Having the step daughter arrested for stealing is not going too far. She's 19 and should know better. Even small children know stealing is wrong. The mother siding with the daughter is not helping either. The dad's NTA. And with the mom covering for her daughter? If if she does it again and chooses the wrong person to steal from, prison would be the least of her worries. ETA: There was another update where they had to surrender 2 of their dogs because they can't afford pet deposit because of what happened. If nothing else, that's what makes me so mad.
I find it so incredibly sad that father and son seem so legitimately good and kind people, yet all of this happens to them and it just doesn't stop, while the wife and daughter just go on living like normal. I hate how unfair life can be in that way. I was really hoping that in one of the updates luck turned around for them at least a little, but no.. I hope they'll be able to get back up again and that their lives will get better soon.
Personally, I don't think it's too far to call the cops on the stepdaughter. She's a fully grown adult who stole a ton of money from someone. She was given the chance to pay it back. If she'd done this to anyone else, the cops would be called. She's lucky she was even given a chance to pay it back at all.
1:13:04 a resort child entertainer (basically taking care of childeren while their folks enjoy their vacation), you live there so you cant be seen doing drugs because if customers find out, they will not trust you with their precious little angel.
I kept waiting for the Thief Stepdaughter to get arrested after OP found out about the credit card theft, but…I guess he just canceled the card and gave up? He didn’t even talk to his wife or tell the stepdaughter what she did was wrong and that he was going to get his son’s money back, he just kind of accepted that his stepdaughter ruined his entire life and was like “Man, that really sucks.” It’s a weird story, and had me gritting my teeth with frustration.
Rouge is the membership level with Sephora. They also have the very important beauty insider status in which you have to spend $350 in a year to reach. For Rouge status, You have to spend at least $1000 a year.
Thank you guys for always considering your audience. ❤ If you put the trigger warning maybe also put a timesamp on where to continue if we want to skip and keep listening 😊
I feel like with the girlfriend/best friend situation, if they’re in a culture or religious community where it’s normal to be full adults and only kiss 2 months into the relationship, I feel like it’s very possible that prior to the kiss the gf and the guy’s best friend had the same exact relationship with the guy like spent a ton of time together, confided emotionally, told each other everything, but one was labelled the girlfriend and other the best friend. Because of the friend label he probably didn’t realize how he felt until he kissed his girlfriend. That could explain the name moaning but tbh idk how you moan someone else’s name unless you’ve done it before and she’s on your subconscious for sexual reasons, not because he’s just concerned for her, unless he wasn’t into his girlfriend at all and was just spacing out and not in the romantic mindset at all while making out.
The only job that I can think of that would want to go through all of your stuff like that looking for weed is the military. Which would make all of that even more funnier to me.
my guess for the toy story (ha) irt where the woman works is some sort of intensive mental health facility? it makes sense to have on call staff there and to also be super strict w drugs
Anne Summers is a seggs toy shop in the UK. They sell underwear then extras out the back. If you visit the UK be sure to go with your women, the sales staff are brilliant as my best friend worked there!
for the last story I agree w some on campus living boarding school, OR a youth corrections, long term caring giving? I also feel like Adam and Eve would be lucky to get you as a sponsee(?), they do offer free shipping to the US and Canada (I listen to too many podcasts)
(only on update 1) because ya’ll are always respectful even when women are awful heres the flame she deserves: fuck those rancid, bratty, entitled twats! who just takes someones money and when caught goes” why does he get to have all the money” God bless that dad for holding on to his son as this ship sank but my heart breaks for both of them and I hope this doesnt turn Jay cold.
With the girl whose boyfriend was real close with his best friend - I do genuinely think all of them are in the wrong. So I do talk to my friend typically at least one time a day - usually as a group but at least one frequently. But also these people are like... my found family. Like I moved states and these are the people I spend holidays with (I've also been friends with like, said girl since I was 16 - that's half of my whole life). But I would never get in the way of her relationship? Like granted I am friends with her fiance as well, but she'll be like "hey we're busy tonight" or like whatever rofl and I certainly wouldn't be like "only spend time with meeee" for four days in a row. I mean we both spend a lot of time online which I think is part of why we talk so much? Idk, I'd never expect her to do anything that would make her partner uncomfortable though :/
She's not an adult, she still has teen in her age. 18 and 19 are "adults" so kids can go to war, and old creepy men can "legally" date a child. The dad in the first story is goals. Wish mine was like that. Instead he gave control of me and my sister's over to his now ex just to please her. We went to bed hungry, slept on the floor while she got new king size beds when ever she wanted, wasn't allowed in the living room because it's not for kids, and other things just to please her. Nothing we did was ever good enough and our father just let her do as she pleased. Friendship and romance should be balanced. Make time for both. However forcing your partner to choose between you and them is fucked up and a red flag if your friends are not toxic/problematic. That being said saying your friends name while kissing your partner is weird and also a red flag
18 and 19 yrs old are definitely not "kids or children". No way. They know better not to be thieves and steal and basically be antisocial (psychopaths). Because that's what that 19 yr old who stole the money and credit card seems to be.
Sounds like OP's wife and her daughter are on the grift. In any event, theyre horrible people who destroyed the lives of 2 good people. I hope Katma catches up with them really quici.
Ok, so this is probably just my trauma perspective talking, but(and i hate using that word) you can never truly know the person you're with. I say that confidently. Because you just can't. I watched the person i loved with my whole being cry and beg for my forgiveness for basically holding our kid and i hostage for two days then turn around the next second dry eyed blaming me for everything. I thought i knew him. Then there are the predators out there that evryone says "oh he/she was such a good person this is so unexpected" Sure you can think you know someone, but you're foolish to think you know them 100%.
For the second story, I came down on the exact opposite side to you guys. I've had relationships of 6 months tell me they wanted me to prioritise them over my best friend, or insisting I could only be emotionally intimate with them, and I immediately saw that as a red flag and left them. They're both being super immature about this, but I would say the OP is an absolute asshole for trying to insist that he choose her, a relationship of two months, over his best friend of years. Trying to force him to cut contact and dictate how much time he spends with his friends is toxic as fuck, and she seems to have this weird hangup about guys being friends with girls. Obviously he's also weird as all hell for saying his best friend's name and jumping in-and-out of a relationship with her, but it seems more immaturity to me than toxicity. The only person that isn't a total asshole to me is the best friend, because she literally had no communication through any of this. From her perspective, she flew out to see him, he ghosted her and then his girlfriend told him he couldn't even say goodbye at the airport. Then he cut contact for no reason, over a girl he had been seeing for two months. At no point did either of them actually talk to her. Fucked up. TLDR; I think she should have left him after the kiss, but he was definitely right for breaking up with her over this.
I had a similar situation, and all end with my ex bf cheating on me with his female best fried, because like you, i was thinking i was being an asshole to think bad over a friendship of years and me being just like months with him. And yup. He was cheating me for a whole years with this girl, but even when i broke up with him, they never got together, they had their weird reason to not be an official couple, but i found out that the girl had this weird fantasy of impossible loves and that stuff, so for her, the real love comes when is an impossible love, yeah, really weird.
You don't find the best friend to be an asshole at all? She came into town unexpectedly and told him to cancel all plans with his girlfriend for 4 days but she's not part of the assholery? Hmmm. *also, did you hear the part where the GF requested to at least speak to the best friend and they video chatted? The GF was _trying_ to make it work.
Similar thing happened to me with my bf of 4 years except his friend was only 1 week and she caught feelings. Would it be toxic for me to request they didn’t see each other for 2 weeks until things simmer down? He thought so and went behind my back. Lesson is both parties need to set boundaries and if they overlap so much that compromise isnt viable, break up. You guys have different values and it’s not meant to be. It’s only toxic if you try to continue to make it work when it can’t. That’s how ultimatums happen after open communication.
I kinda come between you and them. I think the best friend is in the wrong to come unexpectedly and expect him to cancel all of his plans with his gf. The gf/ OP is the wrong for going to extremes and ultimatums. The bf should have split the difference and had them meet on day 1. I don't understand why they couldn't all hang out for some of that time. It is definitely a red flag he said best friend's name when kissing his gf. Everyone here lacks maturity to have handled this well.
Hm. The stealing thing: It's always telling to me when a poster doesn't start off with all the relevant info. It makes me skeptical of the updates. One argument is rarely enough for leaving with such a nuclear reaction. He made it sound as though "Jay" (the son) was a young child, and that the marriage was longer than the two years he stated later on.
what made y'all think to make a podcast? The stories are.... Boring. white guy looked like he was on the verge of throwing a fit he was so bored and the backwards cap guy just regurgitated very after school special type takes. Not trying to be mean I'm genuinely curious what makes grown men think their opinion is so interesting or is it something special about their personality that makes them want to create a podcast? I've watched other episodes and the 3rd guy is actually very funny and nice but even still I wouldn't say an entertainer's energy. I wish you had a woman on the show regularly bc y'all often don't understand very basic terms or concepts that a woman would pick up on. You have plenty of female contributors that your show wouldn't exist without them, why not hire 1 onto the team since y'all meet virtually anyway?

found the OP for the last post and she states in the comments that she’s a “camp councillor / activity instructor”
Ah that makes sense, I thought it was like a foster group home
I know this is a year old but it’s WILD to me you read the whole second story without realizing kissing is a euphemism 🤣🤣🤣

I agree with Josh, it’s weird to moan or say someone’s name while only kissing.
Also “twenty perschent off”

I think the Sephora service person was saying "rouge", Like the blush color. I don't know. Lol. That story was so sad, though!

The beginning of the 1¢ Venmo bit 😂😂😂

I'm late as hell, but I'm quite sure of the place, the person in the last story works is a group home of some sort.
Venti is 20 in Italian the drink is twenty ounces. Just so you know. Tall and grande don’t make sense I agree with that
The step dad didn't anything wrong. That adult girl stole the money, and no one expects the mom to flat out lie to defend that..
