It’s strong enough to pull my small kids around in a wagon, and durable enough to take quite a beating. As long as you don’t stuff 6s power into it or abuse the locking diffs or 2 speed by shifting under power, it should hold up just fine and bring miles of smiles to your face!

Bit of advice from a fellow summit owner. Tighten the spring adjusters on the back about half way down . It will keep the rear from sagging and slapping the ground, and it will handle a lot better.
I bet a lot of people never touch the spring adjusters. Traxxas has them set all the way loose from the factory so they can compress the suspension for shipping.

It's easy to reconcile those two opposing view points. By looking at more than 2 people. Or go to a hobby shop and ask the owner "What is your number one selling part for X vehicle?" For the Summit/Revo, the answer is almost always going to be diff gears. As far as the diffs in the Summit go, they are known to be weak in both the Summit and the Revo, and for a multitude of reasons. Metal diff cups and diff housings and proper shimming can help, but ultimately, the gears themselves are made from a very weak material that can be prone to snapping gear teeth off. Sure, some people with high powered E-Revos go and bash the hell out of them and never break a diff, but most people don't have that experience. This is an older model that I don't think they make anymore. It was available in the US and it was basically just an E-Revo with a brushed motor, larger tires, softer suspension, and lockable diffs. The trx4 came out much later.

Lil tip.. the rear stock springs are too soft and that's why the rear always sits low. I replaced my rears immediately with the same springs as the front. They are stiffer. Summit on!!
Run it on batteries with a higher c-rating I got 27 kmh on grass out of mine (I have 7000mah 50c lipo) And you need to switch of the lipo cut of and use a lipo alarm instead, because it throttles at 50% battery to 50% throttle Im really looking forward to the next video with it!
Thinking about picking one up. I think traxxas should make a 2.0 version that has a lot of components from the E-revo 2.0. It would be bulletproof. I'd also like to see it have the same brushless system as the maxx. It's not as powerful as the 6s system in the E-revo but it still has some punch to it.
I own both of what I would call Traxxax's best trucks. The trx4 and xmaxx 8s. Only one will not do it all. But these two really kinda somewhat might do it all. :)
I've literally heard the best about the summit and the worse all while trying to buy an trx4 defender for Christmas, but now I'm so confused😟. I will be using 3s all the time. -my choices this time round are; trx4 defender, e-revo 2.0, traxxas summit or the Arrma big rock.

This is an older model that I don't think they make anymore. It was available in the US and it was basically just an E-Revo with a brushed motor, larger tires, softer suspension, and lockable diffs. The trx4 came out much later.
Also really like this skate park, would love to see more tests here please !
Baddest truck in the arsenal & u baby it lmao lil past halfway point & u got the flying part down pat & there is nothing wrong with your driving I don’t think everyone knows most of your driving is 1 handed oh crap it looks like u might b 2 handing this 1 lol good job in my opinion haha yes all about having fun!!!
I have it the only thing I don’t like are the drive shafts are pretty weak
I’ve heard they are a bit weak
EURORC great company had hard to find parts for my old original Traxxas 3906 e maxx
there is a thing called a summit LT. it makes it even more capable as a crawler but can still bash i think
Some other body based on a real car, nicer looking wheels and easily one of the best rc cars available. Cheers!
Traxxas trx4 defender is the best
The TRX4 is a good truck
@@TomleyRC it’s quite amazing how capable that truck is
Lil tip.. the rear stock springs are too soft and that's why the rear always sits low. I replaced my rears immediately with the same springs as the front. They are stiffer. Summit on!!
Yes, good tip
I have two of them most versatile truck out there it’s definitely the king of the mountain
Just do not question it and have fun with it
Yes.., all about the fun factor
Looks like this might be the perfect first RC….
I think I'd describe the Summit how I describe myself - A little bit good at everything, excels at nothing 😂
Run it on batteries with a higher c-rating
I got 27 kmh on grass out of mine (I have 7000mah 50c lipo)
And you need to switch of the lipo cut of and use a lipo alarm instead, because it throttles at 50% battery to 50% throttle
Im really looking forward to the next video with it!
Thanks mate. It does seem to cut off quiet a bit when under load
A Summit 2.0 would be awesome!
Once upon a time long ago,I had a choice ...this or emaxxbrushless..of course I got the emaxx, still have a niche for the summit tho🤟
dammit man, i see what you did there, RE TItle. HAHA "Nobody knows!"
I own both of what I would call Traxxax's best trucks. The trx4 and xmaxx 8s. Only one will not do it all. But these two really kinda somewhat might do it all. :)
Yessir 💪 all angles covered
Sooooo is this summit not the in-between?😁
I can only get one this year, a trx4 defender, summit, e-revo 2.0 or a arrma BigRock? Help me please😫
@@surfside75 the summit looks great. I have never driven one however. It all depends on what you want to do with it.
Wow thats my dream rc car 😍😍🌠👏👍😮😍😂😂
It’s useful for summit
Haha
Debating on this or the trx4
Me too but due to comments, the summit is out as is the e-revo. Trx4 defender and Xmaxx are still on the good list though.
You have any problems with it going into low power mode or thermal protection? It's a battle I'm facing right now
Yes, when it’s under load it sometimes does. I think someone said the ESC is a bit sensitive
I swapped mine out with my brushed e revo one, idk what its deal it might be time to go brushless
Really cool video! You should do a video on the FTX Kanyon.
Very nice. How can you film and drive together? Is the camera on your head?
1 hand driving, 1 hand holding the camera
Hi love your vids💕💕💕❤️❤️
Nice! But looks like youre not bashing hard enough😁
I quite like it. I’m buying one as soon as I sign the divorce papers 😂😂
Haha
Bet you've got your eye on that new axial ryft haven't you?
Lol don't know if he does but I do. Just the way they move. Looks great.
Possibly 😎
@@steveryder6733 it does look cool. not my personal favourite but it looks like it can probably out summit the summit.
What type of batteries are you using?
Nice
Great video though
Fair play to u
I have the big rock
Next one is traxas max or xmax
????
I’ve heard the Max is a lot of fun
Crawler must go with scale looks otherwise is a no go (of course only IMO)
I have considered buying a Summit, but I have a truggy and a crawler, and 7 others, so . . .
Loving my Summit now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😂
Lol is it a skatepark basher . Ohhhh shhhi
Haha
