tyres, 44 fronts.
Fendt 933 Profi Plus 60K @ 10600KG
John Deere 7280R 54K @ 11400KG
No spoof, we did the race three times for consistency, friend filmed it from different places each time then was cut together to make it look better.... The result was the same every time 7280R in front!
Even though we only have deere's on our farm, i did work with Fendt frequently and found it generally superior/more advanced. But now that we replaced our 6620 autopowr with a 6140 R autopowr i must say i am impressed by the leap they took in regards to the previous series. Everything is so properly designed, i don't see Fendt as superior anymore at all.

Very interesting video! I think the reason why the john deere is faster, is the cylinder capacity of 9 litres.

Figures regarding fuel consumption or better diesel consumption were similar.
But the Fendt needed AdBlue additionally.
So you know what AdBlue now means ?
You need the same amount of fuel, but AdBlue on top.
That's why they call it AdBlue = You need it additionally on the same amount of the consumpted Diesel.

Why not ?
1. Try it with your own John Deere / Fendt against each other, you will always come to the same result !!
2. Even if you take other models !!
3. MAKE SURE, you don't need the equivalent horsepower in the JD. Try it for an example with 30 or 50 hp less. A JD with 30 - 50 hp less, is always enough for a Fendt !
Das ist nicht arrogant sondern provokant. ;-) Und ich denke das ist der richtige Weg um die nötige Aufmerksamkeit zu erregen, in einem Segment wo es viel aufzuholen gibt, zumindest in DE und Teilen Europas.
Michel Deere blöd nur, dass man Wirkungsgrade in der Regel nicht über die tatsächliche Zugleistung bestimmt. Das wird über den spezifischen Verbrauch gemacht und da können die JD nicht mithalten.
Im Durchschnitt verbrauchen die folgenden Schlepper (laut DLG) bei maximaler Zugleistung 258g/kWh:
6215r ap
6210r dd
7280r ap
7290r e23
8400r e23
Bei den reinen zugarbeiten des DLG Powermix sind es sogar stolze 271g/kWh!
Bei den folgenden Varios kommt man bei maximaler Zugleistung im Durchschnitt auf 257g/kWh:
312 s4
720 s4
724 scr
828 scr
939 s4
1050 s4
Bei den reinen zugarbeiten des Powermix sind es im Durchschnitt extrem gute 254g/kWh.
Das kommt einfach durch den viel gleichmäßigeren Wirkungsgrad, den weder die autopowr noch die Schaltgetriebe erreichen können. Und da helfen auch absolute Zugleistungen nicht. Denn selbst wenn die Getriebe bei John Deere besser wären, spräche das für deutlich schlechtere Motoren :D
Selbstverständlich ist kein Schlepper perfekt, es ging darum zu zeigen das Fendt in ihrer dominierenden Leistungsklasse echte Konkurenz haben. Darum lass' die 7R erstmal richtig im Markt ankommen und dann werden wir schon sehen welche Rolle er spielt.
Jahre lang hieß es "Transport und Sprit sparen... da gibts nur Fendt!", da fragt dann auch keiner nach der Kühlerreinigung. Der Johny hat das Ding gemacht, das muss man dann auch mal akzeptieren. Kaufentscheident sind doch noch 100 andere Dinge. ;)

I have seen Fendts break down all tractors have problems! John deere are simple to use, and very good back even out of warranty they will still stand by there machinery and very nice cab environment. You new one pull like steam trains! More like the 10 serise 6210r is being compared to a modern 7810.
Wenn du schon von Marktanteilen redest, solltest du auch wissen das eben 900er im oberen Leistungssegment absolut dominieren. Da kommt noch JD und dann fast nichts mehr, paar Magnums noch. Und es wär mir jetzt auch ganz neu das der 900er am meisten schluckt....

deere's use a bit of fuel for their exhaust gas reduction system and a tank of adblue lasts a while so perhaps the fendt would come out better in the end
I doubt that's the reason. It looks to me as if they are both driving their speed limits with JD beeing just a little bit faster - with or without load. I.e. JD says on it's homepage their tractor can drive 42 km/h while Fendt says 40 is the maximum.
For me this isn't about power or efficiency- try this again with 40 tones and let's look who really has the better drive.
Haha this video is so true. At the Peat Bog we got both John Deere's and Fendt's. The Deere's can out run the Fendt's. The power is better in the John Deere's as well. But they are both very good tractors.
Would have been interesting to put a Fendt 828 against the 7280r as it is lighter than the 933,
The Fendt is already lighter and has more horshepower than the John Deere
Sorry, but i know the result. The 933 need's more fuel, only the on-board computer showed less fuel-consumption. The answer is easy: Fendt Vario transmission has a inferior efficiency faktor.
Michel Deere was redest du da? die 7r schlucken eine ganze Menge Sprit... 31g/kWh mehr als ein 800 Vario (DLG Powermix) sind schon eine ganze Menge!
bei den Tier 4 sind es immernoch 17g/kWh. im Transport bei 50kmh ist der Unterschied wieder gewaltig: 54g/kWh!
und was den Wirkungsgrad angeht: sieht man von dem verschiedenen ZW Wirkungsgrad mal ab kann man aus der zapfwellenleistung und der zugleistung halbwegs den Wirkungsgrad abschätzen... man bedenke aber, dass der Vario bei dieser Rechnung einen Nachteil durch den besseren ZW Wirkungsgrad hat!
der JD 7280r (ap) kommt bei nenndrehzahl auf maximal 86,3% und ein Fendt 930 tms auf 85,3%. berücksichtigt man die verschiedenen ZW Wirkungsgrade kommt der Vario sehr gut weg! geht man von der angegebenen nennleistung (jeweils ece r24) aus ist der Vario sogar um 2,2% besser.
und man bedenke, dass das jeweils die Werte bei optimaler Geschwindigkeit (im Hauptarbeitsbereich) sind, der Wirkungsgrad ist bei einem Vario wesentlich gleichmäßiger, sodass der ap in weiten teilen schlechter abschneidet.
das "Argument" mit dem mechanischen Anteil ist einfach Quatsch, die Hersteller haben da nur sehr gute Werbung gemacht... davon wird es aber nicht wahr! zudem ist es einfach nur unprofessionell die Hydrostaten von Fendt mit irgendwelchen anderen zu vergleichen... ganz zu schweigen von dem weitaus einfacheren mechanischen Aufbau eines Varios.
wenn man jetzt noch bedenkt, dass der Vario hier im Video eine ganze Ecke mehr Motorleistung hat, grenzt es an eine Unverschämtheit hier zu schreiben man hätte gewusst wie das ausgeht. jeder halbwegs vernünftige Ingenieur kann dir sagen, dass dieser Vergleich ein Fake ist.
John Deere baut ganz sicher Top Schlepper und die haben auch eine super Leistung, ich fahre selbst ganz gerne einen 6910! aber bei so viel mehr Leistung kann der Fendt nicht verlieren, das ist einfach Quatsch. das liegt auch nicht am Getriebe oder sonst was, das ist schlichtweg die Leistung.

The Fendt has 330 horsepower and the John Deere has 280 horsepower, not saying that has anything to do with the speed it just looks like the john deere has more torque and power.
The point I am trying to make is that this video only shows that the deere has maybe 10 more HP. You could arguably take a semi and trailer in the same test against the deere and fendt and see the truck walk on by because of more HP. Yet the semi will not perform near as well in field. The actual pulling capability that the fendt has with the vario cvt is unequaled in field. A sled pull is a more realistic test for overall tractor performance cause its like dragging a chisel plow through ground.
Looks like they were governed out. The fendt should be 45hp more than the Deere so if the load was heavy enough that they weren't governed out the result might be diffrent. The 8R series Deere' tractors are incredible machines though.
Yes but there is alot of factors that can be different on them. The hours on one of them can be low and it isnt at full power and AdBlue can be low and it is low on power also maybe one of them 40kmh and not 50kmh

Wie viele Betriebsstunden haben beide Traktoren jeweils?Vielleicht hat zum Beispiel der Fendt noch nicht seine Volle Leistung.

Not even an equal comparisment The 933 is a topline series tractor from Fendt. the 7280r isn't that from John Deere. you can compare the the 8285R with the Fendt 933 series. Although I am happy with the result and ofcourse i would not expect differant haha.
probably because john deere has torque converters in their tractors so it takes some horse power and turns it into torque
Such races have not fendt TMS, but should have a gas pedal, TMS is slowly converging and Fendt after setting up the gear is 65 km/h

how come ive out pulled so many whilst pulling the same weight with a smaller horse powered tractor whilst using A LOT less fuel?
The difference in Hp is '10 in the Fendt, e not 50, and must take into account some variables

ganz einfach: john deere 9l hubraum und fendt 7,14l hubraum.
schlüter wusste es damals schon, hubraum lässt sich nur durch mehr ( ihr wisst schon :) ) ersetzen.
den ganze downsizing mist kannste von mir aus bei autos machen, aber nicht bei arbeitsmaschinen.

Abgesehen davon hat Hubraum nur sehr begrenzt etwas mit Leistung zu tun. Und Leistung ist das einzige, was zählt.
Und mal ehrlich. Am meisten gehen beim Vario von Fendt die Getriebesätze kaputt, das passiert aber in 90% der Fälle durch fahrerisches Unvermögen. Denn wenn man in der Strassen-Stufe ackert muss man sich ja nicht wundern. Die meisten Fahrer der LU's haben eben keine Zeit mehr für 5 Sekunden kurz anzuhalten und die Stufe zu ändern. Bei den JD's liegt es aber meistens an der Unzuverlässigkeit. Bei uns fahren eig. alle LU's Fendt und die Bereiche der Händler von JD werden ( zum Glück) immer kleiner
Ich denke, dass es für jede Marke auf dem Traktorenmarkt Argumente gibt. Da muss man jetzt aber nicht ins einzelne Detail gehen. Ausserdem denke ich, dass diese Leistungsklasse nicht von Fendt dominiert wird. Die Chancen für Fendt sehe ich bei den neuen 500, 700 aber auch den 800ern. Von denen werden in Zukunft die Marktanteile kommen. Im grossen Leistungssegment dominieren andere Marken, auch John Deere. Ich denke, dass die 900er Serie die einzige ist, die im Verbrauch höher liegt als der 7r

Leute, die 60 km/h von dem Fendt spielen doch gar keine Rolle, da gehts Bergauf wie es auch in der Beschreibung steht "Uphill" und da kommt es auf den Effizienteren Antriebsstrang und die Kraft an und da lag wohl der John Deere vorn!

Well according to the Fendt Website it is suppose to produce more torque than the Deere.

wenn du gelesen hättest, würdest du erfahren das die 3 verschiedene tests gemacht haben....
Ich verstehe nicht wo hier das Duell sein soll. Der Johnny zieht am Anfang etwas besser an und macht sagen wir mal 2m gut. Jetzt fahren beide eine Strecke und der Johnny hat den gleichen Abstand wie ganz am Anfang also frage ich mich hier warum ihr meint das der Johnny schneller gewesen ist.
Und bei 1:23 ist der Fendt zumindest auf gleicher höhe wie der Johnny wenn nicht sogar vor dem Deere
Anfangs ist der Fendt Fahrer vielleicht auch nicht ganz auf´s gas gelatscht also macht der JD was gut

Das Problem ist einfach bei der ganzen Geschichte der Preis und im endeffekt die Leistung ! Die 900er reihe bei Fendt ist in der Klasse Marktführer zumindestens in Deutschland weil alleine schon gut 70% der großen lohner haben Fendt und davon meißtens nur große ! Mal im ernst ohne das ich irgendwie was schlecht machen will guck dir die Werkstätten an die von John Deere stehen immer voll mit Reparaturen die von Fendt max. zu Durchsichten oder Garantie sachen !

Der 7280R hat mit Boost 310PS und 1,2l Hubraum mehr, das Ergebnis passt so und ist nicht der Große Triumph für Johny...
