I have to completely agree with you, that easygoing smile on Grove's face as he is eviscerating the Barbarois is just incredible. A truly monumental succession.
I watched section 9 vs Jigabachi here: watch?v=h35rJBiIoRE I do not understand what you found good in that scene. It was weird robot attacking some helicopters.
it is pretty sick...Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is such an underrated classic. Good writing, very original and creative character design and the way they portray Meier Link's arrival and his effect on his surroundings in the opening sequence is the coolest portrait of a vampire lord I have ever seen in cinema.
I have never related to another character more than I do Grove!! I am mostly bedridden with sickness but there is a lively spectre inhabiting my body that just wants to breakout and be vibrant and effervescent, dominating everything in my path.
What an interesting character, Grove was. It was at this moment in the movie where I was so disappointed it wasn't a series. Was a crime that we didn't get more of a back story on him.
Most awesome scene ever. I love his facial expression as he blasted the entire mutant convention into dust. I love the music and the rhythm of the scene too.
The music in the whole movie is great. The scene with Grove manages to be beautiful, unnerving, inspiring, thrilling, and also just sad. I watched this movie off a single formal reccomendation after having heard good things here and there about it for awhile. I was most definitely not dissapointed in the least bit. When Grove is first seen flying in, my eyes opened wide and I had said “what in God’s good name is that?!” right as the vampire in town was delivering his “what the devil is that?!”. Haha I was just like GOOD, im glad someone else is as fucking mystified as me at what is happening plot wise right now lol. Ive seen a lot of stuff over the years but that took me by surprise! I was expeccting some type of more....Phsyically, based super saiyan, from the blue vial. Ha, The only thing phsyical about that form was the physical devastation caused by his OP holy spiritual radiating light rays of pure annihalation and devastation attack while he Tinker Bells around looking like he just railed the fattest line of Ketamine any man has ever taken and lived to tell about. That’s probably why that dude was in the hospital bed looking like all his organs are damn close to failing. Wicked bad drug addict whos body cannot sustain what the mind craves!! Hell, it probably was fucking ketamine in the blue vial! Remind me to never let a Priest bless my Ketamine , ill stick with vanilla blessed holy water . That holy ketamine is way out of my league.
Despite any other misgivings about the brothers, I can say I was honestly proud of them to nail that Benge thing. Supporting cast rarely get solid spotlight time like this, and having them beat him instead of D manages to retain their pride in the process.
Wonder if you guys noticed how all the lines of the scope were flat ? His power is only possible to use when DEAD and man I got sadder when I noticed it yesterday...
ME ENCANTA COMO VUELA GROVE COMO UN ANGEL Y DESTELLA RAYOS DE LUZ ELIMINANDO A TODOS TRANQUILO, SONRRIENTE Y CON UN GRAN PODER, A UN QUE VAMPIRE HUNTER PELEA EXEPCIONAL.. I love how FLIES GROVE AS AN ANGEL AND flashes of light rays BY ELIMINATING ALL QUIET, SONRRIENTE AND WITH A GREAT DEAL OF POWER, A Vampire Hunter THAT FIGHT WHICH SPANS..
You can tell he's in a dream state because he tried to blast the carriage. Had the blackhole clown guy been a normal person, Grove would've killed the chick and failed the mission.
redvenomweb Interesting. You seem informed, you mind telling me what's up with the scream at around 1:30? It seems unnecessary - this has baffled me since the first time I watched this.
@chewface I'm with the other poster that answerd. "Crazy pointless Scream" is a somewhat common Anime trope, and given how much he loved screwing with people I wouldn't put it past him doing it just SO those he faces have your reaction. And while they say "Why in the blue hell is he laughing..." I'm sure he's swallowed less fortunate hunters whole.
When I first saw the movie, the same thing crossed my mind. She's just like, "could you give me a lift to the nearest town?" to D. But since I haven't read any of the novels or manga, maybe a scene/content was cut due to limited time they could put in a movie.
I don't understand how Benge manages to escape death when he was shot point blank by the arrow, even saying, "That was close," just before when the other arrows missed him, but later when he gets sliced by Kyle, he's killed for real.
can someone please explain to me what happens at 1:27? He shoots his beams into the cloth/shadow guy....and he apparently....is hurt? Freaked out? Enraged? He didn't damage the carriage. He didn't damage the cloth/shadow guy......so why that screech? Weird.
Yeah, the abruptness of that scene being a result of bad editing goes without saying. Too bad, because otherwise it's a good movie. It's better than the book.
This sequence is my favorite 6 minutes of any anime, and almost of any movie, period.
I have to completely agree with you, that easygoing smile on Grove's face as he is eviscerating the Barbarois is just incredible. A truly monumental succession.

I just love Grove's face here. It just says, "Come friends. Let me touch you with the holy light."
A religious ecstasy look
The smiling on Grove's face says it all. No pain, able to move and kick ass. Probably the only time he feels happy but at a huge cost.
Grove is the man. He’s so jubilant as he decimates the Barbaroi. I love it.
I have never related to another character more than I do Grove!! I am mostly bedridden with sickness but there is a lively spectre inhabiting my body that just wants to breakout and be vibrant and effervescent, dominating everything in my path.
Scent swift smash forks
What an interesting character, Grove was. It was at this moment in the movie where I was so disappointed it wasn't a series. Was a crime that we didn't get more of a back story on him.
A blissful onslaught of holy fury, gotta love it.
Most awesome scene ever. I love his facial expression as he blasted the entire mutant convention into dust. I love the music and the rhythm of the scene too.
Badass power Grove has, so eerie and beautiful!
It's all fun and games until someone turns their soul into a weapon.
@@nick-brothwood, ah! you're almost dead!
Grove: ... **ghostly smile appears**
Not as strong as d literally took him out in one blow
"Follow me thinker bell" hahahaha i love this part n___n
Most underrated anime ever.
Grove was the breakout star, and broke my heart
but he did save the day at the end if you remember his sacrifice ;)
The horse, though... :(
Grove has always been my favorite character
The Marcus Brothers are much cooler in Bloodlust than their novel counterparts!
Grove looks just soo happy during attacks it's wonderful.
The music in the whole movie is great. The scene with Grove manages to be beautiful, unnerving, inspiring, thrilling, and also just sad. I watched this movie off a single formal reccomendation after having heard good things here and there about it for awhile. I was most definitely not dissapointed in the least bit. I tell ya this movie filled with great men, Grove, D, and meir. sigh. heart!
Benge realised the badass...ness of grove when he absorbed the blast and couldn't help but scream in frustration lol. no it was fear o_o
no, he just crazy and laugh/scream in some situations
Now if only Grove could use homing crystal soulmass
To be honest this looks far more accurate and devastating
Grove's holy spirit.
I love this scene, but how every one of Caroline's spikes managed to miss everyone in the tank is beyond me.
Despite any other misgivings about the brothers, I can say I was honestly proud of them to nail that Benge thing. Supporting cast rarely get solid spotlight time like this, and having them beat him instead of D manages to retain their pride in the process.
The side character's killed 2/3 of the body guards. The only one D got was the werewolf
Every character was utilized in this movie, it's quite entertaining. If it follow modern anime route, only the main character will shine.
@@1cioda D defeated Caroline too, Carmila, and Meier 2 times.
Grove: Both the strongest AND the weakest member of the group. Incredible power. But at a heavy cost.
That's one helluva Ouf-Of-Body experience!
Wonder if you guys noticed how all the lines of the scope were flat ? His power is only possible to use when DEAD and man I got sadder when I noticed it yesterday...
The scene with Grove in the capsule gave me a nightmare when I was 9 yrs old watching this with my uncle, I woke up crying 😭
damn thos movie was so bad ass, we need more D!
Thanks man for the good old days
I noticed that Gove was the only one of the brothers with whom Lelia was friendly.
What's more awesome than sending your mind to shoot lasers at monsters?
I felt sorry for grove and D but I wonder how grove learned about his power.
Well In the wiki it says seizures make his powers activate so maybe he had a seizure one day and found out about them
Astral projection trumps all other powers, except for the fact that it kills you.
Yup, a glass canon

Why did Benji scream at 1:25? Grove's blasts didn't seem to do anything to him.
he crazy
Well I know what spell Grove uses in Darksouls.
vivi44 What spell?

Music is so awesome
The part where it kicks in at 1:02 gives me chills
Bro this whole movie is epic one of my favorites of all time@@justinweagly8317
Grove is so bad ass
Its an holy ghost.
You can tell he's in a dream state because he tried to blast the carriage. Had the blackhole clown guy been a normal person, Grove would've killed the chick and failed the mission.
AEIIIStraigon The bounty on the girl was "dead or alive." Kyle and Borgoff confirm this on the bridge right before he (Kyle) dies.
redvenomweb Interesting.
You seem informed, you mind telling me what's up with the scream at around 1:30? It seems unnecessary - this has baffled me since the first time I watched this.
AEIIIStraigon That was confusing to me too. My guess is that he wasn't ready to deal with Grove and D at the same time.
I think he was taunting Grove, kind of like saying "You thought that would hurt me huh?"
I always thought since he was a shadow being that those light beams didn't kill but at least HURT him a hell of a lot.
Lux : PENTAKILL!!!
Come. God has come. We said we go against him laughing and fighting him and laughing and mocking him.
0:30 That would be an enemy Stand User.
I cannot escape. It is a Cainite.
LOL. I thought he just absorbed the light and it burned a bit (or something to that effect).

Grove saved leyla... and she didn't even thought about him when she went out of the castle :/
Could you reword that so it makes more sense please?
When I first saw the movie, the same thing crossed my mind. She's just like, "could you give me a lift to the nearest town?" to D. But since I haven't read any of the novels or manga, maybe a scene/content was cut due to limited time they could put in a movie.
Any lovelies a year later?
Hey look, the enemy has three door men. That's cheating..........
Nice. I can cheat too wanna see me Grove song?
At that point eh brothers shoulda called it a day.

He didn't damage the carriage. He didn't damage the cloth/shadow guy......so why that screech? Weird.
He’s screaming because he looks up and sees that D is now joining the fray, too. I know I’d be screaming if both Grove and D were after me!

How was the scene with Grove the result of bad editing?
I think it was just too rushed. Left me wanting so much more from such a bad ass character. Wish there were more back story. A series, maybe?
I havent seen this. Does the cool hell-horse die?
BikouTenma if memory serves correct its not an actual horse but a robot horse, so he will just buy a new one
i belibe its bionic
Benge.
So when Grove blasted Benge, did he hurt him or not?
No. In the Japanese dub he laughs because it didn't do anything to him
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
lol the horse exploded
is it a reference to castlevania's cross?
Silly you, Vampire Hunter D is older than Castlevania, and ir was the inspiration for the game.
Vampire hunter d manga was 1983 and the first castlevania game was 1986
We bot cant diel
I think that's called bad editing, lol. I think I read somewhere that there was more to that scene, but they cut it very awkwardly
Follow me tinkerbell....
julgna lol
God the book was so much better
Oh dont start with that
The book ends in the forest. I liked the movie here better
