    Lee, it's 2022 now and the conversion firms are telling me to wait 8 months, or not even taking bookings. I'm going to have to do it myself. You're a gifted explainer - taking the time to go back at about 14 minutes and tell us how and why you cut around the beams. Thanks very much.

      Hey diaspora I am in the same boat as you. I also have to do this myself. I see your comment is 3 months old now. Did you make any headway on this. If not I was thinking we could try help each other out.

    Hello, can you remember what size the box section reinforcement was please. can't see it on their website. That side bar looks like 20x20x2mm or something like. Thank you

    Nice video 👍🏼 Think my van has one of these pop tops and either fibre glass or frame is squeaking like crazy, gonna have to peel carpet back and figure out what it is, hopefully fibre glass screws and not the steel as that would mean taking all the fibre glass off too 🤦🏼‍♂️
    You had issues with squeaking on this build?

    Hi, thanks for the video. I am currently fitting one of these tops. Can you please advise what the dimensions are for the pneumatic struts? Many thanks.

      Hi thanks for watching 👍. This is how I fitted mine. On the roof of the van it has a gutter down either side with allen key bolts in for a roof rack. I measured from the centre of the bolt that's above the sliding door back towards the rear of the van 10 inches and that's where I put the centre of the gas strut bracket. Please check that it looks right or your van before drilling any holes. Anymore questions just ask. Hope this helps 👍👍

    Y do none of the videos put the canvas under the fiberglass like it should be ?

      What do you mean ??

    • @ooooobpbpbpooooo

      @@leepurnell7073 I think he means, the canvas only goes under the screwed-down white bar, and not taken further underneath the fibreglass, which would mean it is screwed down twice, from top and from below, and with a longer length of canvas.
      I am curious about this too, and also how rain is prevented from running under the canvas and making the internal roof felt wet. Screwing it down seems inadequate, but I don't have experience so don't know :)
      Thanks for the video, really helpful and job well done!

    • @leepurnell7073
      @leepurnell7073  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The fiberglass is just to tidy up the big hole thats been cut in the roof you don't screw the canvas to it.
