    I've made these before. One tip is to use an iron and spray bottle. These look great. The process is excruciating depending on the length. I used 96" kanekelon hair. Took me 3 days. I love faux locs so it's worth it

      Mya Lewis, this is not new, maybe not common on youtube but not new. As to who came up with this method, I don't think it was a black person, it;s neither here nor there...whether a black or white person came up with it.

      @@Original-Michiko I'm making reference to what Mya Lewis said and no, she was not the first person. Maybe for goddess locs but not this. It was been done long before and as I said before, it just wasn't popular, so who whosoever made it popular, the attention is on them.

      Robin Griffin no one was doing this for faux locs just those stiff synthetic dreads.

    • @robingriffin42
      @robingriffin42 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@casswashwash1070 not true. Do your research. Look up *DIY synthetic dreadlocks* and not faux locs and you'll see. I know this because I went on a journey (I'm a research junkie) trying to find new methods of false locs because I really love the style but the weight is crazy...and came across several methods. You also have esty shops that sell them. The whites and blacks (probably even Indians) wear them. Check it out this link th-cam.com/video/sWsjdxi5frs/w-d-xo.html

    Awesome video. So, when you split the 16 inch cubin twist hair down the middle wouldn't it make it 8 inches. I kinda wish you had done it longer. I'm thinking if you made it longer, it would take much more hair per loc. Ouch!!! that could get expensive. But your video, is very informative. Cool Beans!!!!

    • @MeekFro
      @MeekFro  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      annette jones Thank you! & no this hair stretches so the Locs came out to about 18 inches. And depending on the brand of hair depends on the price. Just buy the 24 inch Cuban twist hair instead of 16 inch. Use all 24 inch. Depends on where you buy it from the prices may be the same. One store I went to had the 16 inch labeled the same price as the 24 inch.

    Is there a way to make the locks less rigid/stiff? I've seen some women with the faux locks that are more relaxed in how it falls and sits like a long braid would be kinda I guess. And what is your opinion on an ginger irish fish belly pale having locks? My husband politely tells me it's only for his ppl. 'It don't look right on white ppl" is what he says. The hippie lady at the dispensary has them and she's 'beautiful' but he says it's not for us...wtf I'm confused?lol

      I made my own set of synthetic locs a few years ago, and I used boiling water to seal them. I would boil a pot of water and pour it on to the loc while holding the twist tight, if that makes sense? I held the loc horizontal and slowly poured the water over it and would hang it up to dry overnight :) Just be careful as you reach the end of the loc, I burned myself more than once :)

    If I make my own I am going to use this method. When I take it off the hanger I can unravel this enough to wrap it around my braids? Im not going to crochet them but do individual braids. I know if I buy the locs in store I can unravel easy... but considering the other half of the braid that im wrapping around is already acting as my braid... I was wondering if I can wrap these around my braid.

    • @MeekFro

      Whitney Copenhaver these won’t unravel. Not with this method of making them. There are other methods where it will allow your Locs to unravel.
